Vivax Pros

Since this was the first time the house had been painted since it was built 6 years ago it was in good condition with little restorative work required. The fence originally had been stained, also 6 years ago, but was now in need of powerwashing and restaining to prevent further deterioration. Cost was slightly higher than other bids received, however contract was awarded to Vivax Pro because of recommendations of past users of this firm. Contractor employees showed up on time and very efficiently completed their work as scheduled. The area was always cleaned up at days end. There were only two (2) areas that needed rework: (1) portions of the fence were apparently not powerwashed properly; and (2) one of the boards of the fence's gate was broken, apparently when a rock, used to hold it open during the staining process, was not removed prior to closing the gate. Both items were completely and satisfactorily resolved within a day of notice to the project manager.

Did not go with Vivax Pro painting. They man that provided the quote was flaky. Also, advertisements and salespeople came to our door nearly 4 or 5 times a week for months. It was most annoying and unpeaceful. They should mark down houses they have gone to that have told them no so they don't keep knocking on the same door dozens of times.

They were very professional, they kept checking back with me with the colors to make sure I was happy with that and they did a good job.

They did a really good job. I am happy with the assistance they provided. They were just very thorough in the process and the paint work.

They were just easy to work with. I wasn't here with they did it, they just did it all in one day and it was a very good job.

Great experience from the estimate to the finished product.

They showed up on time when scheduled and did a good job. We had previously got a bid from another company, paid a deposit and they didn't show up when they were suppose to and didn't call. So we proceeded to get a couple more bids and VivaxPro was the cheapest and were the nicest. The other bid we got, the guy acted shocked that the HOA had approved the colors we had carefully selected and was trying to push different color selections on us. So the choice was easy. VivaxPro was also much cheaper than the company that didn't come out the first time. The painters did a good job of painting. I wasnt too happy about how they removed our patio grills and furnaces and would have preferred they had us move them ourselves, but they did leave them for us to move back. The site supervisor made sure I was pleased with all the work and was happy to make any touchups I thought were needed. Our paint has been on for five years and still looks great. We had recently called them to fix some paint we thought was peeling under the eaves. They were very polite and accomodating. They sent someone out within a few weeks and when he checked out the peeling paint, it was just a section where the wasps were trying to get in to create a nest. He wiped it clean for us and touched up some paint that had been chipped when we got our new windows installed while he was here. My husband was so impressed by this, he insisted I go write a review about Vivax Pro and let everyone know what a great company this was.

A good experience during the quote process, but not so much once the process got started. For example, throughout final inspection, the project manager was complaining about how much more stain the fence took than expected. The finish on the deck (applied by Vivax the year before) was peeling off within a year of the application, despite waterproofing it per their instructions. When I asked about it, I was told that it just happens that way, but they would touch it up when they did the house. When they didn't follow through, I asked about it again, and they sent the crew back out to touch it up, but the crew splattered dark red stain all over the sliding glass door and freshly painted exterior of the house! Additionally, an exterior light was damaged (set bolts were stripped somehow, making it impossible to point the light), and it took almost a month of emailing before a refund for the cost of replacement was offered. (To Vivax's credit, they did eventually offer.) When compared to the price that my neighbor just paid to have his house re-painted, and the quality of the work that was done, there's just not a chance that I'll work with Vivax again. I think we probably just got a poor crew and manager.

I picked Vivax because of the excellent paint job they did on my neighbors house. They responded to my request in good time, showed up on time and did a great job. The only thing that I could criticize was that when they moved several items off of my back deck to paint, they tipped over my BBQ and left it laying on the grass in pieces. I would have preferred they asked me to move the stuff myself, which they didn't. They did a great job on the paint, however, and I would recommend them to everyone - no drips, no missed spots, very nice guys and reasonable pricing.

Good experience from start to end. They also provided a subcontractor to do some woodwork replacement since I had some siding needing replacement. My preferred method of communication was email and they were happy to do everything over email. The crew worked diligently and we did 2 rounds of walk-throughs to ensure everything was taken care of. Good warranty program, although I have not had to use them yet.

We called them up to get an estimate and someone came out. He answered all our questions well and the company had been recommended by a friend. We had 3 different companies come out to give us estimates and they were the lowest. Since they had been recommended by a friend and were the lowest price we went with them. They gave us some options for warranty. I think the options were 4 years or 7 years. We went with 4 years. We set a date for the project to start. They came out and did the prep work one day and then did the painting the next two days. we ran into a problem though. They told me that the shutters on our house that were to be painted were not paintable shutters. So basically I had to find some paintable shutters from Home Depot, and they came back another day to finish the project. They agreed to remove the old shutters and attach the new ones after they were painted. They did a nice job painting and fixed any places that looked like they needed more. I am wondering if we will get more than 4 years years out of it though. We probably should have gone with the 7 year warrenty and gotten the extra coat of paint. It seems a bit thin to me. The only complaint I had was that they left a rag they had been using hanging from my tree. In the days they worked there they never removed it and I had to throw it out once the job was complete and they had gone. Also, one of the painters left pistachio nut shells all over my lawn. Kind of gross and you would think he would dispose of them himself instead of throwing the shells around my house. Overall I was happy with the job. I did get the sense that they were very busy with projects. I think with the hail storm last spring it made for a busy season for most painters and roofers. I'm hoping the paint holds up for a good amount of time!

Thought he company did cover the cost of the mistakes after I complained, there were so many that after a while you get frustrated and you just want them out of the house!

They were timely and professional. Their prices are good and they are competitive.

They arrived on time, were polite, and did an overall good job. However, it seemed that they lacked the know-how to do some of the repairs.

Vivax was prompt both for the estimate and the actual job. Nearly 3 years later, pain job still looks great. They use great quality materials, work fast, and clean the whole thing up.

All painting representatives were very courteous and expert. But their estimates were too high.

They wrote up a quote for me. I did not want to consider them because it is getting late in the season, and they couldn't accommodate my timeframe. They quit painting November 1st, and I was looking for completion before them.

They came out and gave us an estimate which included several things automatically as a part of the contract that other painters did not. A four year warranty is included in the base contract price. A Seven year warranty would have cost an additional value. Additional primer coats for the first three boards / siding panels closest to the ground were also included. It was also important to me that the labor actually doing the work were not contractor workers and that they spoke English. I have no issue with people who speak other languages but my husband and I unfortunately do not. Being able to communicate with each other - we both thought - was important. We had to work out colors which in our case was a significant issue. Since we were not the original owners of this house and were not intending to change the colors, and were telling the HOA that we were not changing anything in the colors - it was a HUGE issue that we get it right. You would think this was a no brainer but if someone fouled this part up my HOA could demand, at our cost to have the house repainted. Vivax used Kwal paint and solved this concerns for us with ease. The house took three days to paint. It went incredibly smooth and we were both very pleased. They did everything that they agreed to do. They protected all of the areas that they were suppose to protect, nailed down whatever needed to be nailed down before they started and went above and beyond to move things out of the way and then returned them to their respective places at the end, although they clearly did not have to. The workers - two guys - were respectful and professional at all times, as were all of the folks we dealt with at the office, as well as the job site manager. To be honest when I first started the process of getting estimates and understanding the scope pf the job I dreaded actually having it done. ( I am not normally an anxious person for all it's worth. Vivax Pro Painting though by being who they were and what and how they handled the job , completely put me at rest. I am very very pleased with their performance.

They were prompt and they had reasonable pricing. I would use them again in the future for exterior painting.

Vivax Pro Painting was painting our neighbor's house and I stopped by as I was walking my dog to ask my neighbor about them. She was really pleased with this company so we decided to call them for an estimate/bid. They made an appointment, showed up EXACTLY when they said they would and gave us an excellent bid. Also they used the same type of paint (local paint company, formulated for our Colorado climate) that we had used many years before and matched the color EXACTLY. They showed up promptly on the day scheduled for the job and went right to work. They were quick, neat and thorough and cleaned up everything and returned furniture, planters, etc. before they left. Even our dog loved them!

They had to cut us a deal and extend our warranty because they did such a bad job at fist. The first team they sent out was horrible and they just started paining without doing the lead removal, we had a 3 month old at the time and that was very important to us. When they finally did the lead removal and started painting we had to pay extra because they charge extra for lead removal because they have to remove this by hand. They were going to do this for free and they were going to use some kind of wood paste to cover up the chunks and they apparently forgot to do the clean up, they also didn't fill in most of the holes. They had to send a second contracting company out that they said was a "better contracting" company, so we wondered why they didn't send them out in the first place. They sprayed paint on my car, they weren't even suppose to start painting yet and they just decided to start painting while my car was in the driveway. I was even home and wasn't asked to move it. They also missed painting a whole side of my house, I didn't even realize it until my neighbor pointed this out. I would never recommend them!

We have an old, run down wood deck that we did not want to pay to replace, but wanted to spruce up. Vivax came to our home and recommended applying a solid stain to the deck which would provide some protection from the weather while also improving the appearance. They recommended a color matching the stain to our home which looks GREAT and we had no idea was an option. 2 workers spent approximately 1.5 days hand painting the stain onto our deck. We actually used 2 different colors, one for the majority of the deck and one for the rails and it turned out fantastically. We are so happy with the result and the deck looks brand new! Vivax also painted the outside of our home, so we were not at all surprised by the level of professionalism, respect for our home/property, punctuality and the quality of work. Vivax is an excellent company and we would happily refer them to others and use them again in the future.

I called them in response to a person coming door to door with their information. When I saw that they were listed in Anglies List I called them back for a quote. We had some damaged trim around a couple of our windows and I liked that they coordinated the repair of these prior to the trimming. The only problem we had was how many people are involved from Vivax in the process. It got confusing 1)the person who gives the initial quote 2)the person who comes out and estimates the wood repair needed 3)the person who actually does the wood repair 4)the project manager who organizes the painting time and crew 5))the site manager who is out overseeing the painting 6)the actual painters In our case, the person who estimated the wood repair did not do an adequate job. The actual person who did the repair did exactly what he was scheduled to do which was not the complete job. We had to have them come back out, show them the additional work they missed and then he had to come out again and complete it. I pointed this out to the actual repair person at the time but he was scheduled too tight to pick up the extra work at that time. They pressure washed the house and did the initial prep work one day. The actual painters did a fantastic job and with 4 painters, had it done in a day. Someone came back a couple days later to inspect the work and make sure we did not have any concerns. I would recommend then for sure. The one day paint job was impressive to both us and our neighbors!
