When we hired Steve we asked him what day and time he could start the job. He picked 8:30, Wednesday the 25th. When 9:00 came and no Steve, we called him on his cell. He said he was 20 minutes away. He didn't offer an apology for being late. At that point we had a discussion about whether to go ahead with him since we needed someone dependable. We decided to wait to hear what his explanation was then make the decision at that time. He finally arrived at 9:45, got out of his truck and didn't say a word. No greeting, no apology, nothing. When we asked him about the delay he said it took him a while to load his equipment into his truck and that traffic was bad. He was very unprofessional. We told him to leave, that we had decided not to use his services. He was surly and blasted us for not phoning him to cancel.By the way, he has the BBB logo on his business card despite not being accredited, his LLC's current status with the Colorado Secretary of State's office is noncompliant and we couldn't find any evidence of his trade license.His ongoing references appear quite satisfactory so perhaps we just got him on a bad day but it really was an unpleasant experience.This unfortunately was our first experience with Angie's List which we're hoping not to repeat .It's a cautionary tale for us and in the future, we'll check all claims made by a contractor prior to the interview.

This is going to sound like Steve is my nephew, but his service was excellent, from start to finish. Our basement had two very large rooms that were unfinished. He framed them up, installed drywall, worked with an electrician colleague to redo the wiring and install ceiling recessed lights, primed and painted the walls and ceiling (also did some plumbing work - a sink and counter and cabinets), and cleaned up thoroughly. He is a good, honest, down-to-earth, hard-working, friendly fellow, and I recommend him without reservation.

I had a roof leak which damaged the ceiling in my office. Steve is a small business so I had to call him to find when he was coming out but when he came out, he did superior work and at a very fair price. We will definitely use him again.

I didn't use Steve has the price quoted me was higher than another provider I found on Angie's List. Regardless, Steve was responsive, punctual, and professional. He responded to my call within a day. He arrived on time the day after our initial contact. He asked a lot of questions so that he was very clear on the scope of the work and also offered advice on painting after the drywall repair. I would call him again.

I am satisfied overall with Steve Gower Drywall & Painting . I plan on having him do more drywall work and handyman work for me.

I have used him twice now. He does good work.

Steve was very prompt with his bid and his work. He did every job I asked, even minor ones. Was very friendly and helpful - even let me borrow his scaffolding to paint my ceiling. Could not have been nicer - will definitely use again.

Their work was done fine and I was very happy with their work. They were very punctual and responsive which is not I can see of other drywall companies I have contacted. They came out to give me an estimate and I stuck to one of their estimates. They were able to do the work on a very timely manner. Then unexpected things came up and some of the things they just did incorporating with their other work. They charged a reasonable price for the additional work they did. It's an old house and we had no way of knowing that additional work was going to come up. They cleaned up after themselves all the drywall stuff to my perfect satisfaction and the garage looks much better now. They really went out of the way to make it look nice in the end which they really didn't have to do. I'm just very glad the way the work turned out to be and it's definitely holding up.

Excellent. Bid was $1400, (in line with one other estimate) and he stuck to the bid, even tho he had to do a bit of extra work because of some unforseen cicumstances (rotten wood had to be repaired/replaced). Very nice man, very competent. Would use him again without reservation. He was on time, he finished on time. Very nice work (excellent). $1500 was very well spent.

The drywall repair and repaint that Steve did was done in a professional manner and at a very fair price. Steve showed up when he said he would to do the work and I was pleased with the results.

It was a bit iffy when he could start because he wasn't sure when the other projects he had lined up would be finished, but I wasn't in a huge hurry so this didn't bother me. Finally we agreed on a time and he was right on time so I could go to work. He actually found a mistake I had made in the framing and offered to go to a home improvement store a few blocks away and get a stud to fix it so he could do his work. He came back the next day as he said he would and finished up. It looks great.

He is excellent. He provided me an honest estimate when other contractors did not. He started when he said he would and he will finish when he said he would. He even put a penalty against himself in the contract if he did not finish on time. The subs that he uses are also fantastic. They are licensed as well. They have all been very polite and professional.
