The Fireplace Doctor came in and fixed the issue rearranging the layout of the gaslog. Now, the fireplace looks and works great.

They tried to repair my old set, but couldn't get necessary parts. Was a little difficult to get information on new unit. Went to their office to finally get it. They ordered unit and installed it. Installation was very professional and technician very knowledgeable and gave me credit for first service call.

The technician was very professional, explained what he was doing and why and what the cost would be for each item, thus giving me the option to make a decision as to whether or not to proceed. In a few days they gave me a follow-up call to make sure everything was OK. About a month later I had some questions and a technican called back in ten minutes and talked me through a solution. All their work is guaranteed and a trip out if needed would have been free of charge. The Fireplace Doctor gives outstanding (higher then excellent) service at a moderate price and are professional in every respect. They will always be on my list of who to call in the furure. I have referred them to my friends and they have all had a similar experience. A truly great company!

One of our gas fireplaces wouldn't ignite. I found "The Fireplace Doctor" on Angie's List and gave them a call. They came out to fix it and arrived very punctually. Ryan was the technician they sent. He found and fixed the problem, then also cleaned the whole thing inside and out. He did such a nice job I had him go ahead and service the other fireplace while he was here. An excellent experience!

The Fireplace Doctor repair technician was on time. They ended up cleaning the fireplace and all connections and verifying that everything was in order. I had expected to have to replace the sparker mechanism for starting the pilot, but it actually just needed a thorough cleaning and removal of dust that had accumulated. (My fireplace is behind glass and very difficult to access, so it hasn't had a thorough cleaning in several years.) I have a nice, clean gas fireplace and it works great! They are perhaps a little pricey, but the quality of the work is commensurate with the price. Professional service commands a professional price, and it is very good value for money.

When we moved in two and half years ago, we smelled gas. So, we turned off the fireplace and have not used it. We anticipated it costing a lot to repair so we hesitated to have work done on it. We finally decided to have it fixed. Fireplace Dr. found a couple of problems, cleaned it thoroughly, and were very thorough in completing the job. Ryan, our technician, was very professional and friendly. Also, he was able to come earlier than scheduled, but called to verify if that would be ok. We didn't get a blower installed today, but plan on using the Fireplace Dr. to install a blower for next year's winter season.

The experience was eye opening for us. We did not realize when we bought our house that we had a dangerous situation with our downstairs fireplace. The home inspector should have caught this, but did not. We are very relieved and grateful that the technician from the Fireplace Doctor was thorough in his work.

The entired experience was extremely positive. Mr. Banzhaf initially came to look at the job and provide an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and provided ideas on how to update the unit without going to all the trouble and expense of replacing it. He listened to what I wanted and superly provided suggestions on how to improve the overall look / operation. When we decided to use his services, the process went smoothly. He ordered the necessary equipment / parts and within 10 days the work was complete. His install team was extremely conscientious and very detail-oriented. We love the update and are looking forward to using our fireplace this winter. Highly recommend!

Overall, it was a very good visit. My wife and some family members who were there at the time commented how nice and professional he was. The end result: the fireplace is better than ever and I know that it is functioning as required. I feel safer. Of note, we were told that they discount $20 during the summer. I would say July/Aug might be a good time to call, check on the discount, for a yearly inspection/cleaning.

Ryan and Ben arrived exactly on time and did an outstanding job. My chair was right in front of the fireplace so I learned a lot! A drop cloth was used to protect the floor. Two very pleasant men and they make a great team. They had all the tools they seemingly could ever need and kept them very neat and orderly. Big bonus: they were a lot of fun--I didn't mind the long work day at all--I actually enjoyed it. The owner, Emil came by to look over the gas accessibily issue. These are three professionals I would recommend to anyone.

Good experience with this company. They were early arriving (called first). Took less than an hour to service and repair fireplace.

When I called, the receptionist was very helpful and professional. An appointment was scheduled within the week. Ryan arrived on time, inspected the fireplace, removed the logs, cleaned the fireplace thoroughly, lit the pilot light, cleaned the glass, replaced the logs and answered all my questions. I was especially pleased with the whole process. I will definitely recommend Fireplace Doctor to others and will use them again.

Our gas logs quit working and we were told they needed to be replaced. Our chimney sweep had recommended The Fireplace Doctor so I contacted them via email. No reply. It turned out our gas logs could be repaired and another company did that for us, so now we don't need an estimate from The Fireplace Doctor. I might have become their customer if they had contacted me and come to look at our fireplaces - they might have been the one that fixed the gas logs! I might become their customer in the future - they DID contact me in addition to responding on Angie's List - I appreciate that kind of customer service.

Outstanding service - found the Fireplace Doctor here on Angie's list, and scheduled an appointment to have our Gas fireplace fixed, inspected and tested. We bought the house 2 years ago and when we tried the fireplace, it wouldn't light and we could smell a very odd burning odor coming from the fireplace, so we got nervous and turned it all off. With company coming for the holidays, we decided it would be great to have a nice fire - if the repair bill wasn't too expensive. The appointment was made quickly and he was exactly on time. He charges $95 an hour, stayed for a long time helping us out and talking (probably 1.5 hours) and charged us for only the first hour. He actually found that a rubber kids bouncy ball was stuck in the artificial logs, and that was what was causing the nasty smell, not a gas leak. Very honest, friendly and knowledgeable guy - I absolutely recommend you call on him.

Ben arrived exactly at the appointed time and quickly took a look at our fireplace. He showed me each damaged part, what it does, and how much to replace. He also told us that the fireplace could easily be used as wood burning with just a few modifications. He completely cleaned the fireplace...even wiping clean the glass screen! He checked the flue and told us when we would next need a sweeping and then plugged the gas line to the fireplace. He even told me where to get the best deal on firewood. We asked for an estimate on a new set of logs for gas burning and I received that estimate right on time. Great and honest company and won't hesitate to use them again and will refer them gladly to our friends.
