On the strength of reviews from Angies List, I reached out to Helping Hands using the Angies List coupon for a team of three movers for 4 hours. I got an almost immediate response and scheduled them to do the move. They arrived early at the storage facility and work seemed to progress pretty quickly. The team of 3 movers had different level of experiences and professionalism. They were however getting the job done. That all changed at lunch, we picked up lunch for the team. But during lunch the driver just left. No driver meant there was an almost empty truck in my driveway with no way to get a second load out of storage. The remaining teams members let their dispatcher know, and with nothing else to do, finished emptying the truck. Not too long later, two more guys arrived to help finish. With four guys working (and one of them boss), they made generally quick work of what was left. To apologize for the inconvenience, they gave me 10% discount on the billed amount beyond the original booking, though that came to about $30. On the plus side, they were careful with all stuff. When one item broke the mover pointed it out to me immediately, which was a nice and much better than previous experience with other movers. (they were not all fault for the broken item, it was "pre-broken"). I'd have rated the company a solid B, I think, if not for the bad experience of the driving leaving and being left in limbo as to what would be next for an hour. Moving is already stressful, having that go wrong on top was just too much; and as a result I cannot recommend Helping Hands.

We are a retired military family familiar with moving and by far this was the best experience we have had. Steve's team was punctual, professional and careful. They hustled the entire day but with care and courtesy.

Overall, the guys were great. On time, hard workers, friendly. The price was competitive. We had them move our whole house over a couple of days. My only concern is that some of my furniture was scratched. They staged things to load on the truck in the garage, and I saw they had boxes and crates on top of some of my tables. I was mildly concerned at the time, but as I moved furniture around in the new house, I noticed several scratches across the surface of my tables. Also they did not bubble wrap or stretch wrap my office desk furniture and bookcases, and as a result their dolly left nicks on the bottom and sides of a few pieces and one of the desk doors does not close correctly. They were going to try to move it without taking it apart, but my husband insisted they take it apart first. I would hire again, but with reservation and would be much more specific of how the furniture is prepared and protected. I wouldn't think I'd have to be so watchful though.

Awesome company. Courteous, hard working, and very careful with our items. Made the moving experience much more pleasant. Will definitely use again and recommend them highly.

Steve, the owner, was informative and accommodated our evolving needs. The movers were prompt and friendly. Our move was completed as promised, at a reasonable cost and with no problems. I highly recommend Steve and Helping Hands Moving.

They were on time and professional. They were able to help troubleshoot some tricky items.

These guys were prompt, professional and went above and beyond, even helping shovel snow from our driveway while they waited for us to arrive. They managed to get our belongings into one truck -- thereby saving us money -- when they could easily have said we needed two, as our original estimate indicated we might. We did weed our belongings, but still weren't sure it was enough to get into one truck. The way they packed that truck was amazing, and all of our belongings arrived unscathed, 120 miles from where they started. Another plus: They didn't charge us extra to hold our belongings overnight. The other bidders wanted to charge us $300 extra. So yes, they get an A and a strong recommendation from us.

I called Helping Hands, asked for help "as soon as possible." They said if I could be flexible then they could work me in the next day (awesome). They gave me a time range with a 30 minute call-ahead. The next day they called and were there in 30 minutes at the early part of the time range they gave me. Very happy with scheduling, promptness, call-ahead. I showed the two gentlemen what I needed moved, including the (relatively heavy) treadmill. They were able to get it all moved, zero damage, zero issues. They were efficient and very helpful. I would hire Helping Hands again. Thanks!

They (Mike and Tony) showed up on time ready to work and were very professional and friendly. They had my husband and I show them what needed to be moved where and it was apparent they wanted to do the job right. They did and in less than a half hour! They made it look easy, especially moving my piano. Their office contact was also friendly, professional and easy to work with answering my questions and scheduling. I believe her name was Betty. They came in with the best price and on top of it gave us a discount. I highly recommend Helping Hands and will use them in the future.

It was ok. There was a lot of joking going on, my daughter and I are easy to joke with but I think it took up quite a bit of time. Then there want room in the truck for all of our stuff. The price was already a lot more than I expected so I couldn't afford for them to come back for another load. As to if I would hire them again, i really don't know.

Had a bit of a communication problem with the scheduler as the moving team thought they were only there to move pre-packed boxes and furniture. However, with a quick phone call, they were on to come back in a week to finish up the move. The "Team" consisted of Michael, Andrae and Mark. We couldn't ask for a more professional, respectful, responsive team. "No" was not in their vocabulary. They worked hard and moved fast, always making certain that everything was just how I wanted! Shoot, even my husband isn't that attentive ;) Upon moving an entertainment center, a pane of glass was broken. Michael took the pane back to the company to have it replaced. About two weeks later he phoned to ask if he could deliver the new pane. Upon arrival, he asked if he could put it in place. What??? Absolutely the best service ever!

Excellent! No issues at all. Both loading and unloading were smooth and easy, plus everyone was very pleasant to deal with.

Helping hands came with 3 movers that were able to move everything without an issue (which was different than my prior movers). They didn't damage any walls or furniture so it was a win. Only annoyance is you pay for the trip to and from your house (which tacks on about an hour of paid labor ....)

They arrived promptly and started moving things immediately. They were very quick, professional and courteous and protected my furniture well.

These guys were great, however the person who set up the appointment wrote both my phone number and address down wrong. The movers were unable to find my apartment or call me, so I was charged for the time they took trying to find my place. Be sure you double check your information to avoid extra charges!!

The team arrived on time after a call to let us know they were on the way. No items were damaged and they were very careful with my antique armoire and desk. Very polite and professional team. It was easy to schedule the move and the costs were made very clear in advance.
