+ -1 moreThey came when we were told they would come to power clean the house. Then the next day they came taped windows and areas not to be painted. Then used there power sprayer to paint. Some areas needed to be painted by hand using a brush. They worked hard and continuously. They did an excellent jobv.
Description of Work: The workers did what the salesman said they would do. They were polite and personable and did an exellent job in the time promised. We were very satisfied.

+ -1 moreThis is our 3rd time using this company, and we would definitely use them again. Our 1st time with CertaPro (2004), we were consulting them about painting the exterior of our home. We had numerous paint samples painted on the exterior of our home and before we could finalize the colors, the military gave us orders to move immediately. We needed our house returned to its original paint scheme and while we were settling in our new location in Belgium, CertaPro was painting our house here in Colorado. We did most of our business via email and CertaPro even sent us pictures of the house when it was done. The job was great - and we weren't even here to see or enjoy it! Our 2nd time with CertaPro was in 2011 following a damaging hailstorm. Again we were not living anywhere near Colorado and did all our business and consultation via email and phone. Again Mike Lane and his crew were great. They sent us pictures and the house looked terrific. Now it's July 2012 and we are finally moving back to our house in Colorado. This is the first time in 8 years we have seen the exterior of the house, and none of the pictures lied. It really does look great. Every nook and cranny of the house exterior was painted exactly as we had asked. We didn't hesitate to consult with Mike Lane and CertaPro about painting the interior of the house. Mike even arranged for us to consult with a "color consultant" on what colors to paint the rooms and fireplace surround. His team did a great job! And we will definitely use them again!

+ -1 moreEvery aspect of the job went smoothly from the estimate to the final painting. There was even a color consult offered as part of the service. The selection of the color was very important to us and CertaPro brought sample boards painted with several of the shades we were considereing which helped in choosing the perfect color. The painters did an excellent job and were very professional. We were very satisfied.
Description of Work: We had the exterior of our home painted including all trim. All surfaces were prepared and repaired if necessary prior to the painting. CertaPro did a fantastic job and we were very pleased with the outcome. We would highly recommend CertaPro painters

The price reflects the fact that they were willing to do only the top half of the house. We have a two-and-a-half story house.....too high for us to climb up there!! We completed the bottom half that was easier to reach and provided a cost savings for us. Worked out VERY WELL!

Mike had given us an estimate the year before, but we decided to put it off another year -- and ended up paying about $1240 more because of the lead-abatement that is now mandatory for homes built before 1978. We feel fortunate to have found a top-notch painter even willing to DO this job, because the extra work hardly seems worth it, but that's just our opinion. Everything went "smooth as silk," as my husband said. They showed up on time, had a lot of workers, very conscientious, asked us about anything they were not sure of -- they really did a wonderful job. Mike Lane helped us get interest-free financing for a year (we were doing other home improvements, and needed a little help)! We recommend this house painter without reservation. Mike Lane is thoughtful and gracious, and aims to please. He even sent us a Christmas wreath to hang on our freshly painted house this season!
Description of Work: Because of newly mandated EPA Safe Practices recently established re: lead-based paint in houses built before 1978, Mike Lane and his crew had to follow strict guidelines while prepping the exterior of our 1899 Victorian to be re-painted. They had to suit up, wear masks, and drape plastic all around our home -- lead-safe work practices designed to minimize the spread of harmful leaded-dust particles, and to clean the work area so that they did not leave lead dust behind. This, on hot days in July -- miserable! But they did it, and so much more: caulking all new and previously caulked gaps and cracks to seal out moisture and drafts; puttying around all window panes; scraping all loose and peeling paint (from a previous BAD paint job eleven years ago); priming all the wood siding with Peel Bond to "seal the substrate, mitigate further peeling and allow proper finish coat 'bite' for best intercoat adhesion," as Mike wrote in his proposal. After all was meticulously prepped, finish coats were applied to the soffit, smooth cedar siding, windows, doors, door frames, facia/ gutters, down spouts, posts and porch lattice. I had picked a color scheme -- darker body with light trim -- from a friend's house, made by a different company, and Mike had me go to Sherwin Williams for a perfect match. The workers were prompt, courteous and skilled. After all was done, Mike came by, released a couple windows that had been painted shut, and made sure we were happy with the job. Happy? We are ecstatic. I've never worked with a more professional, or nicer, person in Mike Lane.

We had 5 other bids, and decided to go with Certa Pro because of his character, professionalism, price, and the feeling of being able to trust this company to do a good job. The job was complete in a very timely manner, and the crew did an excellent job from start to finish. We are very pleased with the new appearance our house. We only had one minor issue come up about a month after the job was completed and we informed Mike Lane of this. He was very concerned and gave us his word he would take care of it. He went above and beyond to take care of the issue. We are very much pleased with Mike Lane & Certa Pro and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

+ 1 moreMike Lane came to our home in July 2011 and gave us a very thorough estimate of the work and cost. We were no longer living in the house in August when the work was done, having moved to Texas. Our realtor and one of our daughters were there to confirm that the work was done and that the results were excellent. Our daughter sent many photos so that we could see the results. Mike did an excellent job, and we appreciated his character and his concern that the job be done well, even though we were not there to oversee the work as it was done. I would recommend Mike Lane and Certapro, and I am very comfortable in doing so.
Description of Work: CertaPro power washed the front of our house and then painted the front of the house which includes a good sized porch. They also power washed our deck and then refinished it. They also power washed our long fence and refinished it. This was work our insurance company authorized after the hailstorm on July 4, 2010 which damaged so many homes in Colorado. They did an excellent job and the house, deck and fence look wonderful.

+ -1 moreEstimate took time and was complete. Very friendly and professional. Stayed as long as we needed and explained any questions or concerns. Next time would use this company and would expect the same results and maybe somewhat better results based on the slightly higher costs. Some of these franchise companies use sub-contractors to do the painting, so you are not actually dealing with the actual painters during the estimation process. Find out about the sub-contractors...how long have they worked with this owner....how much experience does each person have. How long will the preparation take.
Description of Work: Very prompt and complete estimate. Did testing for lead in the old paint at no cost. Pointed out bad structure and recommended they be fixed before painting (like plywood that was de-laminated and rough and should be replaced or sanded smooth. And siding which has been water damaged on the bottom edges.) Such work is not part of normal paint preparation. All professional painting companies will give you similiar estimates and pitches about their services. I used another company based on cost. About 300.00 less. I would recommend this company and would expect them to give you an A to A- service. I'm very critical and base the evaluations on how I would do the service myself.

However, I only had one complaint, which was about the cleanup; they left stuff in my garbage instead of taking it with them. I received another estimate, which was about $300 more than their estimate. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

They offered me a 10% discount, if I signed the deal right away, which I didn’t like. They also went around testing and inspecting, to give me the bid, but I never felt the bid was for my house. I will not use their services in future.

+ -1 moreMet with Michael Lane to get an estimate on painting my house exterior. I got three bids on the job, and CertaPro's price was the middle of the three. Unlike the low bidder, Michael spent a fair amount of time to measure and inspect the job, and explain the various options. I awarded the work to CertaPro and scheduled the 1.5-day job for about 2-3 weeks later. The crew showed up on time, worked hard, and did a good job. When they were nearing completion on the first day, I noticed an area of trim around a window that had been painted differently from similar windows. I pointed it out, and they quickly corrected it without complaint. At the end of the first day, the crew cleaned up and stored equipment neatly. They asked me to look around to be sure I was happy with how they planned to leave things overnight. The next morning, the crew supervisor saw something he didn't like on a wall they had completed the day before. He pointed it out, but it looked fine to me. Regardless, they put another coat on that wall. No extra charge, and it still looked fine to me. When they completed the job that day, they asked me for an inspection of the work, including their cleanup. I pointed out another trim item that wasn't exactly as it had been before, and they again took care of it immediately and without complaint. I got a follow-up call a week or so later to be sure that I was satisfied with the job. I was; no complaints whatsoever.

They arrived on time everyday, did the work without goofing around, very professional and courteous in their conduct, told me what they were doing so I knew what to expect everyday, cleaned up and put things away, took very good care of my plants around the house and my new Anderson windows, did an excellent job painting with no big drips left anywhere. The boss, Mike Lane, followed up after the painters left and made sure they were no outstanding issues and offered to come back if I found any later. Dealing with them was one of the BEST experiences I've ever had!!! I'd highly recommend them to anyone.
