A Better Garage Door

Excellent job done by Josh. On time, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, didn't push anything unnecessary and very pleasant to work with. I would definitely use them again and refer to anyone needing garage door repair, tune up or replacement.

Mike came out when he said he would and provided some samples of doors to replace my 20 year old ones and his price was in-line with what I expected. I also had him replace a opener but he told me my other one (which the previous owner replaced) would work fine and I appreciated the honesty. Had my doors installed the next day by Norm and Norm and they did great work. Totally happy with my purchase and knowing my door isn't going to fall on my car or kids.

Mike was very punctual. Lubed and adjusted the garage door. He told me of possible upcoming problems. (ie door spring replacement, opener) Everything good for now. Fast, efficient and friendly.

They were prompt,professional, and spent time teaching us how to care for our garage door and opener. They gave us an estimate on the spot for a new garage door opener as ours was dead. Door works so well, it was hard to lift before when we had no opener.

Mike promptly came over and inspected my wooden garage door and said that it was just water-logged (from the awful rains we've been having in Colorado) and that it didn't need the tune-up. He said if it continues to happen (after the door dries out), that I would need to entirely replace the wood door with a new metal one. He advised me to contact you and request a refund for the un-used Big Deal tune-up. Mike was really excellent! So, I'd like to request a refund on the Big Deal garage door tune-up, that I won't be using.

There was initially some confusion. Although I had attempted to place the order through Angie's List, I kept getting error messages. Not knowing that my order had went through, I called A Better Garage Door directly. This resulted in the order being placed twice. Josh from A Better Garage Door showed up several days before the appointment made through Angie's List (as a result of the duplicate order). He did a thorough job cleaning and lubricating the motor drive. He promptly installed the new remote control on the outside of the garage. All the time he worked he was professional and courteous. The end result: the motor is so quiet now that I have to check to see that it's working! After explaining the order duplication, Angie's List promptly refunded the $99, so that I only paid A Better Garage Door itself. I would definitely recommend A Better Garage Door to others.

Our garage door was working intermittently, then it just stopped. We looked for deals on Angie's List, found one for an inspecation and service through Johnson Garage Door. They never called. I left messages. Then a few days later I got an email saying to schedule something. Well, in the meantime, we couldn't wait for poor service and no communication, so we found A Better Garage Door on Angie's List. I called at 530pm on my bus ride home from work and Mike answered. I told him the issue and he said that he could have a Tech our tomorrow. Wow! That's great. The Tech came over explained that our 18 year old system may not be able to be repaired, the motherboard was fried, but he could try if that's what we wanted otherwise it may actually be better to replace the whole thing. After discussing the issue with him, we decided to get a whole new system. With the Angie's List discount it came to about $480. He did maintenance on the tracks, installed the new unit, added a repeater for the garage door opener already installed in our older car with older technology that needed a go-between for the new technology on garage doors, installed new eyes. The work was done quickly, efficiently. The garage door opens freely and the price was reasonable.

As the door was lowering one morning, one of the 2 springs on the 2 car side of the garage broke, and the door came crashing down. I had given the number for A Better Garage Door to a neighbor earlier this year, after looking it up on Angie's List for them, and they had a great experience, so I called them myself. They had a man working in a nearby neighborhood who was just finishing up (good news for us as we're a ways from their office), and he was over within 15 minutes. Within 30 minutes, he'd replaced both springs on the large door, inspected all other parts of both doors, and tuned both up. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and there so fast my car wasn't trapped inside all day. I'd happily recommend to anybody.

Because my house is up for sale, the electric eyes had to be aligned to work correctly. They haven't been for a long time, so I was happy to have it done so quickly and so easily! In order to do it, he actually had to move a bunch of junk we had sitting in the way -- bikes, scooter, a bunch of stuff like that. He did it carefully and then returned it to its previous spot when he was through. He also lubricated the garage door for me. He was friendly, professional and just very nice to talk to.

I bought a coupon for garage door service. They did the service and then pointed out about 2 or 3 things I might want to repair. I did one repair. They also replaced the outdoor keypad.

Mike was very helpful on the phone, giving me all the information I wanted. He also scheduled me for next-day installation. Josh arrived promptly and completed the installation quickly. He also helped me program my car HomeLink system so that it would work with the new opener. That meant that he had to install a repeater, which Mike had mentioned might happen. Josh also checked everything out on the door itself. I asked him to replace the rollers. He told me about my options for the door springs. He didn't pressure me but gave me the info I needed. I chose to have the springs replaced as well. Mike and Josh were both very helpful with pricing and inclusion of special features (keypad, repeater). And on top of it all I got the 10% Angie's List discount. Excellent! By the time all the work was done, I had an incredibly quiet door with all the bells and whistles. (The only thing I didn't appreciate was the fact that Josh stapled two of their business cards to the wall next to the opener control. If their work and the opener are as good as I expect, I won't need it for some time. It's a bit of an eyesore, and taking it down will leave three staple holes in the wall.)

Went very well. Contacted Mike & in less than 24 hours he had Josh (service technician) come to my home and complete the work. Josh was professional, knowledgable, provided me with much information, a great communicator, and pleasure to work with. Highly recommend. Would not hesitate to call A Better Garage Door in the future when I am in need of service. Thank you for your help!

I was very impressed with the service provided. We ordered a Big Deal to provide a garage door tune up and install a wireless keypad opener. They showed up on time and quickly got to work. Our door works much better and the keypad is great. I will definately use them for any future repairs or services.

Mike arrived on time and quickly and efficiently fixed a broken spring on one of my garage doors. He replaced both springs, pulleys, and safety cables on the one door, and lubed and tuned both doors. When I first called, he only had an appointment in the afternoon, but was able to move his schedule around to get out to my house earlier which worked better with my schedule. I would definitely use this company again for any type of garage repairs I might need in the future.

They were friendly and did a good job. They were prompt.

It went great. He was very prompt very professional, and gave some advice on things to watch out for down the line. He replaced the wheels on the rollers so now its actually quite. The wheels were extra, he told me they did not need replaced but Im very happy with the service.

I spoke to them on the phone this morning. When the guy came to put it in, he was very polite and nice, but I don't think they had asked the proper questions on the phone because he said the garage door opener wouldn't work with the keypad.

Great work. Our door is much quieter now. Tech explained how we can keep up on the lubing maintenance. Very good company to work with.
