Scheduling was very easy, including having to change my move date at the last minute. Andy explained the fee structure (regulated by the state) in advance, and the bill was right on target. The only thing he didn't tell me initially was that they charge approx $10/item using their shrink wrap which can add up quickly, but there's no fee if you provide your own shrink wrap. (Just be sure it's not a quick-tear kind which slows them down). The 3-man team arrived on time, were all polite, professional, and worked very quickly. They were very careful to protect my items and to secure them when loaded. They had the 26' truck fully loaded, drove 30 minutes to the delivery site, and completely unloaded and reassembled needed items within 4 hours. I definitely would recommend Gentle John's, and will certainly use them again without hesitation if I have moving needs in the future.

Gentle John's helped me move my household belongings. They made the process easy from scheduling to completing the move and they did a great job. I would hire them again and recommend them to others looking to move.

3 men came to move us. They were so careful with our household belongings and went out of their way to wrap our fragile items to protect from any damage. They were so nice and worked so hard. If I ever need a moving company in state or out of state, they will be the first I will call. Great experience!!

They were an hour late and I wasnâ t sure what to expect. I did not get a call about this. However, once they arrived they were very friendly and efficient and did a fine job. They took good care of all of the pieces they moved. It was easy to give them directions and they did not take it the wrong way. I would love to have the same team move my house again if it becomes needed.

From the first contact, to the end of the move, the crew from Gentle Johnâ s were outstanding. The process was transparent, the moving crew efficient and very careful with our belongings. They were friendly and willing to assist us in any way to make our move easier. After the first day, we couldnâ t find a couple of things and the dispatcher was more than happy to contact the crew to locate the items. Overall, our moving experience was much less stressful, thanks to the professionalism, friendliness and efficiency of Gentle Johnâ s. I would happily recommend them to anyone.

The crew called me to let me know when they were going to be at my home; they showed up even 5-8 minutes early, which gave me the impression that they cared about me, my time, and what they were about to do. They were very professional as they moved my things, and worked very quickly. I was grateful and impressed with everything that they did for me - if and when I move again, I will be calling them to move my things. They were wonderful.

Please find someone else. We hired them to move us from a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment about 6 minutes away. It ended up costing $2000 and took them over 9 hours to do it. Three young men showed up, were uttering words of dread from the very beginning, and their attitudes never improved. This moving company charges by the hour, so there was no incentive to hurry, and no effort to hurry. Also, many of our larger items of furniture were scratched or broken, and lots of free standing items were outright missing. They either cherry picked items they wanted to take home from our move, or they left items unattended and someone else stole them- we have no clue because we have gotten no answers from the company. The manager called me once to basically assert that I just had not unpacked all the way, and simply had not found these missing items yet, but that is not accurate. We were completely unpacked, and there is no doubt whatsoever that those missing items are nowhere to be found. I had a rolling cart full of rolled rugs and curtain rods- all they had to do was wheel it inside. Instead, they made multiple trips to bring the contents of the cart, but the cart itself was never left with us, even though it is ours. A two way window fan went missing, a few free standing 3-tiered shelf organizers, the aforementioned cart, a full length mirror, and at least two boxes with miscellaneous contents all disappeared. You should expect movers to be efficient, but they were wasting trips on single items that they carried with one hand; this was a frequent occurrence that took up a ton of extra time. We were sent a â statement of claim form from the manager about the missing and damaged items, but since we wer not ever offered a full value coverage option prior to the move, we were only covered for sixty cents per pound/per item that was considered missing or broken. Can you imagine? Losing something incredibly valuable, but only getting 60 cents per pound for it? For items that actually costed us anywhere from $30-150, we will get back just a few bucks if we are lucky simply because they were not heavy. It feels like a scam; like they can just take whatever items suit them because the repercussions are so minimal. They can break whatever they want because nothing is actually going to come of a claim against them. Their awful attitudes and poor work ethic go uncared for by the company, and meanwhile we are left with less than what we started with and no recourse. This was the worst moving experience Iâ ve ever had in decades of hiring movers. In fact, we paid less money for a different company to move us two states away than we paid for Gentle John is to move us 6 minutes away. They dragged their feet the entire time, and also missed an entire room of contents at our previous residence, so we had to pay for the extra time it took them to go back and get it all. This was an absolutely awful experience that left me baffled about how they can possibly get any decent reviews online. This was by far and away the worst experience Iâ ve ever had with a moving company. Absolute worst.

All the employees that I interacted with ( both on the phone and in person) were polite, professional, helpful and so respectful. Everyone did what they said they were going to do, in the appropriate time frame. The moving crew was so efficient and careful. We highly recommend this company.

I was in a situation that I needed a mover the next day! I reviewed several but found Andy at Gentle John's the most helpful and understanding. He actually managed to work me in between jobs and get my move accomplished. The movers were polite and obviously knew what they were doing. I neglected to ask that the movers bring in boxed appliances, a big job. They contacted the boss and immediately said they could do it!. All this was accomplished in 2 hours! Thank you gentlemen!!!

The crew who moved our things were friendly, fast and moved our belongings to our new house carefully. We had packed most of our things ourselves but asked the crew to move some antique dressers and mirrors. I asked them not to pack art work because I intended to move our collection of artwork myself. Apparently someone didn't get that message and small artworks in one room were packed. When I opened the box I was glad I had not asked them to move artwork. The framed watercolors, prints and oil paintings were all stacked together with no padding separating them. Fortunately nothing was damaged. The antique mirrors were put in boxes with out padding at all. I fault the company for not instructing their employees how to protect items when moving fragile, delicate and valuable things. Gentle Johns, teach your movers how to protect valuable items in a move.

On time, careful, efficient, great to work with

Great movers nice guys. Movers came 2 hrs late due to mechanical problems somewhere in their system. We had 3 movers in the morning and only 2 in the afternoon. The move was from a house to a storage unit. I took the most delicate and meaningful things in my car, set everything next to the truck. They moved everything into storage breaking a lovely family glass lamp. I was heartbroken. I was also confused because of the great ratings they received.

From the reservation to the last box delivered, our experience was EXCELLENT! The reservation was by phone and was quite thorough. Specific details were discussed and charges were made clear. Gentle John's called to confirm their appointment 2 days before, and discuss any possible changes. Our crew was to arrive between 8:00 - 9:00 AM , and they did so. Arrived at 8:05 AM. We had a 3 man crew. All were courteous, polite, and hard working. This was a home apartment moving to an assisted living facility. We we had everything packed, and they disassembled the furniture and loaded the truck in one hour. Our destination location was only a few miles away, and after arrival, they were quick to unload and assemble the bed frame and recliners. the whole move, including paper work took 2.5 hours. We had a stellar group of guys! We'll use Gentle John's again in a heartbeat! Such a great experience!
