They specialize just in flooring and their selection is terrific. Their service was great and their price was about as good as it could be.
Description of Work: We did have some flooring put in by carpet exchange- we used them twice for some final flooring.

When expected delivery time passed carpet was not delivered and no calls from company were received to tell us of status. We called Carpet Exchange store and often were put into sales person's voicemail with no return calls. We started making calls on 3/24/14. Upon reaching him one time he promised a callback with status and did not call. Finally reached salesperson and told us the binding company was late getting work done. Promised a delivery status by 4/4 and did not call. Contacted him again the week of 4/7 and he promised to deliver rug afternoon of 4/14. We waited at home for the delivery and he did not show. Never received a call from Carpet Exchange. Turned out he had taken day off and forgot to arrange for delivery. On 4/15, he promised delivery on 4/18 between 3:00-4:00 PM. Did not show. Called again and talked to salesperson @ 4:20; indicated he would try to get carpet delivered by 5:00. Carpet finally arrived @ 5:45. The carpet is well made and meets our expectations. Only the service was unsatisfactory.
Description of Work: Purchased a 9x9 carpet on 3/3/14 that was supposed to be bound and delivered to our residence in 3-4 weeks.

Although there were parts of the purchase from Carpet Exchange that were okay, overall we would say we were dissatisfied with the experience. Regarding the vinyl floor tile, we were sold both grout and adhesive. Maybe we should have known better but our contractor only used the adhesive. When we realized that we weren't going to use the grout, Carpet Exchange refused the return request since it had been ~6 weeks since the original purchase (shelf life is 1 year). He turned the situation into another selling opportunity by trying to get us to buy something else (like an area rug) with the cost of the grout discounted from the price. This was our second major purchase from Carpet Exchange. I would have thought that they could have eaten the $90 out of good faith. Regarding the countertop, we were misinformed as far as what the cost of the countertop material included. We were told that a certified Samsung installer was required and we couldn't use our contractor. We were okay with this as we were told by the salesperson that the countertop material included tear out and installation (including the sinks). The only thing that wasn't included was the plumbing of the sinks (disconnect and reconnect). When the contractor did the measurements, we got a different story. The only thing included in the countertop material cost was the installation. Everything else was extra. We tried to reach the salesperson and we were told that she was not available anymore. No reason given. We never did hear from her again. There was no effort to try to honor what we thought we were buying when we place the order. Our contractor was nice enough to deduct the extra countertop cost from his total bill. The countertop installation could have gone a little better. They scuffed up our walls during the installation (which they admitted to and apologized for) but they left a ~1/4-3/8" gap between the countertop and the mirror. It looked unfinished. Regardless of whether it is within their scope of work, I would have expected them to help figure out a solution. We had to install shims between the mirror and countertop out of the concern that the mirror was no longer properly supported. I remember thinking that if I wanted it done half-assed, I would have done it myself. Again, our contractor came to the rescue and helped us figure out a solution. Lastly, we are extremely disappointed with the follow-up of Carpet Exchange or lack thereof. There was no follow-up call to see if we were happy with the installation. There was no final bill sent (they did charge the credit card). We had to make the trip to Carpet Exchange to get the final bill.
Description of Work: We utilized Carpet Exchange for the purchase and installation of a new quartz countertop and the purchase only of Armstrong vinyl floor tile for our bathroom. Their installer performed the removal of the old countertop and installation of the new. They also did measurements, made the template and reinstalled/plumbed the old sinks.
