Opinion only: Substandard, lots of trash left, drip tubes not covered with rock, guarantee not honored for tree that was covered by nursery which Hayden agreed to replace if it died, have contacted 5 times no response, I would avoid this contractor at all costs.

Do not hire this guy unless you want lumpy uneven grass. Hayden showed up and we went over everything we wanted. I got a quote a few days later then I emailed back to reconfirm and was then told that he did not include several of the things we had gone over. He wrote nothing down. Rock was removed, all of it did not hold anything back. Drainage issue was not touched, fence barrier was useless and looked terrible it was not supposed to be visible once the sod was in but all you could see was this long green barrier. When I mentioned how awful this looked and I wanted it corrected I got a "What the F do you want me to do" and he walked out and slammed my gate, very unprofessional. .The sod was not laid correctly sprinklers were not moved and the grass is was really lumpy with lots of holes and low spots. I had to get someone into fix it, unfortunately he did not do much better and I still have issues not as bad but still is not what I thought I paid for.. We did not pay him in fill so requested a partial refund from Hayden since he did not do what he had promised, but he has just ignored our emails. Right now I have paid twice and still have horrible grass in my backyard..

Met with Hayden in May 2015 for a complete overhaul of my back and front yard. Seemed like a hard-working genuine guy who was very professional. His prices were competitive and he had good references. We got quotes/design ideas and signed the contract. Paid- I think-1/3 up front. It was supposed to take about 10 days to complete- but I put in a 30 day clause in the contract as a worst case scenario.. It was pretty much a roller coaster after that. Constant excuses of why he couldn't work on the days that he planned on working-countless equipment issues that prevented progress-and-of course-my favorite-never answering my phone calls or texts as my 1/2 ripped-up yard was awaiting sod. Finally got thru to the finish line (30 days later) and paid the bill in full. A couple of weeks later I noticed that the sprinkler placements were not providing enough coverage and the new sod was dying. Hayden did come out a couple of times to check on them and tweek them-but when it was determined that one or more of the sprinklers needed to be physically moved-Hayden (who already cashed my check-and now had no monetary incentive) disappeared. Haven't heard from him since. BTW-he is not-to my recollection- a full year resident of CO. So-if you don't get everything out of him by the Fall-see ya. Fast forward to spring-as I spent this whole weekend raking and re-seeding some more of Hayden's "guaranteed" dead sod- I was inspired to write this review in hopes of helping other people avoid my mistake.

Overall the work was good.  Hayden has skills as a landscaper and runs a pretty good crew.  He was prompt with an estimate and friendly enough.  Work was done in an overall timely and skilled manner.  Then some problems started.  His estimate was on the low side so we picked him.  I added a quite a few additional jobs to the initial estimate so I had a feeling I was going over.  He let me know I was probably going over the 2,600 initial bid but "not by too much".  The next day he said I was at $5,000!  He definitely should have been on top of that better.  It turned out to be $6,000 which I don't have an argument about but he should have given more notice of the increase.
The worst part was when he left his rototiller in my garage and would not pick it up after repeated requests.  Not to mention leaving other tools, trash, & parts strewn about my property.  I was in the process of trying to sell my house and get it ready to show.  I also have 2 kids.  I put the rototiller on the street, told him, and he still did not get it.  Finally I told him a FREE sign was going on it and guess what, he picked it up. That was awful and infuriating.
I really wanted to like Hayden and recommend his company but I cannot.  His services and skills are good but his overall professionalism is awful.  Beware the low bid that grows like weeds.

He was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend him. The people listened to what we wanted. Drew, the owner, provided us the services that he said he would. The work turned out wonderfully.

Hayden and Ward did a great job of understanding our design intent and making it happen. Everything got done that we wanted, although it took longer than we expected, largely due to the flooding which stopped work for about three weeks. I would like to see more detail in his bids/proposals  such as tons of rock, etc. to compare with final billings.

While the quality of the work was great and I'm very pleased with the install, it was very frustrating working with this company.  The frustration started with meeting Leif for a quote.  After he was 30 minutes late I called and he was lost.  He hadn't called me to say why he was late or to ask for directions.  He claimed my street wasn't on his map.  I've never had anyone else have problems finding my property.  I thought it was very unprofessional that he didn't  have accurate directions prior to heading to my place.  He ended up being an hour late, but once he arrived he was very thorough and gave a detailed, competitive quote.  He's very easy to talk to and explained things in ways I could understand.
Leif's quote was the best, so I decided to go with him and he put me on the calendar a few weeks out.  When my appointment date came, I heard nothing.  I had to call him to find out his other project was taking longer than expected.  This went on for several weeks.  It was very frustrating not knowing when work would start, the lack of communication, and facing several delays.
Once Leif finally got started, the job went really well.  The work looked very good and at the end of each day he gave me an update.  He walked me through all the work he had done and explained all the zones and types of sprinkler heads.  The yard looked good after the install as well - I was worried what condition the lawn would be in after all the digging. He gave me advice on watering times.  I was very impressed and happy with the new system.
Sprinkler blow-out and start-up in the spring is included with an install.  Scheduling for the blow out went fine and he was right on time.  He was very professional in this encounter, so I'm not sure if my experience this summer was representative of his normal business practice.
It's a shame that I had a bad experience scheduling the install because he did an awesome job.  I would definitely recommend his actual work.

Drew's estimate visit was free.  Since we already had a design for the landscape, Drew was flexible in adjusting his price to use our design and to buy plants and mulch that would keep us at $2500.  (We found this flexibility rare among the landscapers we consulted.)  At each step, Drew was prompt, conscientious and had useful advice for us.  The crew found time for us at an earlier date than they had thought.  They finished in one day.  We're delighted with the work; we've already recommended DTE and will continue to do so without reservation.
