A Better Garage Door

He arrived on time and was very congenial and professional. He quickly identified all the problems with the garage door and opener and was able to clearly relay these issues to my 18 year old son who in turn relayed the message to me at work. When I called back, I was able to discuss the problem with the man servicing the repair and found he was a great communicator. I found him to be concerned for my overall cost and wanted to ensure that I received quality work, a quality product and a satisfactory end result. I was impressed that he had all the necessary parts with him and was able to take my payment over the phone. I felt that he was trustworthy and thorough. I believe the work took him approximately two hours on a very cold day, yet my son said he maintained a pleasant disposition and never troubled him in the house at all. When I arrive home, the garage door was working beautifully and there was no mess to clean up. I would hire them back in a heartbeat and would highly recommend them to anyone needing repairs on their garage door.

The new garage door looks wonderful!! Mike from A Better Garage Door was so pleasant and professional on the phone, and he was very accommodating of our schedules when we set up the appointment for our estimate and then the appointment for our install. The workers who came out and actually did the install were equally as pleasant and professional as Mike was. Overall, this was a great experience, and we will definitely be using this company again in the future if we need anymore garage door work!

Mike, Joe, and Daniel were great! They were here fixing my garage door before the other guys even called back! They fixed all the issues that my door had and at a reasonable price too! I will definitely call them again. In fact, I had them put their sticker over the last guy's sticker, so they're the ones I call!

The guys did exactly what was expected. They quickly and professionally installed and configured a new wireless keypad. They also inspected the entire garage door, all moving parts, and the motor and provided me with a status of its condition (which they said was good). They lubricated all moving parts and did not up sell me. As for getting the service scheduled, that was easy. I purchased the offer on Angie's List and called to schedule. They were responsive, scheduled a time, did not cancel, and arrived when they were supposed to. It was easy.

This is by far the best service I've received on a garage door. We have almost gone one year since this repair, and had no additional issues (for the first time ever). I will definitely use again.

Mike came out the next day. He found the issue and had the parts needed on his truck. He let me know what it would cost before starting the job. As he was fixing that, he found a couple of other things, and fixed them without any extra charge. The garage door works so great now. He has a great work ethic and I'm glad he was on Angie's list with such a great rating. I can see why.

For years our garage door has acted up in the cold, made odd, inconsistent noises... Ohhhhh! You're suppose to service it every once in a while, so it last longer. Huh... novel concept! SPRING REPLACEMENT AND NEW GARAGE DOOR OPENER: In July of 2014, my old garage door opener was nearing the end of its life-cycle when a garage door spring broke. Mike came out and put in two new springs. He was very prompt, polite, and willing to answer all questions. Three weeks later the old chain drive garage door opener finally died, so I called Mike again. He sent out a crew who replaced it with a belt driven unit, track, and controls package that he had recommended. The men he sent were thorough, polite, and on task. In addition to removing and hauling away all of the old components and remounting the new motor and track on new mounting brackets, they relocated the hardwired garage door opener button and wiring at my request, took care in mounting the exterior, key-code opener, and the fellow in charge pointed out that my garage door had no handle for manually opening and closing it. I replied, and quot;Yup, the door was installed without one and I haven't gotten around to putting one on it yet.and quot; He said, and quot;Think I have one on the truck.and quot; A quick search turned up a very plain, utility handle. When I asked him about the price to install it, he replied, and quot;No charge. It's yours,and quot; and proceeded to mount it on the interior of the garage door. To date, all is well with the install. The new unit is VERY quiet and a great improvement, and when the electricity recently went out for several hours this past winter, I really appreciated the manual opening handle. I would definitely use this company again. (Note: The $750.00 and quot;approximate cost of serviceand quot; number is the total cost for BOTH the spring replacement AND the garage door opener replacement service calls COMBINED. Very reasonable, I thought.)

He came on time, put the door through operation, adjusted the left side which was slipping, sprayed with silocone and left. He was pleasant and helpful as he worked. I was glad I had him here to check my door.

I called Mike around 9 am and he was available to help me the same day at noon. Upon arriving home he was already there early. Mike was very friendly and professional. He promptly knew what was wrong with my garage door (I had no idea). The spring had broken from wear and tear. He already had the right new spring with him and was in and out in under 30 minutes, while also performing a full tune-up of the gears. He tested the door to ensure it was working properly again. He also gave a 10% Angie's list discount! Great service, very professional, efficient and friendly.

I found Mike's company on Angies List (lots of other good reviews). He answered the phone promptly, set an appointment the same day and showed up early. Joe the tech was pleasant, neat, and obviously knows what he's doing because he got the opener installed and all the door rollers replaced in under 2 hours.I liked his work and the quietness and features of the Lift Master 8550 he installed so much that I've got them coming back today to replace the other one. Excellent outfit, highly recommended!

We had one garage door that wasn't performing well so I contacted A Better Garage Door to come and take a look. They put me on the schedule to have a technician come by in a couple of days. In the meantime, I backed into our other garage door causing so much damage to the bottom panel that the garage door wouldn't close. Now I needed help with two garage doors. The technician arrived within the estimated window of time; he was friendly and professional. A brief examination of both doors led him to the conclusion the best thing to do was for new garage doors to be installed. For the damaged one, our garage door is no longer being produced so our only option according to the technician was a replacement. Regarding the other door, repairs were estimated at $400 and a new door was only $650. It just made sense, if one door needed to be replaced, to replace both at the same time so they matched in appearance if the difference was only a couple hundred bucks. Total cost was going to be roughly $1500. Needless to say I was pretty frustrated but believed the assessment was trustworthy. I proceeded to contact a different garage door company to get another bid for two new garage doors. This company sent out a technician the same day and they were able to repair both doors for about $100. All that was needed for the door that was "riding rough" was a little oil in the pulleys and a few other minor adjustments. The door that was damaged by my car still doesn't look great but now it works! In the long run, I'm sure we'll need to purchase a new one but to have my garage door at least functioning and not feeling pressured to have to buy a new door today is a huge relief. I know this company has great reviews (that's why I called them in the first place) so they must be doing something right. I just wanted to share my story to perhaps caution potential customers that it might be worth having one or two other companies come and take a look before investing a good deal of money on suggested repairs.
