I had a leaky gate valve as the main shutoff on my sprinkler system that was, I am guessing, as old as my house (40 years old). I found Bill Smith Plumbing and Heating here and decided to use them as they had excellent reviews and there was a deal for $200 worth of plumbing services for $110. I can sweat pipes myself but I enclosed these pipes when I finished my basement leaving only a small service panel through which to access them. Therefore, I was leery of using a torch near the insulation in the wall. Someone from BSP&H called the day of my 11am appointment to inform me that they had a cancellation. So to say they were prompt is an understatement as they were almost 2 hours early. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it took Aurora Water almost 4 hours to arrive to turn the water back on. Had the appointment been at the scheduled time I am not sure I would have gotten someone back out here before the weekend. When Michael showed up he quickly assessed the task at hand and ask if I ONLY wanted the sprinkler valve replaced as the the main shutoff for the house was just as old and there would be very little additional labor. I decided to have him do that as well as that valve was just as old and, most likely, prone to failure soon as well. As Michael progressed through the job and encountered various hurdles he explained each of them to me and explained my options. He completed the work in under 2 hours. He was very adamant to make as little mess as possible and cleaned up thoroughly when he was done. He also thoroughly explained how to reopen the valves when the water was turned on to purge the lines of air. I assumed you just turned them on but he said to turn them on halfway until the air is purged then to open them the rest of the way. Because I live in the city of Aurora I could not turn the main water supply back on to test for leaks immediately. Aurora Water has padlocks on the meters. While Michael was confident in all his soldering work, he said that if there were any issues to call and they would be sure to send someone out immediately to take care of any issues. There was no need. The cost of service listed above was the total invoice price. With the aforementioned deal my out of pocket cost was $196. I couldn't have been more pleased with Michael's promptness, his work, his professionalism or his courteousness. He even took a few minutes after he was done to scratch myt overly friendly dogs. I will never hesitate to call Bill Smith Plumbing and Heating again should the need arise. This was my first experience using someone from Angie's List. I couldn't have had a better experience. I know this is a long review but I felt such a thorough job deserved a through review.

He did a good job. We spent an additional $200. They were very easy to work with when I made the appointment.

Big thanks to Dan and Scott. They were on time, professional, knew what to do and did it. Plus they explained things to me, which I appreciated. I have absolutely no reason to use another plumber. Bill Smith is my plumber!

Had purchased the Big Deal thinking it would go toward the replumbing of a bathtub. Instead the gas line under our stove had to be moved so that the stove could be pulled out & repaired; a toliet had to be repaired; & the garbage disposal leaked & needed replumbing. All these repairs came to approximately $90.00 over the price of the Big Deal. The plumber came out promptly & repaired the toliet, leaving us with a balance from the Big Deal. Then we learned in order to repair our stove, a plumber needed to move the gas line. We called Bill's back; they came out & gave an estimate; then scheduled the work to be done when we needed it, so that it would be done before the stove repairman was scheduled to return. They did this all on a week's notice. That same week they returned when a pipe connecting our disposal to the main line blew apart. Each time they were prompt & very professional, & fair ( our 1st call did not equal the full amount of the Big Deal & they carried the balance over for us). We would use them again.

Great experience and fantastic service.

Plumber walked me through what he was doing, from clearing a slow draining sink and taking care of the leak in the faucet. He also took the time to walk me through some preventative techniques to keep the sink drain from building up and clogging in the future. He carefully cleaned up after himself so that I didn't have to. I appreciate his honesty and professional attitude. I will certainly call Bill Smith Plumbing for my future plumbing needs

After experiencing toilets that almost ran over for a week after moving back into our home we had Bill Smith Plumbing come out with the intent of having them clear the main sewer line. After testing drains throughout the house they said that they only needed to clean the toilet drains in two locations which they did in less than an hour. I would highly recommend Bill Smith Plumbing to anyone for a great service and an honest assessment. We have had bad experiences with the large plumbing companies in town and it is nice to know that there is someone that actually wants to do a good job for a fair price.

Sure enough, the city was doing work that was a known cause of the problem. We saved a bunch of money and time by not having the company provide a service visit. It was really great for them to provide information over the phone without payment or a home visit, which is not what I generally expect from most companies these days. We'll call them in the future with any problems, but hope we don't have to.

They were very accomodating scheduling the call and got us right in. They showed up on time. They diagonosed the problem quickly, and completed the repair. They even gave us a discount when it was discovered that problem was partly user error.

The technician arrived on time, performed all the work in a clean and efficient manner and was very professional and knowledgeable.

For once I decided to replace an appliance before it broke. Everything went very well. The plumber showed up within the stated time frame and removed the old water heater, and told me that judging by the serial number it was about 23 years old! He did a very professional and efficient job of installing the new one. He even made a special trip to buy grout to make sure there was a good seal around the exhaust pipe. Due to some adaptations necessary to connect to my older plumbing the price came in slightly higher than the esitmate, but this was not unexpected. They did a great job and didn't try to sell me a lot of upgrades that I couldn't afford.

Arrived on time. Performed service in a professional manner. Very clean. Gave us info about our water pressure. Pointed out a flaw in the used disposer that we were reusing. Also provided info about the price for another repair that we will have done in the future. I was very pleased with repairman's professionalism.

So far so good, they have taken care of the problem.

Everything went well, they charged me on top of what I paid for but the work was fine.

My principle objection is that I object to the $50 trip charge. They are very good at what they do, but they are a little too pricey for me.

Dan, the plumber, arrived at my residence at the agreed upon time and performed the task of removing my present kitchen faucet, and, afterwards, installing a new faucet. Additionally, Dan impressed me with his apparent competence and professionalism. As an added bonus to my overall service experience, Dan was a rather pleasant individual!

I was very pleased with the work that was performed. The plumber arrived on time, went over all the work that needed to be done. He had to cut some dry wall to reach various pipes. Fixed everything that needed to be done. He cleaned up after and took the old toilets and boxes with him, I was so surprised. Very professonal. I am a very picky person and I was thrilled with the work product. The price was amazing. I will definitey call this company again for all my plumbing needs. On a different note: my mother had a plumber come to her home a couple months ago to put an exsisting toilet back in place and fix a small leak on the toilet. He was there maybe 30 minutes and charged her $500.00. My plumber: Bill Smith Plumbing and Heating did tripple the work, spent 4 hours at my home and my bill was $450.00. Pays to do your homework. I love this company!!!!!

We had a hose bibb on the side of our house that was dripping. I saw the special for a $200 install of a new one and bought it. Everyone I talked to at the company was very helpful and friendly. They provided accurate information and arrived when they said they would. Scott did the actual install and he was friendly and efficient. This was the definition of a painless transaction and a positive customer experience. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again.

It was a great experience. They came out the same morning I called. Work was done quickly, for a good price, and the plumber was friendly and professional.
