We love Schaeffer Lawn Sprinkler Co, and we wish every company we dealt with was as honest, timely, and efficient as they are! They replaced our aging system, after maintaining it for many years, with a new, efficient, thorough system that has improved the quality of our lives. They upgraded our plumbing, carefully walked us through operational matters, and even helped us with issues unrelated to to the system itself. It is so gratifying to deal with a great family run business in this era of often transient and unreliable businesses listed on the internet. We trust Schaeffer implicitly.

These guys are an absolute pleasure to work with, and I feel lucky I was referred to them and was able to get on their schedule. I got bids from 7 companies on this project and they gave me the most thorough bid anyone could ask for (including a 5 year warranty) and answered every single question I had. This was a large project (replacing a 50yr old hydraulic system on .75 acres) and they knew exactly what needed to be done. They are very smart, very cordial, very responsive, and very fair. The customer service was truly outstanding and they did a fantastic job from start to finish (completing everything on time). I look forward to working with them going forward.

I've used this company for a couple of years. The servicemen who work for Schaefer are always knowledgeable and professional and complete the work successfully. However, their charges seem very high and the office staff are not very helpful. Schaefer offers a 6 hour window for a service call and the person who handles the scheduling is not the least bit accommodating if you call and ask for a smaller window. She basically gives you a and quot;take it or leave itand quot; attitude. It's challenging to take a whole day off from work to get your sprinklers turned on. My service man took less than 10 minutes to turn the sprinklers on and another 25 minutes to adjust some sprinkler heads that weren't covering well. The bill for this service was $141. This seems very costly for work that isn't highly technical. I will definitely shop around for this service next time.

It is a small company and they are very friendly. They good information on what we needed. They advised us on what type of sprinklers we should get. They showed us the cost comparison. Their bid was not the lowest, but it was the most complete. They did an amazing job. I would recommend them and I would use them again.

Came and did a great, punctual job turning off and blowing out our sprinkler system. But when i asked where I could get an extra-long sprinkler key (ours is too short and makes it hard to turn the sprinkler back on in the summer), he looked up a price and offered to pick one up for us! A few days later it was waiting for us when we got home after work. Awesome!

Tom was great, I had a yard that had never been marked to where the outside connections were. The installer never put in a box and just buried everything, without leaving a diagram or writing where the solenoids were. Tom found everything with a locator, carefully dug around the area so he wouldn't hit any exposed wires and saw he had to rebuild the connects, as well as replace a solenoid. He did this and replaced the grass, so meticulously that after one mowing, you don't even see where he dug into the ground. He finished so fast, that I had him look at a couple of other issues with some heads. He replaced a couple and adjusted others. One of those techs you could appreciate, he did not waste a minute of time, yet was able to answer my questions while he continued to work. When you're paying by the hour, you really appreciate somebody who is not going to waste my money or either of each other's time. If I was to have one negative, If I was to mention any negative and this isn't at all aimed at the tech but a business practice. Charging $84.00 for the first half hour and $96/hour after that, I find a bit high. However if all the techs perform at the speed and professionalism as Tom, you won't be wasting too much of the service charge.

I dealt directly with Bob Schaefer, the owner of the company. Based on Angie's List ratings for irrigation companies it was between Keesen and Schaefer. The full estimate from both companies was within $50 of each other, so the decision did not come down to price. All other things being equal -- price, Angie's List rating, sales pitch, quality of work/materials -- I went with Keesen because they had many more reviews (161 to 26). But I wanted to write this review to commend Bob on his punctuality and professionalism, his Angie's List score of A in all categories is (based on my interactions) well deserved. I had a third company submit a bid as well, Oasis Irrigation and Landscaping in Brighton. His bid came in at 65% higher than Schaefer or Keesen, so he was clearly a rip-off artist. Either that or he drastically over-estimated the amount of work that needed to be done.

Very simple. Came over, blew out sprinklers, said he'd be back in contact in the spring.

Tom figured out what was wrong very quickly and had what was needed to repair it in his truck. He did a great job!

They were very good. They came out the next day after I called and did what they needed to do. My sprinkler system has not tumbled or anything so they must have done a good job. They were good to work with. I do not have anything to compare their prices to.

We needed our sprinkler system blown out as soon as possible after a freeze in November. The guys had a lot on their plates, and we had busy schedules. They were able to come early within about 3 days. My wife did business with them. She thought the guy who showed up was friendly and did a good job. We'd use them again for our sprinkler needs.

I was never there, he came and he did the work. He left the bill as discussed. He said i had a sprinkler leaking in the back yard. I will have to locate it in the spring and repair.

I had a major leak somewhere underground in my sprinkler system. I called this company at a time when they were probably busy blowing out other sprinklers. I had never used that company before, but they came to my house within a few days. They found a manifold underground that had been "attacked" and broken by roots from my trees. They checked for other problems since the system is 17 years old, but found none which seemed very honest. I was pleased with their efficiency and knowledge.

I called and scheduled an appointment and they were ready to come two days later, I asked to be called before they came, which they did. I was not left waiting. The Service Technician was very professional and explained each step of the way. We got tired of paying the extra charges of other companies who would charge by the hour. Shaefer is very clear about how much will it cost to winterize, they even post their rates on their website. I appreciate very much the fact that they have a flat rate and that I am not going to be surprised once the bill arrives. Overall a very positive experience.

They were professional on the phone when I set up the appointment, and they called before the appointment to remind me, which I always appreciate. The man showed up during the specified time slot and he was very thorough and thoughtful. I could see him walking around and checking on all the sprinkler zones as they were being blown out. He didn't complain about the water shut-off being in the crawlspace, and he remembered to shut off the crawlspace light and put the hatch cover back properly, which people usually forget to do. I appreciate it when people pay attention to the little details like that.

They were great. The 2 brothers are professional and do great work. Whenever we call them for simple stuff they are very quick to respond. They are coming back to show us how to shut it off for the winter.

They do an excellent job. They are clean and neat. They are a very honorable and trustworthy company.

There are things I really like about this company. It was not perfect, but very good. I would use them again. I would watch zones one by one with tech to assure all heads are working and properly aimed before he leaves. The hourly charge for this type of work is expensive (by all companies) so verify all is done well before signing off. They did make it right without excuses and I appreciate that.
