Description of Work: We had a problem with toilet not flushing correctly. They showed me what was wrong, tested the rest of the toilet and got out in a reasonable time.

Description of Work: I set up the appointment two days ago, then 15 minutes before they were to arrive, I received a call saying they did not have anyone available for the appointment today. They had promised on Monday that they could perform the service to winterize my swamp cooler because the temperature was dropping below freezing. Very disappointed with their unprofessionalism and poor customer service

Description of Work: I had a water leak in one of my toilets, I became aware of that when the water co. told me I had used an extra 1,000 gals. last mo. I went thru Angies list to get a 5 point check up for 2 toilets. Cost was $50. I had a quick response from Applewood via email...I in turn set up an appt. The morning of the appt. I was contacted by Applewood and was told that I had been sent an e mail with a picture of the serviceman and his credentials so I would know who to expect. I looked into my e mail and was impressed with his yrs of being in the business, and how long he had worked for Applewood. He was prompt, very professional, found the problem in the 2nd bathroom. Gave me a quote which I thought was a bit much. After he explained the parts he was replacing, and showed me the old ones. I could see that it was better quality, plus the guarantee is for 2 yrs. So all in all the price was acceptable to me. I cannot say enough about Jaime R. His professionalisim, his appearance and he was prompt. He answered every question that I asked him. He took his time and did a great job. So from start to finish, I cannot say enough about Angies List and the companys that she has on her web site. This is my 3rd experience, the other two were other types of companys. Thanks, A grateful Customer

The Service man was prompt , and very professional. He answered all my questions and helped me feel safe. I am disabled and on a very fixed income. We all worked together to make this repair happen. Description of Work: The work was done quite some time ago, but after I joined Angie's List & saw that Applewood P&H was on there, I felt I just had to say something. A plumber from Applewood came to my house to check on a malfunctioning outdoor water spigot. His diagnosis was "It's froze up". He replaced the spigot & handed me a bill for just under $500! A day or so later, I found a new water leak from the same plumbing line at the next pipe junction where the indoor water shut-off valve is located. Call it a coincidence if you wish, but I don't think so! I called Applewood back to report their plumber had fixed one problem and created a new one. They sent someone different out several days later to check on it. He took a quick look and refused to accept responsibility claiming (you guessed it) "It's froze up". He suggested extensive plumbing work. At that point, I told him the conversation was over and he left. The next week, I had another plumber look at the new leak. He said the line was loosened by the Applewood plumber when he originally replaced the outdoor spigot. He stopped the new leak in less than a minute and told me it was so minor that he wasn't even going to charge me for it! To sum it up, Applewood is the epitome of the rip-off plumbing company. I would suggest that anyone considering calling a plumber try calling another company. However, if you want to pay exorbitant prices for questionable work and poor customer service, then Applewood is the plumber for you!
