Awesome customer service. Came when they said and the order was perfect! My shades are exactly the look that I was going for. They add beauty to the windows and you are able to capture the beauty outside too,as you can see through them while keeping the sun glare down.

From the first time Malia came she had a very customer oriented way of doing business. We had a 'huge' bank of west facing walls that faced the western sun in the afternoons. We had windows that were large half round, 2 quarter round, rectangular, the drop down windows, and a large picture window. We had several bids and Malia's pricing came in lower every time. She showed us everything from high end blinds to very good blinds. The installation went very well and really fast considering the amount of windows needing blinds. Malia followed up to make sure we were satisfied. I would use Colorado Custome Blinds with and custom windo treatments in the future.

I needed window treatments for all the windows on my new home. I had never purchased shades before and felt quite intimidated by the endless choices. Malia was very prompt and professional throughout the entire process. She was very patient with my multiple questions and provided invaluable recommendations showing me many samples and cost comparisons. Her prices were comparable and very reasonable. The ordering process was very easy and her estimates on time of product arrival were on point. The installation went smooth from scheduling to completion. I am very pleased with the final product and love my new shades. As all of my past home projects, I logged into Angie?s List and performed a search on ?Window Treatments.? I look for companies who only have ?A? rated reviews. ?Colorado Custom Blinds? was the first one, so I started with them. I made an appointment and met with Malia Alstrom to get an estimate on window treatments for the first 2 levels of my house. She was prompt, courteous and very professional. I told her that I currently had the original 20 year old mini blinds and really didn?t know what I wanted. I asked her if she could come by the house and make recommendation (s) to me. I showed her all the windows that I was thinking of replacing and requested two estimates: one for the main level and another for the second level. She brought samples to show me what my options were and we ended going with a 2? Faux Wood blind. Being a single man and not verse in home design, a woman?s touch was what I was looking for. After making my decision, she proceeded to measure all the windows for the estimate. I told her that I was not in a rush for the estimate and that she could take her time since I had 3 other scheduled appointments. She was the first of four appointments that I made and what she suggested and picked out was a good baseline for me in regards to option, pricing and quality. After meeting with the other four companies, I narrowed it down to two; Colorado Custom Blinds and a competitor. It turns out that both offered the same manufactured product, but packaged with a different label. The parent company was Hunter Douglas, but they were not HD which what I was looking at the retail stores, and they do not have the same warranty or quality as HD which was OK with me. I couldn?t tell the difference and they look just as good, even better -- priced a lot less!!! I?m always looking to save money. It came down to a couple of factors in choosing Colorado Custom Blinds: first Malia was local and a neighbor (lives 2 minutes away from me), service and an independent. She has been serving Colorado Springs since 2004 and an "A" rating on Angie's List. So I called her to go over a couple questions and told her that I was going with her company. She promised to keep me apprised throughout the process: when the blinds were leaving manufacturing, where they were in transit and when they were expected to arrive at their installer. Her promise to me was ?If anything were to go wrong with the blinds for the first 5 years, ALTA would send her a new one and she would drive the two minutes to switch it out, no charge.? Her model is ?I'm fair, I'm honest and I treat my customers how I want to be treated.? That sold me and it gave me good feeling that she cared and provides excellent customer service!! After placing the order, it took approximately 2-3 weeks for the blinds to arrive from the manufacturer. Malia called me to set up an appointment with the installer the following week and and they worked around my schedule. The installer arrived at 10AM sharp and was ready to go. He unloaded all the boxes and started with the upstairs and worked his way down to the main level. He was very courteous and professional, knew what he was doing and within a couple of hours, all 15 blinds were installed. He explained to me how to operate them and tips in regards to opening the long single blinds up due to the weight. He also showed me the safety break away feature in case the drawstring was to get wrapped around a young child?s body part. After installing each blind, he cleaned up after himself and assured that the area was how he found it. He may have cleaned up some extra stuff that was lying around ;) I was very happy with the experience with Colorado Custom Blinds, Malia and Mike the installer!!! I would definitely use them again for future purchases and refer them to friends and neighbors.

Everything went better than expected with Colorado Custom Blinds. Malia arrived on time for the scheduled measure/estimate appt. She was very friendly, professional and knew what she was doing. She gave me an estimate, via email, that was far below others I had received for the same shades. I accepted her bid and mailed her a check for half. She told me when the shades should arrive and that Mike, her installer, would call and we could set up an appt to get them put up. When the shades arrived, Mike came over and did a super job hanging the shades. It showed that Malia did an extremely accurate measure since the shades fit perfectly. Mike was friendly, professional and efficient. He showed me how to operate the shades (top down/bottom up) and answered all my questions. Shortly after the install, Malia called and came over to see that the shades were working to my satisfaction and to collect the balance due. While she was at my house, she also measured for a potential future project that she gave a creative idea for and I've already received her estimate. I would highly recommend Colorado Custom Blinds.

The service Malia provided was very helpful. The motor was not working correctly for one of our blinds. Luckily, the blinds were still under warranty. She was very thorough, coming to look at the issue with the blinds, taking down the blinds, mailing them to be fixed, and then returning to install the blinds. The entire process lasted about a week which I thought was very quick considering the blinds needed to be mailed to be fixed. She really helped make the entire process very easy for us. I was very impressed with Maila's expertise when we initially purchased the blinds and I am even more impressed with how she handled this issue for us. We highly recommend Malia's because of her expertise and her commitment to customer satisfaction.

The whole experience with Malia was outstanding. From the initial phone contact to the completed job we were very pleased. Malia was very responsive, she was very helpful in selecting the product and the ordering and installation was done in a very timely manner. We would use Malia again and would recommend her to others.

Everything was just fantastic. Malia is quick to book appointments, comes with all the samples, does not automatically suggest the most expensive option, and measures at the appointment. No pressure at all, yet she is extremely knowledgeable about what will work best for your windows. And, you don't have to wait for someone to come on a second appointment to measure. I was very impressed with how many measurements she took for each window. We have all non-standard size windows and lots of them. Some of the windows are in groups where we could use just one large blind for the entire opening. Every one of the 25 blinds and the skylight duet is a perfect fit. She was so patient in my quest for the perfect shade of white to blend with our white trim and moldings. We have a lot of color in the house, so didn't want competing color in the blinds, but there is no such thing as just "white." She must jump to the head of the line at the Hunter Douglas manufacturing plant because the speed of delivery after an order is just phenomenal. We chose HD over the other excellent brands she carries because it worked best for us. We waited over two months for Clopay carriage-style garage doors to be made, but the blinds took only a few weeks. Her installer, Mike, is wonderful. He is very neat, efficient, pleasant, and does a great job. If we ever need a blind, shade, or shutter again, I would not contact anyone but Malia. We've gone the cheap provider route and the DIY route through the big box store. There is a huge difference in functionality and appearance when you do it the right way. We couldn't be happier and I would never hesitate to recommend Colorado Custom Blinds. I take my Angie's List recommendations very seriously because I rely on the reviews myself.

We spoke on the phone, and I told Malia I was looking for Roman shades for our family room windows and a new vertical for the patio door there. We set a time, and she told me she would call on her way, as she was stopping by after another appointment. She was prompt and well-prepared. We discussed the Roman shade application and price, and she asked questions to learn more about how we would use the room, and what might work best for us. We settled on duette blinds after going through the options. We mentioned that we also had a broken wooden blind in the living room, as well as a patio door that had horizontal blinds which were not working well for us. She took a look, gave us pricing, and we decided to add that to the project. We also talked about some future needs we have in other areas of the house, and she gave us ideas for those. We expected the blinds to be installed around, or just after Christmas, but Malia called and said they came in early. Her installer would be in the area within the next couple of days, so she scheduled him to complete the installation. The installer was also prompt and prepared. We opted to pay a little extra per blind to have the installer take down the old blinds, which we felt was well worth it. What took him minutes to do, would have taken us much longer. The installation went very smoothly, and he was done with two patio doors and five windows in about an hour. The blinds look great! We were very pleased, and will call Colorado Custom Blinds when we are ready to do the next area of our house.

I highly recommend Malia and Colorado Custom Blinds. She responded to my inquiry about blinds for our new home (which was under construction) within an hour. She was out to measure the windows within 24 hours. A few days later, we met and went over samples and made decisions. She had the estimate to me in less than 24 hours and suggested alternatives for the more expensive blinds in the event I didn't want to spend that much. She then set up the appointment with the installer who was very professional and did an outstanding job as well. From beginning to end the process was smooth, efficient and professional. I love the blinds and couldn't have had an easier time getting them ordered and installed. I'll use Colorado Custom Blinds again and have already recommended them to several people.

We looked at several companies to install custom blinds in our new home. We did not want to spend a lot of money on each window since we had to install them on 15 separate windows. We looked at the home improvement stores and I went to a couple of blind stores. I called the company recommended by the builder as well. After going to one blind store we were convinced that we could get a better product than what the home improvement stores had to offer. We also had a better chance of things getting installed in our time frame. The store we went to had a great selection but really bad customer service. Their attitude was really indifferent. They even took the time to insult me. When I inquired about the installation they could not really give me any details other than they sub it out. We were sold on the product but did not have a company to make a purchase. I did a search from the Manufacture and came up with COLORADO CUSTOM BLINDS they had some good reviews. There was a company with a similar name that would come up in my digging so I made sure that the company I was reviewing was in fact COLORADO CUSTOM BLINDS. It was easy to verify since other reviews mentioned Malia in thier post. I contacted Malia and she came out with samples and showed us the product. She explained the features and options and gave us advice on what to choose. We were going to order a White blind that was a little off. With her samples we were able to locate the right shade of white that would work with our trim. I asked for details on the installer and insurance. She was able to make me feel comfortable with the installer. He was even better than I had expected! She provided me with insurance information on her company. After she took the blind measurements we did a little paperwork and gave her a deposit. The blinds arrived as promised and were able to be installed on our time frame. The installer was professional and very efficient in getting all the blinds installed. Once they were up we noticed a few scratches on the slats. They were very minor and hardly noticeable. We were concerned that the scratches over time would discolor and be more noticeable. Malia Came out and measured each slat so we could replace the ones that had a scratch. Apparently during the manufacturing of our blinds there was something in the one of the machines that caused a scratch. Malia offered to replace each of the blinds but we felt that just replacing the slats would be good enough. Can not say enough good things about Malia and COLORADO CUSTOM BLINDS. We got the VIP treatment over some budget priced blinds for our home. AND we paid less that we would have for a similar product in the Home Improvement stores. You wont go wring buying from COLORADO CUSTOM BLINDS. A locally owned company with great service.

I contacted Malia the first week of October to discuss a new product I had learned about on a web site. She had not heard of that specific product before but said she would call the manufacturing rep in Denver and inquire about the blinds. She called back the next day and let me know what she found out and we made an appointment to have her measure windows and give us a quote for the blinds. I had already had two other companies come to our home and discuss options and prices. I am so glad I called Colorado Custom Blinds and found Malia, the owner. She gave us the best price for the product we wanted and measured perfectly. Her installer came this past Saturday and installed all of the blinds (he was great also). We couldn't be more pleased. We will be having Malia back in a few weeks to order the blinds for our living and dining room as soon as we have some repairs done on the windows themselves. Malia is a real gem.

They are nothing short of OUTSTANDING. Always on time, extremely professional and knowledge about blinds that far surpasses many of the other blind providers in the Colorado Springs and Denver area. Malia and Colorado Customs Blinds quickly looked at what blinds I had that were not operational, and either repaired them on the spot, or worked directly with Hunter Douglas and had the blinds mailed back for prompt warranty work. I paid a fraction of what it could have cost had someone who was not truly knowledgeable about blinds. I also received an estimate for some new blinds that I am considering putting into the home. These are very nice thermal honeycomb blinds. While blinds are not cheap, expect to pay a couple thousand dollars from any reputable blind, company. Malia and Colorado Custom Blinds beat all other quotes hands down. Just a first class service that is dependable and reliable.

Malia bent over backwards to work with my husband's and my schedule, meeting us after work to show us her product line and get measurements for our window treatments. I was very impressed in the tiny detail that she took measurements herself. The two other local businesses we investigated either took "rough" measurements or guessed, informing us that if they won the bid, we would need another appointment to have their installers take the actual measurements. In addition to that inconvenience, I assumed that their initial bids might be off as a result. Malia provided us with an excellent quote on plantation shutters for the entire house, to include a custom one for our huge eyebrow window in the master bedroom, and she outbid her competitors by a significant margin. Upon earning our business, she stayed true to her bid even upon discovering that a few details would cost extra. She was continuously helpful and responsive, sending us many updates via email as we were waiting for our shutters to be shipped from the manufacturer. Upon arrival, she discovered that one of the shutters was damaged (it was functional but had cosmetic flaws) and immediately ordered a replacement and informed us of the situation. She got the installer to come out as soon as we were available, and even installed the damaged one temporarily, which was key since it was destined for the baby's room. After the replacement arrived, she again got the installer out within days to replace the damaged one at no cost, and only requested the final payment after we had verified that we were satisfied with the entire installation. Since installation, we have gotten tons of complements from our neighbors. We love the finished and elegant look of our rooms, and greatly appreciate the near-black out quality of the shutters as it really helps with our two kids' nap times. In addition, we've been informed that the product we selected has a lifetime warranty, which hopefully we will not have to use but gives us peace of mind. All in all, I can't say enough good things about Malia--she is prompt and professional, has excellent customer service, and her prices at least for plantation shutters can't be beat. We are completely satisfied with our experience and will likely call her again after our basement is finished to help with our window wells.

Malia provided outstanding service. We got 4 bids to get interior window shades for our whole house. Her price was the best by far. And she was very knowledgeable about the products. She was the only one who told us we would not be able to get 2-on-1 power rise shades. I thought it was curious that none of the other bidders told us this, so I verified it myself by contacting Hunter Douglas directly. Malia was absolutely right! Malia was prompt about responding to my request to get a bid, she was on time for our appointment, and she provided her bid quickly. Besides the great price, I was astounded by how soon we received our shades and got them installed. Her installer did a great job, was respectful of our home and cleaned up after his work. The whole process was very professional.

Malia arrived for the estimate and helped explain the different options we could consider for window treatments. We also discussed that because of how the original blinds had been installed, we would need to re-adjust the placement of the window trim. She offered the name of a handyman who could do the work. She calculated the cost of the shades we selected and gave us an estimate at that time. After talking to two other vendors, we chose Malia. We signed the contract, gave her a deposit and got the name of the handyman. The handyman came and gave us an estimate on the work that was required and we set a date for him to come to do the work. The handyman completed the work as scheduled and the installer showed up with the shades as scheduled. We are very pleased with the shades.

Malia provided me with excellent service. I tried to cancel her appointment as I had received a bid by the designer that my builder uses and a bid from Costco. I was busy and thought that as the two bids came in very close to the same number that I did not need a third bid. Malia talked me into letting her still give me a bid and worked around my busy schedule. For the same blinds she did indeed beat the other two bids that I had received by a significant amount. Then Malia mentioned that she carries an additional line of blinds that are very nice, less money that the ones I was looking at. She did tell me there were less color choices. Turned out I found colors I really like with the second line. I choose them and placed my order, this save me an additional significant amount of money. When the blinds arrived, I loved them. I am very happy with the quality. The installer that Malia uses was excellent. He had my blinds up and installed in a short amount of time. Malia was easy to work with and provided a quality product at a good price. I would highly recommend her.
