I called Nick Sinclair on a Saturday morning in early November. We moved into our house in July and there were no directions or manuals on the heating system here. Nick called back immediately and said he could be at our place in 2 hours. He showed us how to work the system and did a check to see how well the furnace was operating. He also let us know the fireplace was gas log ready and how to work it once we purchase a unit. He also gave an estimate for what it would cost to update the rather old furnace. He only charged $30 for the visit. He was friendly, punctual and professional. When we do decide to upgrade our furnace, I will definitely call Nick Sinclair again.

We had an original furnace (30+ years) finally give out on us. Given it's age, we knew fixing it was not a good option. So, we called Sinclair Heating and Air based on rating and reviews here on Angie's List. Nick Sinclair was very fast in his response and even came out the same day to inspect the old furnace and gather the necessary information to prepare an estimate. Nick was professional and obviously very knowledgable about everything heating and air. The estimate came faster than I expected, and seemed very fair in the pricing. We compared Nick's numbers and reviews with two other highly-rated contractors here on Angie's list. We found Sinclair Heating and Air a wash in reputation, professionalism and knowledge with another contractor, so our decision was ultimately based on price and comparative Consumer Reports ratings on the respective furnaces being offered. The Sinclair estimate seemed the better value. It was a good choice. Nick informed us that he schedules his installations on the weekends, and we set up a time for the the following Saturday. Nick showed up on time as promised with his Dad and obvious business partner. Again they were both very professional and personable. They took great care to protect and thoroughly clean the surrounding area, then went to work. They worked quickly and seemingly very efficiently. The total install took approximately 3 hrs, and the furnace fired up right away. Then they thoroughly cleaned up the area again. Nick took the time to show us how the new furnace worked, and happily answered all of our questions. The furnace has been working well since. We highly recommend Sinclair Heating and Air Conditioning, and have so already to a family friend. We plan to reach out to them again later down the road when we add air conditioning to the system.

Nick came right away for an estimate and investigated our situation...we enherited a whole house fan with no louvers which in the winter creates such a draft and waste of energy..Nick gave me a link to the part I need to order and came to install it in no time...I even added another small job to his list last minute and he took care of it right away..great to have an honest contractor in my book !

The furnace was not working. Nick came and diagnosed the problem quickly and ordered the motor to replace the burned out motor and changed the filter to the correct size. He is efficient, professional and very reasonable. I highly recommend him.

Nick was very friendly, nice, professional, and overall satisfied with his work.

Not only did they arrive as promised for installation and do a fine job, but they also came back when i called for some adjustments! (Adjustments to the amount of heat in kids room because during the summer we wanted less cold air, but now in the winter we'd like more warm air). At any rate, Nick showed up with a smile on his face, on time and fixed the dampening. I highly recommend their service. Customer service and professional are not just catch phrases to these guys...they are the real deal!

My furnace is 12 years old and the pilot light would not always stay on so I called Sinclair A/C & Heating to have it checked out. Nick assessed the problem and told me the ignitor was not functioning as it should and he explained why. I gave him the go ahead to order the new part and he contacted me on the same day he received it and made an appointment with me to install it the following day. My furnace is now working beautifully. I am a recently widowed senior citizen and find it difficult to trust contractors in general. I found prior reviews of Nick to be right on the mark. He truly is dependable, punctual, professional, open, reasonable, friendly and a pleasure. I would definitely hire him again.

From start to finish, working with Sinclair was a pleasure. As any reputable HVAC installer should do, Sinclair encouraged us to get quotes from multiple vendors. After getting three different estimates, Sinclair had the best price, and also seemed like the most honest and upfront of all the installers we met. He, his father, and one other worker did all the work in three days. They were open, honest, and extremely accommodating to all of our concerns. They hardly stopped to take a break! Throughout the job, Sinclair was prompt, thorough, and friendly. He has limited availability, so as long as your project dates can be flexible, I can't imagine finding anyone better. Now that I have a new central heating and air conditioning system, I don't need any other work done to my house, but if I did I would call them up in a second.

The work went exactly as Nick had indicated. Nick came to our house prior to doing the work to assess the job and determien what parts he made need. He completed the job in one day. The heater works much better than before Nick's work.

I called Nick for a an estimate on a new furnace. He came to the house that afternoon, did a thorough inspection, and got my old heater working. I decided to get a new energy efficient furnace and ducting because of the tax credit. He gave me a detailed quote, which was almost half the price of my last quote from another contractor. So, I decided to use him and I am so glad that I did. Nick gave me a date which he could start working and when he would finish. Nick and his father came on time and finished on time. They were very friendly, neat, knowledgable, and professional. They did not take any short cuts. They installed an extra vent just because they thought there was not enough air flow in that part of the house. They replaced 100% of the ducting, which required cutting into the ceiling. In other words, they did everything the right way and went above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend their services to anyone. In fact, I liked them so much I had them install a furnace in my parents house, which was also done the right way. Nick and his father charge a reasonable price, and they do high quality work.

I called 4 other businesses on a Saturday night before calling him. He was the only business to take the call directly (not an answering service) on a Saturday and to come out for a service call on a Sunday. He made a total of 3 trips. 1st, on a Sunday to diagnose the problem. He was very thorough in his assessment. He didn't charge me anything for the visit and recommended a low-cost part-replacement option and gave good reasons for replacing the entire furnace (which was a very old unit) if the part-replacement didn't work. He ended up making the 2nd trip to replace the part which didn't work and which he didn't charge me for, and finally the last trip was to replace the furnace. He did a very clean professional level job. Normally I would wonder if I was a victim of an upsell tactic but I found Nick to be a very straight foward trustworthy person. He's very thorough in his diagnostic, attentive in explaining the details, was never late, and followed through on all of his committments. I will definitely keep his contact information to use him for any future repairs.

I own an old home (1932) and wanted to investigate options for air conditioning. I contacted Nick Sinclair to provide an estimate on potentially installing a simple "through the wall" air conditioning unit in my bedroom. Nick was very prompt when he came to my home, and after investigating the situation, recommended several options for air conditioning. After doing some more investigation, I determined that his recommended option of installing a split-system that would be able to produce heat and cooling for two rooms instead of just one, and be more quiet and economical in the long run...was the best option. Nick is extremely professional and even suggested that his wholesale cost for the units may be more than if I sourced the units myself. Nick spent tireless hours in helping to investigate which were the right units and also which units qualified for Federal tax credits. After identifying the appropriate unit, I ordered the unit and arranged for Nick to install it. Nick and his father are the most professional, honest, and knowledgeable home improvement contractors I have ever met. They did what they said they would, were very professional, clean, and pleasant to deal with. There were a few follow up issues that I needed to ask about, and Nick was happy to come by my home and provide solutions to those follow up issues without any problem. Overall...this has been the best experience with a contractor I have ever had. Too bad they don't do other trades.

Nick explained that having a home near the beach can cause problems with rusting, etc. He did his best to fix a 19 year old furnace! He not only replaced the furnace at a VERY reasonable price, but he also replaced the gas lines stating that he would only charge the cost of the material. He was kicking in the labor because he was 'already down there'! WHAT A GUY! Very professional, very helpful, very knowledgeable, very CLEAN. I have never experienced a service call in my years as this one. Flawless expertise. I would recommend him to anyone. Every business should be run as this one is.

They visited the first time and instead of replacing our thermostat (which had been done 3 times in two years), they knew exactly why our furnace wasn't working. They fixed it, but recommended we get a new unit (ours is 20 years old). They gave us a much lower price that we expected. On the service date, they arrived early, laid out all their equipment in the drive and got right to work. We're extremely pleased with the way they acted and the way they worked. There are so many irresponsible and unresponsive contractors out there; this company is the exception.

This is my 3rd experience with Sinclair and I'm still very impressed by Nick and his dad. This is a true family business that really cares about its customers. Nick first installed my central a/c and did a great job for an excellent price. When my heater (which is about 20 years old) went out last year, Nick and his dad didn't once try to sell me a new furnace but instead replaced a broken part for a minimal price. Once again today, Nick saved the day, finding a broken ignitor; and replacing it all for total charge of $80. He is a true find and the most trustworthy contractor I've found on Angies.

I received about 3 estimates prior to meeting with Nick. At that point, I was convinced I needed to have all the ductwork replaced because of asbestos, possibly replace the heater and/or get the heater cleaned. Nick arrived promptly at my house so he could prepare an estimate. He has a separate job and is usually only available for major jobs like mine on the weekends. This guy works very hard, maintaining a number of commercial accounts with restaurants in addition. He gave me an estimate which was actually a couple hundred higher than my lowest but that guy turned out to have an invalid contractor's license and wanted a check before he even began. Nick is the opposite. I wanted to give him a deposit before I left to run errands (the install was on a Sunday) and he did not want to take it. He brought his dad and both confirmed that I did not have the dangerous kind of asbestos ducting and I could easily keep it. I decided to have them replace it anyway and he's returning in a couple of weeks to do so. The A/C works beautifully and they installed it in 5 hours. When they come back out they will install new registers and ducts. They really know what they are talking about and bottom line the A/C works great.

Furnace suddenly stopped heating late Friday night; at 7:30 AM Saturday I called to get service. Nick answered and said he'd be over in an hour (even though it's 1st time I called him). He came by as promised - turned out he had spent all night on a commercial job in downtown Long Beach, but he was still courteous, professional and quick. He re-lit the pilot light - and would only take $20 for his services. I will certainly call back when my old furnace needs replacing

We had an intermittent problem with the heater. I called Sinclair on a Saturday morning. Nick answered, and tried to help me troubleshoot the problem on the phone. Since Nick was tied up he sent his father, Mickie, within an hour, as promised. It turned out to be something very minor. Mickie explained everything, took his time and then since it was very minor asked only for $20 (I paid him $40 for his trouble). Very nice people.

Mr. Sinclair is very professional and hard-working. Working steadily until the job was completed.
