They arrived promptly, accurately assessed the problem, and fixed in in a reasonable period of time (less than 2 hours). They also tuned up the garage door and replaced rollers. They were initially contacted to replace the motor, but it was determined that the problem had to do with the springs, not the motor. This was a less expensive solution.

The garage door spring broken at night. The opener could not open the door in the morning. Based on Angie's list reveiws and them being very close to where I live, I called A Better Garage Door. They were available to fix the spring the same day and gave me a cost estimate of the work. I hired them and they came out a few hours later. Everything went well. They fixed the spring. They also recommended new wheels on the garage door (which I okayed) and even a new garage door opener (old one still working so I said no). Overall everything was performed well. As far as price goes, they may have been a little high. But when you need your garage door to work, getting it fixed fast is more important.

I bought the tune-up deal that A Better Garage Door was offering. I had no problems scheduling the appointment and Mike came on time. He worked quickly to replace the rollers and make sure everything was working properly. My garage door has run smoothly ever since.

MIke was very responsive to our initial call, showed up on time, and was prepared to take care of our problems right away. As requested, he called me 15 minutes before arrival and we were able to meet to get the work done. The home is an old home and the garage door opener was also very old. None of the old remote controls worked anymore. Mike diagnosed the problem immediately. He offered to replace the receiver on the old opener. He said that the opener, while old, is a very reliable brand and would likely last a very long time. He also offered a price for a new garage door opener. He recommended spending less by using the old opener. We chose to replace the entire opener, though, after listening to his pros and cons for repair versus replacement. He immediately went to work and did a great job. No issues whatsoever. Very pleasant and professional. Highly recommended.

I originally purchased one of the deals Mike offered for a tune up, but did not get around to it right away, then one day my garage door stopped working. So I scheduled an appointment. Mike was very prompt, fixed the issue (user error) and tuned up the unit. Recently I had issues again (Dec 2012). I called Mike, he came out the next day, and fixed the issue. He will be my first call anytime I have garage door issues.

Mike was very professional in his work and was very polite and easy to speak with. He got to his work quickly and without issue. He was quick and was able to complete his work without issues. He pointed out a few things to keep an eye on and then showed me how to use the new wireless keypad opener. I was satisfied with the work and the person himself. I would recommend them to friends.

We were very pleased. They discovered the rollers were bad, and after they replaced the rollers the door went up and down very smoothly. We think the price was very fair.

I am impressed with Mike's reponsiveness. It was early evening and I was calling a few companies and leaving messages knowing it was afterhours and I would have to wait until the next morning. Mike called me back within 5 minutes. When I told him i leave for work at 7 am, he said he could be out at 7:30 and have it done in 30-45 minutes. Wow, a service call that early, I couldn't believe it. Mike arrived on time, was friendly and professional. He fixed the door and opener in about 40 minutes. His price was great and I got more than I expected. I would highly recommend this company!

Repair went extremely well! Installer was professional and on time. My garage door is so much quieter now that it has nylon rollers instead of metal ones.

Mike showed up 5 minutes early which was a pleasant surprise. He was courteous and very knowlegable about his profession. His sense of humor and upbeat personality were very encouraging. He did not try to up-sell me but he did inform me of all the options I had to improve the situation and informed me of what each would cost. He changed out the carriage which he had with him on the truck and made my door raise up just a little higher than normal just as I had asked. He fixed the wiring to the electric eyes and had my door working great. He made all the adjustments and lubricated the screw drive and rollers.He was there for about 45 minutes total and left no mess. It was a pleasure all around and I will definitely use him for my future needs.

My garage door started acting strange; like there was something in the way. I checked the "eyes", but there was nothing wrong. I called Better Garage Door and they came out on the same day. He checked the connection and found that the connections were not properly finished (something not done by another company some time ago). He said it was so minor that he wouldn't charge me! I was really impressed with this company.

played some phone tag, but they always called back the repairman showed up late - outside the window given - so I was about to call around for someone else the job was done quickly & professionally they tried an upsell but when I declined, they were not pushy about it

GREAT JOB!!!!! I emailed Mike right after purchasing the "big deal" and got a reply right away! He called me and set up an appointment THAT SAME DAY!!! It was supposed to only be for an outdoor keypad and garage door tune, but I happened to ask him about another garage door remote as well and he said "No problem!" All was set and done within 20 minutes and I am pumped! He was cool and prompt and friendly! I will use his services again!

My wife couldn't get out of the garage to go grocery shopping in the morning. She called Mike and told him of the spring being broken, he said he would arrive at 3:30 that afternoon and he was punctual. I watched him as he fixed it quickly, 30 years ago it took me and a friend to fix the door and it wasn't as fast as Mike. Of course he knows what he's doing and being a professional at it he has all the tools and know how. Thank you Mike.

Showed up on time- nice guy and the repair was cheaper than I expected. Would use them again.

I have three car garage house so I have one double and one single door. I purchased one coupon thinking that this was flat fee service. The guys showed up and started to work on the doors without saying anything. When finished they finally said that it will be 2 x $119.00 and how they were wondering where the second coupon was. Interesting why no mention of the fact that it's $119.00 per door before they started the work. Now regarding the service. The workers showed on time and called before showing up, but that's where the positive ends. The rollers they installed have stems 1/4 inch too small for the sockets into which they insert and are approx. 4 inches too long. So in essence there is no decrease in noise as the stems rattle inside the hinge when the door is in movement. There was also a squeaking and a loud popping noise on the big door. I called the guys right after they left and was told it will go away. The squeaking did but the loud popping did not. I had to fix this by bending the tracks outward as the new rollers did stick out little bit more than the original metal rollers. I did not question the rollers because I did not know there are different sizes. Once I found out after doing research regarding the popping it was too late to call so lesson learned. Do your homework. Overall I do not recommend this service. If you want to replace your rollers you can do it yourself and you will have the proper rollers and it will be a lot cheaper. You can get good set of ball bearing rollers for between $15 and $60 per door with the right diameter and length of the stem so they will be quiet. The job consists of unscrewing the hinge that holds the roller one by one and sliding the old roller out and then inserting the new roller in and screwing the hinge back in the door. Use lithium grease on the stems and it will be super quiet. Very simple.

Our garage door wouldn't shut and we couldn't resolve the problem. I found Mike at A Better Garage Door on Angie's list and he figured out the problem in no time and had us back up and running.
