Anthony took a deposit and never actually came to do the work. Text after text, he had some excuse, over and over. He had good pricing, but never actually followed through. UPDATE He did return my deposit.

Anthony, the owner of Anthony Chimney Sweeps, did an incomplete and unprofessional job on our chimney. We signed a work order type document on June 26, 2020, and after 6+ communications with Anthony, he finally appeared to do the work on August 14, 2020. He gave repeated excuses for not appearing from the weather too cold symptoms. He did not size one of the chimney tiles correctly, did not remove the lichen and moss from the brick mortar, did not mortar the new tiles as customarily is done (actually used silicone rubber to join the tiles) and did not mortar and repoint the brick mortar as promised. When confronted, he lied about how the brick mortar had been sealed, and when dry, the lichen and moss would not be visible. Not so. He then gave me a copy of a work order he had written that was not the original and was visibly upset when I showed him the original and refused to sign that the job was complete. I had paid $1800 in advance expecting him to be honest and he was anything but. When looking at approximately 25 reviews other than, I found that most were one and had comments from. He is a conman too he does not show or return phone calls The BBB rates him with because of the high number of complaints they have received concerning Anthony work. I recommend that under no circumstances hire Anthony. I agree with many other customers that he dishonest and a conman.

They took my $500 deposit dropped off the material and then never showed up to do the work. The refused to respond to phone calls, voice mails, texts and emails. I have no idea why the refuse to answer or do the work

Sir, first of all, I appreciate your quick response to the project request and professionalism while on the job site. I did not intend to write a public review, but HomeAdvisor requires a customer review in order to proceed with a complaint for resolution through the company. After the initial inspection, you returned and completed: CrownCoat sealants, water sealant application for chimney bricks, wood fireplace cap replacement, gas fireplace capâ s sealant with high temp material and bent metal, and CreoAway application. The folio listed that the fireplace cleaning should be scheduled after 6-8 fires, and you â will return to install fireproof insulationâ (of inside of gas fireplace). Your business was a no-show for the fireproof insulation installation appointment on 14 Feb 2020 and a no-show for the follow-up chimney sweeping on 10 June 2020. On Thursday, 11 June 2020 you agreed to â have my office mail you a check for the chimney sweep only on Monday.â As of 7 July 2020 I have received no refund. I am requesting a full refund of the chimney sweep for $300 (out of the $1334 project total) so I can move on with another company to complete the work. Thank you for your time, and the completed work.

Anthony responded so fast he was at my house and had the job completed within 2 hours of me contacting him for an appointment. He found work that needs to be done for safety reasons, but there were no high-pressure sales tactics. He was friendly, polite, and professional and I will definitely be using his service again in the future.

Anthony was professional and knowledgeable. He had experience with my problem which turned out to be raccoons. He also found other problems which needed repaired. All in all he provided a valuable service.

We hired Anthony to inspect and clean our fireplace. During his inspection he found the the firebox was cracked and it’s heat protection capabilities had been compromised. He is explained the replacement process and came back the next day to complete the work. It was far more expensive than I would have thought for a task that took under an hour, but without it, the fireplace would have been useless. He cleaned the chimney for free. Anthony is very thorough and professional, explaining everything that was going on and how to keep it from happening again. I definitely recommend Anthony to anyone needing this type of service.
