Tony, of JD's Plumbing, came the afternoon of the day I called to ask for a quote for the service. He arrived on time, looked at the existing set -up, clearly explained our options for replacement and thoroughly explained why he would or would not recommend each option. I was impressed that he was quite comfortable giving us more than one option. I had already had conversations with two of Denver's 'big players', the ones with fleets of colorful trucks, and was not happy with their customer service, options given, and even less with the breathtaking price one of them proposed to charge. I felt I was getting an honest and fair quote from Tony, shook hands, and the next day he did the work. He made zero mess in the house, did not leave the waste from the job out at the curb until he finished, did not come up with any complications that would require an extra charge. At the end of the job, he left us with a water heater with which we are completely satisfied, gave us a quick lesson on the use and maintenance requirements of the water heater, and a relationship which I'm sure we will continue. It's a great relief finding an honest and competent plumber that we can trust. He's earned the highest recommendation I can give and any repeat business we may have in the future.

I did not have JD's do the work. One toilet was rocking so I tightened the bolts myself in five minutes resolving the problem. The other toilet did not have a forceful flush of water but I repaired it by dissolving the mineral deposits in the channels with muriatic acid. Total cost $8. Total time 2 hours, mostly internet research. Savings over what the plumber would have charged me $1395.

I received a call prior to the arrival of the plumber, as promised. He showed up within the two hour window. The quote for service appeared to come from a "list" on his tablet, making me think the company has set amounts for the cost of services. The work was done quickly, efficiently, and without any snags. My only complaint would be the price,. It seems like a 1 hour job to replace a valve should be less than 300.

He showed up on time, listened to my problem. I had a new shower built where a tub was previously. Water would only get luke warm. House is less than a year old, didn't know where the mixing valves were for any of the major fixtures. He found it, adjusted it and did it in less than an hour.

This is the second time I have used JD's. I had a sink that had a clog deep in the wall. After unsuccessfully attempting to snake the pipe myself, I called JD's. The first plumber came out yesterday and had the same problem of getting around a corner in the pipe that I was running into. It was no big deal. I really struggled on the same corner, so I knew how tricky it was. John came out today and managed to get it cleaned out in 30 minutes. After using the big name plumbers (with the equally big prices) I'm pleased to have found a reliable plumber that doesn't require a second mortgage to pay the bill. I will definitely continue to use them for my future plumbing needs.

I had had another highly rated plumbing company come out to look at this once before but although they attempted to do the same thing, it wasn't enough. I tried JD's on the basis of their rating, being a family owned business and the fact that they advertised that they did small jobs. The receptionist was excellent; after scheduling an appointment two days hence, she called back to reschedule when an opening occurred the same day I called. Michael was prompt, knowledgeable, personable and honest. There was no full court press to sell me a new heater, but rather a discussion about his policy of repair and maintenance first which I ascribe to as well. Plus the charge was less than the other company. I will use JD's again and recommend them to friends and family who need a great plumbing company.
Description of Work: Checked out our water heater which had a very slow leak from the drain faucet. Michael was able to tighten the faucet and added a brass cap which completely stopped the leak. He just charged me the "show up" fee of $ 25.

It went very well. I did use them again after that. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for JD's Plumbing Service Inc. The reason I originally called them was because I had a problem with my kitchen sink and they fixed that. Ultimately, I hired them to replace my hot water heater and they checked a number of other things inside my house. The last thing I hired them to do was check my sewer line- it was backing up. They came and checked that and replaced the actual sewer line.

I initially called JD's plumbing to take a look at some rusted pipes at my water heater. I had just bought the house and knew I had some issues with rust in my water. The home inspector told me that I more than likely would need to replace all the pipes in the house. John came out on the scheduled day. Things were running a bit late but I was called twice with updates on the time and because I have a very flexible schedule this was not a problem. When John arrived I showed him the water heater and explained the rust problem. He asked if he could check the rest of the house so I showed him around. He then went down into the crawl space. Once he was done with the inspection he went through the details of his findings and as I had suspected the whole plumbing system needed to be replaced. The water in my house was bright orange and my cats wouldn't drink it so I was only confirming my suspicion. John wrote up an estimate and to my surprise it was $4600 lower than one previous estimate and $1600 less than another estimate which made me very happy. John walked me through the details which included a few free items and the appointment was set. On the day of the appointment John and his co-worked Michael showed up at exactly the scheduled appointment time. They ran me through the process and got started right away. Both John and Michael were great. They showed me everything they were doing and gave me a ton of tips for future work that I can do myself. Both guys were so friendly and professional. I am not very comfortable with people in my house but I relaxed and really enjoyed having them in. In the afternoonthe owner John came by to see how things were going which really impressed me. Both guys doing the job worked late at no extra charge. With this big of a job a few unexpected things came up like the water hester not restarting. A part was replaced at no extra charge and the job was completed at the estimated price. i bought an older home and have plans to do more work over the next few years. I will not even bother to call any other plumbing company but JD's Plumbing. I now have beautiful clear running water in my house and have had no issues. I am extremely happy with the work.

We purchased an Angies List deal of $20 for $40 worth of services plus a voucher for $25 off additional work performed at the same time. The plumber, John, was nice enough, and called to say he was delayed in getting to the appointment due to traffic. Forty five minutes later, he arrived. He looked at the running toilet, and told us he would replace the valve assembly, which he quickly did. John told my husband the price before he started, and although the price was very high, and since we had purchased the deal, we had him do the work anyway. He then looked at our bar sink and explained that, faucets like the one we had was special and he could not fix the leak as the washers were inside the hardware. He said the whole faucet would have to be replaced. As he was explaining this to my husband, I looked at similar faucets online, and there were many. They ran between $125 and $300 for the high end. Additionally, all the repair parts were listed online , including the washers! At this point, I told my husband the information, but John insisted it was not repairable. He quoted a price of $274 for installation if we purchased the faucet ourselves. We did not accept his offer, and just wanted to pay for the toilet repair, which was $186! The parts were like the ones you could get at Lowe's. I Iverbalized my shock at he amount charged, and he said he would apply the $40 deal to the amount, making the total $146. John was pleasant and friendly, but it was difficult to focus on that when he gave us his bill and estimate for the bar sink. We would definitely not use or recommend this company.

I scheduled an appointment for 8am so I wouldn't be too late for work. They called the day before to confirm and when I asked if it was still 8am they told me it was actually a window from 8-10am. Not the end of the world but it would have been nice to say this upfront. On the day of the appointment, 30 minutes into the appointment window, I get a phone call from them telling me they don't service my area because I'm in the mountains. Besides the fact that I'm 12 minutes from downtown Boulder, it is incredibly frustrating that they waited until the appointment time to let me know this fact. Highly unprofessional!

We noticed a leak at the bottom seal of our hot water heater last night at about 10:30 pm. I called John At JD's Plumbing Service at about 8:00 am and got a call back for him about 6 minutes later. I called John first because we remodeled our kitchen about a year ago and he did extensive work for us including moving all our major kitchen plumbing lines, installing the sink fixtures and under sink plumbing and dishwasher, installing new gas lines for our new gas cook top and he even drew up our gas plan for the city of Westminster to review. We were so happy with the quality and cost of his work, we didn't even think of calling anyone else when this new problem popped up. John remembered us from the remodel and offered to come out on Saturday to install a new water heater so we agreed to a time and hung up. He then called me back a few minutes later to tell me he had found a way to squeeze me in today between two and four. One of his crew members, also named John, arrived promptly at two. He assessed the situation and made his recommendations. Now, I love JD's Plumbing because of the quality of their work and competitive prices, but I feel what really sets them apart is their honesty and integrity. I have absolute faith that what they say is true and the prices they quote and ultimately charge are not only fair, but very competitive. I feel like they treat me the way they would one of their friends or family. I've been considering a tankless hot water heater since I bought my home and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Though they could have done the work, charged me a small fortune and laughed all the way to the bank, John (owner) and John (technician) instead talked to us about why a tankless system may not be they best system for our home. It would have been the better system for them. It would have been a two day job and likely more than twice as much as what I eventually paid and I would have paid it, but with both John's guidance, knowledge and reasoning, I feel that we made the absolute best decision for our family. It would have been so easy for them to push the more expensive option, but that is not the way John or JD's works. They want and do what is best for their customers. Anyway, about a year before we bought our house, the previous owners installed their own hot water heater. And boy did it show. There were copper water pipes all over the room where the heater is located, the purpose of many was completely unclear. Infact, last night when I was trying to shut off the water to the water heater, it took me several minutes to figure out which pipe turned the water supply off to the tank. All the pipes were so intimidating that when we first moved in, we called a plumber (not JD's) to get a quote to get new lines and the quote we got was $1000. John did it today for $394 and it was no easy task. We now have a new water heater, and expansion tank, a drip pan and valve, but we also have recognizable plumbing and far less of it. We also now have two valves that are very easy to shut off. We could not be happier with the work. I would recommend John and JD's Plumbing to everyone. They do amazing work at very reasonable prices and from now on, they are the only plumber that we will call.
Description of Work: Drained and removed old hot water heater. Then installed new 50 gallon hot water heater with 10 year warranty, drip pan, expansion tank, pressure release valve, ball valve shut offs, partial new gas line and removing, fixing and installing a lot of new plumbing line.

Scheduling was very easy and the office staff was extremely kind and professional. I received a call from the office to let me know my technician, Tony, was on his way. When Tony arrived he introduced himself and confirmed the services I requested. He detailed the costs before getting started, which I really appreciate. Tony walked me through what he would be doing step by step. It was great to have the whole service explained to me thoroughly so there would be no surprises. If Tony ran into a problem, he would ask my permission to change the original plan. I was caring for my daughter who is recovering from surgery and Tony was respectful of both of us during his time at my home. He was very clean and quite the expert at what he does. I would definitely use this company again.

I recently asked for an estimate to install two sump pump alarms, an exposed 5' long pipe extension on the exterior of my house (very simple--1 piece of 1 1/2and quot; diam PVC and 1 elbow), and an alternate to extend the height of my sump pit roughly 1 foot (taller not deeper). I then received a quote via email for $2575 with no supporting material--no description of the what types of alarms were to be installed, no line item for the optional sump pump height extension, just BAM $2575. When I asked for that material I got no response. To give you an idea or how ridiculously overpriced that quote was, two high-end sump pump alarms cost $300 (total) on Amazon and take roughly an hour to install, the PVC pipe, elbow, pipe primer and cement cost $20 and took roughly 20 minutes to install. If I had accepted this quote, I would have paid the plumber $28 per MINUTE to perform this work!!! I don't know if the plumber simply didn't understand what I was asking of him. Or if he simply didn't want to do the work. Or just assumed that I would be naive enough to pay whatever price was quoted me without doing any research on my own. Whatever the reason, I will never deal with this company again. I would advise other customers to request detailed estimates of all work being performed including the type/brand and cost of all materials so that they can make informed decisions.

I bought his deal through Angie's List, $20 for $40 worth of plumbing services. I sent him an email listing my 3 preferred days for an appointment. No response from him. Two days later I left him a phone message saying I would appreciate the courtesy of a response, that I did not need the work done immediately, but I would like to have an appointment. Today it is four days since I first bought his deal, and I have had no response whatsoever. Angie's List is refunding me the $20, since this man is obviously not interested in obtaining a new customer. I highly recommend that no one hire this plumber in the future since he is not reliable or professional, no matter what kind of quality work he might or might not perform
