Be aware their prices are exorbitant and way above other companies. The price they gave me for a new basic furnace was about double what other major companies quoted me. Also, they do not offer major name brand furnaces but only their own private labeled furnaces. Also, the estimator they sent had obviously not ever installed a furnace and was a salesperson so really could not answer detailed questions about installation, etc.

The technician that installed a new hose bib was not very professional. He did not use heat protection so the pipe he was soldering started to melt part of my PVC radon system and was rude when I said I didn't want to pay until I talked to management about the damage. They ended up sending out a master plumber who was much better. Their prices are way out of line with the competition and charge by the job rather than the actual time they spend. I recommend finding an independed master plumber unless you are in a bind and then be sure to ask for a master plumber and be aware of their exorbitant pricing.

Applewood’s scheduling department was courteous and accommodating. Applewood told me they worked on the brand of water heater, but couldn’t quote the job until they saw the unit. The manufacturer sent the part, so all Applewood had to do to was install the part, their entire cost was labor. Applewood’s technician showed up and was courteous. The applewood technician quoted me $800+ to replace the valve (again, labor only because I had the new part). When I refused and asked the Applewood tech and his assistant to leave, he said it would only be $700 if I joined some kind of Applewood maintenance club. This was price gouging on Applewood’s part. Applewood apparently likes to prey on people without hot water in the hope customers will pay ridiculous fees when out of hot water. I called the manufacturer of the hot water heater who recommended a technician in the area who replaced the valve for $145. It took less than 1-hour for the tech to replace the valve. He too was courteous, but also had honesty and integrity. I recommend avoiding Applewood.

Did not hire. Seemed extremely expensive. Bought a nice AO Smith 50 gallon water heater with 9yr warranty and installed myself for $700.

I had a blocked sewer drain, and experienced flooding in my laundry. I called Applewood, as they were easy to find via the web. They showed up quickly, which was a positive. Their initial thoughts on diagnosis were not good, as they guy who showed up suggested running all the faucets to recreate the flood (not smart in my view). I suggested he scope the drain, which he finally did. Long story short, these guys are responsive, but no better than any other company in regards their abilities. Plus, they charge 3 - 5 times more than competitors. The quote they offered, to have the sewer redone was between $11K - $20K. I thought that was outrageous. I found another company that did it for $8K and they were far more competent than Applewood. Be wary before you call Applewood.

All projects have been a breeze. Their weekend and evening hours are wonderful. The technicians are professional, and fully explain what's going to happen on the project and when, in terms a non-technician would understand. They thoroughly review the "up front" price quote for the work to be done and if there is a range of pricing depending on the project, the technician takes the time to go over all the options.

Quality of work was good but very overpriced.

I discovered a leak on Saturday evening at 8pm. I had to shutoff water to the entire house as there were no line shutoffs under the kitchen sink. I called Applewood Plumbing and their dispatcher said a tech could be sent on Sunday between 3 and 5 PM. I agreed to the appointment and stressed the fact that ALL water was off to the home. I received a call from another dispatcher(Andrea) at 2pm Sunday asking if they could move the appointment to Monday as all their techs were tied up for the rest of the day. I declined again stressing I had no water service at all. She agreed to send an 'On Call' plumber who arrived at 5pm. Mark(the tech) was very courteous, professional and efficient. He gave me a quote of $483 to replace two 18 supplies and install shutoff valves none of which required any soldering. As the faucet was dripping I asked him to quote the job also with replacing the faucet. That quote was $1150. I felt the pricing was very high and that I was backed into a corner. I declined the $700 additional to replace the faucet and authorized the supply line and shutoffs. On Monday I purchased a new Delta faucet and contacted a handyman from Angie's list for installation. Total was $140 for installation and $80(on sale) for the faucet. Applewood contacted me afterward for a referral which I declined even after they gave a $75 refund on the job. If they would have initially priced the job $75 lower I would not have felt so violated and the refund suggests they are aware of their pricing issues. I understand that they are in business for a profit, but I feel they have taken advantage of the Sunday occurrence and my vulnerable position. As I stated the work performed was very professional and I have no issue with the tech at all. He does not do the pricing and is in the middle. The company could probably make more sales if they carried a range of several price point replacement fixtures instead of just the most expensive.

This vendor was very knowledgeable about the plumbing issues that I was having. Great consultation.

The quote for the recessed lighting was about 5x more expensive than other quotes that I've gotten. I did not get any electrical work done but I will say that the technician who came out, Tom, was courteous, punctual, and professional. The plumbing work was done by another technician, Greg. He was also courteous, punctual, and professional. He not only assessed the project I called about but did a quick home inspection to assess any other projects I might need help with. When he fixed the leaky shower faucet, it was done quickly and efficiently and he explained what the problem was.

OK with the office - not with the installer. I may or may not try them again.

The 3 of the 5 overpriced toilets have had to have a repair, and 1 of the 2 main electrical jobs have required repairs, all within the two year warranty. Now, out of warranty timeframe, they are charging us for the same issue that has never been resolved. I had an appointment timeframe from 3-5, they could not make it so moved to 5-7. At 7pm, I got a call from the same tech that has been here 2x before and told me they would charge us for the whole job and could not perform the job at night.

I was very happy with them. I've used them several times now and am always pleased with their service. They are also very responsive if you have an emergency.

The return visit on Monday took awhile for someone to come out. The put a camera through the line and advised that it will required replacement sooner than later. If we want the video that's another 380.00 on top of the $489.00 to snake the line that we paid the day before. Of the estimate to replace the line $18,000!!!!!

Excellent job. Applewood is not cheap but their work is outstanding. Professional, prompt, outstanding service. Emmitt was fabulous.

They got their Snake stuck in my main sewer drain. They said it would be $12,000 to fix the root bound line. While getting other bids the compititors removed the tool that was left in my drain and the line was completely cleared. It was all very strange how easily the next plumber was able to get the snake out so easily.

I would never recommend them again. They overcharge for everything. He charged me $8,000 for a power box. They overcharged on other things. I mean they do good work, I can't complain about that but no they're liars. I mean, I was so foolish the thing was really breaking down. Without doing a cost comparison, I just did it but then I realized later that I'd really been overcharged. I had been using them for routine plumbing things and they're prices weren't the greatest but they're confidence seemed high so being dumb as I am I never questioned there veracity. I mean they make a big point of how they're super honest, on top of things guys. I had used them for many other events the likes of which I can't even recount. I had been doing some remodeling in my house and in one of the bedrooms the outlet starting sparking so they came out right away. I will give them credit for that, punctuality not a problem.The guy showed me how indeed the fuse box was really screwing up. There were little flames that had left carbon deposits. So he says I've got one right now if you want to do it. It was $8,000. I can't believe I paid that. It was for the whole fuse box. It was crazy.

They came out on a Saturday night at 9 at night and did the entire pipe Saturday, put it back together, put a valve on so we could shut it off. The guy was wonderful. He was really, really, good.

Service is excellent! they do have qualified technician. We have always been satisfied with their work, professionalism and quality. They are licensed. They are a little bit on the high end for price.

It worked out perfect. They are a great team and I like them a lot.

They are probably just like any body else. They are probably a little on the high side. We've had one guy out and this goes back to last winter. We had service on the furnace and a part had to be replaced and then we needed a new hot water heater. That was done and in the spring he went through the air conditioner and the capacitor was leaking oil and he replaced that. He always explains very, very clearly what he has done and why, and has just been a pleasure to deal with.
