We went with someone else and in digging out the sewer line, found that it was not broken but rather just severely clogged with roots. We thankfully used an awesome person (JDR Excavating) who did great work at a fraction of everyone else's prices, but still dug up a good sewer line based upon Applewood's mis-diagnosis. I would recommend not doing business with these people.

I was given an estimate of $1005.11 for parts only. I decided to pay the estimate fee and shop around. The first place I called offered to do the job with labor included for less than 50% of the part cost Applewood would have charged me. I ended up saving over $500.00.

The maintenance service is okay but I thought their price for the light fixture installation was high. I also didn't like the fact that they placed large stickers with their number on the furnace without checking with me first. I wouldn't use them again for the electrical work, but I will continue to use them for the maintenance of my heating and a/c.

To be honest the job was done perfectly and very efficiently, but the price was too high. They charged $760 for the a/c. They told me that a new unit would cost me $6000 and $2500 for the outlet box. Even if they did a great job I wouldn't hire them again because of what they charge.

They installed my water heater the next day after I called them. I appreciated that the serviceman that did the work even called me before he came out to the house. The company is certified and insured.

I am very pleased with the service provided. I thought the price was a bit steep. The end result is great because now I have central A/C and heating. I would use and recommend their service.

They really did a great job for us. Even though their price was a little on the high side we didn't mind paying for the work to be done right. They were very professional and efficient in their work.

Very well - the technician was available earlier than the scheduled time, so a dispatcher called to ask if he could come early. He described the problem with the toilet, quoted the price of the work, and completed the work promptly. He was friendly, professional, and competent. Applewood was the only company out of three that I called that was available to come on the same day.

They came out within 2 hours. They charged us $39.95 for a house visit. They gave us an estimate of $2800 to replace the hot water heater that same day (Sunday). They tried to explain that their heater was better than any other and warranted the additional cost. We quickly paid the $39.95 and sent him on his way. At the end, we went to a local hardware chain and purchased a premium hot water heater and installation for less than $500.

The intake fan on my furnace was not working. Applewood quoted a price of $830 just for the replacement part. I decided to get a second opinion and received much better and less expensive service from Braconier Plumbing and Heating. He took out the original fan and oiled it well, so my furnace would work until a replacement fan could be installed and gave me the option of just keeping the newly oiled fan. I decided to replace it at $198 for the new fan. It was quite a difference from the price of $830 quoted to me by Applewood Plumbing and Heating!

The price was $400 and the guy was a little scary. He told me that the work I'd already had done looked bad, and he kind of made fun of my house. He just made me uncomfortable. I had another plumber come out to fix his work.

When I called inquiring about a furnace replacement estimate, Emily (I am guessing she is the receptionist) was a bit rude. She first wanted some personnel information from me, and then I mentioned that I have some questions first, and would like to talk to someone about a furnace replacement. She then indicated that they are not taking on new customers. If that is the case, why are you advertising on Angie s list and why is your receptionist asking for personnel information before stating the company s position with new clients? Nice way to keep potential clientele happy!

Excellent service. They were on time and quickly found the problem. Gave me some hints on how to prevent future problems. Very clean and the cost was fair for the work done. Will use them again.

I called Applewood to schedule an appointment, and was very pleased that they were able to send someone within two hours. The serviceman took great care to not leave any mess, and he even carried a small vacuum to clean as he worked. I appreciated that he was uniformed and displayed a picture ID. The plumber inspected the tub and performed a minor repair that completely fixed the leak. I presented him with a coupon for a free service call, and there was no additional charge. I would hire them again in a second.

Not impressed. The fact that they had no interest in my business makes it so I would not go to them for anything else.

The technician was prompt and courteous. The estimate for the job was $895.80 which I thought was high. They do not break down the cost into parts and labor so it was impossible to judge if it was appropriate. Because we needed it done that day, I ok'd the price and he started work. When I reached my husband he said it was too high. We charged it on the credit card. It was difficult to reach the supervisor for our complaint. The supervisor was courteous and referred us to another manager. After we said we would charge back our payment on the credit card, we negotiated a price of 50% of the original price.

Excellent service! Plumber was prompt and clean. He wore booties in the house so as not to track in dirt. Suggested a service contract but didn't pressure me for it. He quoted me a price for both the new faucet and a shut off valve and when I blanched at the price, he gave me the shut off valve for no charge and no cost for parts.

They did a good job and finished it the same day. The new faucets work well and still look new. There aren't any leaks, like how the old faucets were.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. HE WAS VERY POLITE AND QUICK. HE WAS DRESSED NICE FOR A PLUMBER. HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND FURTHER VISITS WEREN'T NECESSARY.

APPLEWOOD HAD BEEN OUT IN MARCH TO REPAIR THE FURNACE DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAD NO HEAT. ONE MONTH LATER, ALMOST TO THE DAY, WE ONCE AGAIN EXPERIENCED NO HEAT, AND IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT WE REPLACE THE FURNACE. THE AMOUNT OF $489.52 WAS DISCOUNTED FROM THE COST; I BELIEVE THIS WAS THE COST OF LABOR FROM THE MARCH REPAIRS...
