A Better Garage Door

The opener on my double garage door had a hard jerk to it. In only a few minutes Mike diagnosed the problem and tuned the doors to move them slightly away from the garage walls to provide just enough clearance to allow them to open smoothly.

The tune up on my garage door went well.They were very on time, knowledgeable, and performed the service professionally.I would use them again in the future.The diagnosis is that I will need to replace the garage door opener in the future, but for now it's working again. Right now the cost to replace it seems a little high, so I'll do some research before we replace the garage door opener.

This company was extremely helpful in diagnosing the problem over the phone, setting the appointment, and efficiently fixing the spring all within a matter of a few hours. Excellent service. We would definitely use them again.

I was able to use an Angie's List special to have A Better Garage Door come out and do some routine maintenance on my garage door. They were very knowledgeable. I would use them again in the future.

We had a very old (70 yr) , very heavy wooden 2 car garage door. We wanted a lighter weight, automated door and opener. Due to some structural issues, we were told various things by people in the past regarding the feasibility of accomplishing this. We requested 2 estimates from Angie's list providers this year...both of them said it was possible. The other 'nameless' company from Angie;'s said that garage doors didn't come in green (like our old door) and that they would need to install a white door and we would then need to paint it. They also said that the opening to the garage would have to be altered, necessitating some additional carpentry work...and extra painting. "A BETTER GARAGE DOOR" said that it DID come in green (almost the exact shade we needed), and it would not require any additional carpentry work. On the day that they were to install the door, we got a call that their installer had 'gone missing'. They were very apologetic, and Mike, the owner helped us put everything back into the garage (we had emptied it so that they had room to work). They rescheduled, came back and helped re-empty the garage again. They had to use a slightly non-traditional set up to accommodate the peculiarities of our garage but it all went great. Looks good, no extra painting or carpentry....and I no longer have to struggle with the old heavy monstrosity! I'd definitely recommend them.

Found Mike on Angie's List. He came out and gave us a estimate for the work needed. He is a great guy! He did what he said he would do, for the price he quoted (a very fair price), and was on time. He has become my go to guy for future jobs( I am a contractor) and for referrals. Mike is the kind of guy you want working on your home! He was very patient and good humored with the owners and explained everything to them.

They really seem to be extremely knowledgeable about the product and were able to give information about the life of the product and how long it would last which actually made sense, and also described the pros and cons. They were very helpful until I could make the decision about what I wanted to replace it with.

After going to the big box store to obtain a bid, I contacted Mike the owner via Angie's List. He came out the same day and offered a bid that was as competitive and for a much better product. He assured me his company could install the new garage door the following day. Either wait 3 weeks ( as quoted by the big box store) or 1 day? No brainer! Due to my tight schedule, we arranged an installation 2 days later at 9 am. His crew of two competent workers showed up on time and were very efficient. They worked together well and were very courteous to me. They cleaned up all debris and were finished in a few hours. I was very impressed with every aspect of the experience and I highly recommend this company for all your garage door needs!

The contractor arrive on time and went right to work first replacing the rollers and then testing, adjusting, and lubricating the door. He also gave a quick check to my single door, which I had not requested to be done. They did this as a courtesy and lubricated that door as well. The work was performed professionally and quickly. I could not be more pleased with the work done or the price.

My garage door had been catching and going back up. Of course when Mike came out to fix it, the problem wasn't occurring but Mike was able to figure out what was going on. He fixed what he presumed was the problem (he was right) and told me to call him back over if what he had done didn't fix it. Door works great now.

Excellent service. My tenant reported the garage door would no longer open, so I contacted A Better Garage Door and E-mailed a photo of what my tenant believed was the problem; the spring. I talked with the owner, Mike Parks, and based on the photo he was able to give me a ball park estimate of what the repairs would cost, if in fact the spring was the problem. We received a detailed estimate on 6/4/2012 which included a new custom size door with our choice of windows, removal of the old inner jambs, installation of new framing, new tracks, and disposal of old door and tracks. The installation was scheduled at our convenience and the entire job was done in one day on 6/13/2012. We are totally impressed with this company. They are skilled, experienced, dependable and honest. The new door is beautiful and fits perfectly. The final price was exactly the same as the estimate. No surprises. We would definitely recommend this company to our friends.

I saw a 'deal' on Angie's list and called to get a garage tune up since my garage door was obviously in need of some attention. From the first call, appointment and when he arrived, I could not be more pleased. He arrived on time (slightly early) and immediately began to walk with me and explained what he would do and the items that were covered. He then went to work and finished (very quickly I thought but probably about an hour-ish) and then explained and demonstrated what he had done. I would definitely call again if I needed work done.

Mike installed a new garage door opener for us in Dec. 2011, a manufacturer and model with good ratings (I looked online). He did a great job for a good price. Then in May the bracket that holds the opener to the door broke in half! I called him the next day, and he came out that afternoon and replaced the bracket for no charge. Great response, he stands behind his work!

Wife couldnt get garage door to open on her way out to work in the a.m. My day off so called A Better Garage Door that morning.Mike Parks answered an said he could be by that afternoon. Was early, did the job and even gave me a discount once I told him I used Angies list. Friendly and professional and did it the same day so I didnt need to take time off from work.

Mike showed up on time, was professional and answered all my questions or concerns. He made sure that the door was in good working order and paid attention to detail from start to finish. He tried the door several times making sure it was in top working condition. If I have any issues, I know I will contact A Better Garage Door without hesitation!

Mike responded immed. to original email inquiry and provided estim. that day. Returned with new parts in one week. Am totally satisfied.

Everything was great except that the price of the work went overbudget by the amount of the Angie's coupon I gave them. Hmmm.

Perfect deal. I bought the $119 deal Mike had on Angie's List, which included the above work. Mike showed up 10 minutes into the 2-hour window he gave me and finished all the work in a half hour. Very friendly guy, knew exactly what he was doing. He has an A+ rating on Angie's list that's well-deserved. I was prepared to pay more if he found damaged springs - he didn't - but knew from his reviews that he's an honest guy who'd charge me a fair price. If you live anywhere in the Denver metro area, don't even THINK about calling anybody else but A Better Garage Door. Mike told me his schedule tomorrow includes Evergreen, Castle Rock, and Aurora!

Fantastic! Called Mike for a quote and set up the project for the very next day. The crew showed up on time and completed the work quickly. Top rate job and all 4 doors now operate better than ever.

Estimate was very easy. Mike the owner showed up on time and was very friendly and helpful throughout. He laid out exactly what he proposed to do, took all the measurements he needed and gave me the quote on the spot. The quote was a little higher than competitors, but his time frame for completion (2-3 hours) was way better than the competitors. His workers showed up at the exact time scheduled and were done in just over two hours. The door has been in for nearly a month and it's wonderful. With insulated walls and ceiling the garage actually stays warmer than my house. No problems with anything. Everything is rock solid. I'd recommend spending the extra for a belt-drive opener. It's so quiet it almost sounded like something was wrong after listening to chain & screw drive openers for years.

The owner was out of town but his crew never missed a beat. I left my request on Angie's in the evening and they called early the following morning. They showed up an hour later and finished in two hours. I'll use them again if needed.

Not only did they do a "tune up" (ccovered by the coupon) but they replaced all the rollers (which were 28 years old and falling apart), they replaced all the missing screws (there were SO few left holding the door to it's supports, I don't know why it had not fallen in a long time ago), they re-mounted the garage door opener, which had been crooked since it had been installed over 10 years ago, and now the door goes up and down in a straight line and the garage walls do not shake anymore! They did all this work in a very reasonable time, and the money I paid was more than worth all their expertise!

Door works great now, and is so quiet too.
