Frank Hoelisen replaced 4 smoke detectors and replaced the wire connectors to provide the proper connection for each unit. Frank was courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and tidy. I will definitely contact him if I have any further electrical problems.

+ -1 moreI have purchased deals from other vendors - Mountain Tech actually called me to schedule, which no one else had done. They were a little late getting to my place because of getting lost, but frankly, that happens to lots of people. They did call to say they would be late. I expected them to ask for a bit mroe than I paid because i have 3 sub panels, but they did not. They diligently worked through everything and were very nice and patient. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal on Angie's list to have my breaker panel labelled.

Maybe I'm not familiar with the electrician business, but it just doesn't seem like someone should charge $75 to show up and then that doesn't even cover any labor. With every other business I've worked with, if they charge a service call fee, that at least is applied to your total, so it's only a safety net for them if nothing actually has to be done. Another company I contacted quoted that their rate was $76/hr. Unfortunately I had bought an Angie's List Deal and I wasn't home to squabble with the electrician and my wife is fairly non-confrontational. Electrician was also a little TOO chatty. Sure, you like them to be friendly, but you also don't want your ear talked off. He also used some course language in casual conversation with my wife, which I definitely don't think is professional.
Description of Work: Completed the connection of 4 switches to outlets in different rooms. Restored power to 1 outlet in one room and 3 outlets in an adjacent room. $237.50 2.5 hr @ $95/hr labor $2.50 Material $75 Service call

+ -1 moreAt first, I had trouble getting in touch with the company. When he did finally call, he was very nice on the phone. However, when he gave me the price, I was surprised that there would be a $65 service call. I just need some outlets switched and thought it was too much.

+ -1 moreNo initial contact by provider. After a few weeks I called but was sent to a non-working voice msg box. I emailed but email bounced back as unknown address. A week later I called again, same result, non-working voice mail. Another week passed and I called again and this time did get the provider on the line. He said he was busy driving to an appt and would call me back. He did call me back and said he was real busy and would call me back in a week. He did call back two weeks later and we made an appointment for a week later. The appointment date was two weeks ago and still have not heard back. I think I've given this provider plenty of time to work with me, and in another week it would be three months since I bought this coupon. Time for a refund.
Description of Work: Service was never performed. I'm still waiting, but my patients is wearing thin.

Description of Work: I very much wish I could write a review of the service; however, notwithstanding the fact that I purchased a Big Deal contract in September, I have still not been contacted by this outfit to schedule the service! I received a telephone call from Angie's List in October, asking for my input on other contractors. At the end of the call, I mentioned that I had still not heard from the electrician with whom I had contracted the previous month about scheduling a date for the service I still needed. I was offered the opportunity of canceling the contract and getting my money refunded, but as I still had not gotten the needed electrical Repairs seen to, I said I would much prefer to have the services performed. A woman identifying herself as the wife of the owner called me a day or so later, apologizing profusely and assuring me her husband would get back to me quickly. I gave her both my land line and cell phone numbers. Both lines have answering services, and almost a month has Passed since that belated phone call, and I have still not been contacted! Angies's List and/ or the contractor has had my payment for these services for almost 2 months, and I don't wish to wait any longer for the promised phone call or for the work to be done. Please refund my payment, and put a major black mark against this provider! He may be the world's best electrician, but if he can't be bothered to earn the money he has already been paid, I certainly don't care to deal with him! There are other electricians in the metro area, and if he wishes to remain on Angie's List, he should keep that in mind.

Description of Work: He was very responsive and made an appointment to come by our home to look at the job first so he would have the correct materials. On the day that he did the work, he was punctual and pleasant and installed three new outlets very efficiently. We will definitely use his electrical service again.

+ 0 morePrior to purchasing the Big Deal, I called to make sure this company served our area as we live a distance out and not all companies do. Frank assured me that he came to our area frequently, so we went ahead and scheduled. He arrived promptly and was very flexible with working with my convoluted schedule. The installation of the light fixtures went well; Frank was very thorough and explained every step of the process. The chandelier required some assembly and he was very understanding as my teenage daughter and I assembled the many flowers that were to hang from the chandelier. The only downside to Frank's visit was that I was surprised by the $75.00 visit charge on the bill; this charge negated most of the cost of the Big Deal. I felt that this charge should have been mentioned when I called to check upon availability of service to our area, but I did not quibble about it as I was happy to have my lights in and working. Otherwise I was very happy with Mountain Tech Electric.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List because we needed to have a few light fixtures replaced. Scheduling a service time was a little tricky as we live a distance from his business, but he was very personable and eventually we got it done. Frank replaced two lights on the drive to our barn and hung a chandelier in my daughter's bathroom. He was ready to hang another fixture but it was broken when we opened the box so we deferred that service.

The gentleman really took his time to explain the issues and had no problem crawling up in my attic to install new outlets (I wanted ceiling fans installed). I paid $49 for $100 worth of electrical service that included the trip charge, which surprised me, since there wasn’t anything stated about that upfront.

+ -1 moreThe guy was extremely nice but extremely slow. I got a deal on the work but at the same time it cost quite a bit of money to get all the work done. After this I decided to get an estimate on everything. I expected it to take a few hours and he took 8 hours (1 hour was spent explaining the electrical system which was reasonable); his hourly rate was $85 which was higher than other people I subsequently have employed in the area. Ask for an estimate before you start or you may be surprised.

The woman who answered followup call by me said that they had been away and were over whelmed by the response. It was the first time they had used Angie's list. She said they would call to set up an appointment. That call never came. I did notice that the provider was located in Arvada which is quite a distance from Parker.
Description of Work: None was performed. The company did not follow up.
