The sensor to electronic gate was defective. Technician came out on time. He not only repaired it, but also gave an explanation on how the old one was defective. They were very thorough, knowledgeable and professional. Would definitely use them again in the future.

All workmen and their lead men were very professional and polite. They always left the work area neat and clean and were responsive to changes that always will occur. The minor problems were addressed professionally. You can feel comfortable that this company is not going to take advantage of you. It was refreshing to dobusiness with a company that appears to be intent on pleasing their customer.

We had a wrought iron gate that was misaligned due to tree roots and ground shifting. This gate eventually could not be opened or closed without extreme force. We called Method Garage Doors and Gates - Sean arrived to evaluate the situation within 2 hours as promised. He carefully assessed the gate and gave us two options for repair, along with the price quote. We chose the quick fix and were extremely happy with the results. Sean was pleasant, professional, and took his time to do the job right. I also liked the fact that there is a person answering the office phone, not voicemail. I would highly recommend this company - for any job, large or small.

Val visited my worksite and provided me with an estimate for a custom redwood driveway and pedestrian gate for my driveway. He was thorough and seemed very knowledgable. Norm spent almost a full week installing the gate and paid high attention to detail, making sure everything was perfect. I'm very happy with the team at Method Gates and would recommend them to anyone. While the price was higher than other vendors, the quality of the gate is exceptional. I receive many compliments from visitors.

Noam evaluated my work on a Saturday, quickly came up with a solution, and promised work could start in 2-3 weeks. They were back in less than 2 weeks. They were fast and clean and did a wonderful job. Noam even measured the holes made in the wood by me so that I could use the same holes to mount the boards on their frame. Metal framed gates are expensive, but their price was fair and they also quoted me a price for automating the gate in the near future, because I was unable to afford that at the time of the work done on the 17th. Highly recommend them for any gate design. My experience with Method could not have been better.

He did an excellent. Noam is the project manager and he was the one who came out to do this. He made the gate and then he came out and installed it. He was an extreme hard worker. There was a point at which something happened, I think it was a sprinkler. When they were putting the gate in they hit a sprinkler line and he was there until six o'clock and his assistant trying to fix that. They even went out, bought parts for it and put it back together. That was one thing that stood out. Later, we had a problem with the gate dropping, he was there in an hour to fix it. He has an excellent service and his office staff is terrific too. the lady that works for him.

The gate was a success, and they were extremely professional, trustworthy, and fair. I am definitely going to use this company again !

The receptionist at Method was pleasant and professional and informed me of the $45 service fee which would be applied towards the cost of any repairs that I may subsequently pay for through Method. She scheduled the appointment. The service tech arrived on time (his name was Val) in a clean truck marked with the Method logo. Upon arrival, Val reminded me of the $45 service fee which would be applied towards any repair costs which was fine as I knew this from the initial phone call to Method. I told Val the issues I was having with the driveway gate malfunctioning and that my system was 8 years old. He opened the control box and confirmed that it was an older system. He then proceeded to tell me that it wouldn't be cost effective to fix it and that fixing it would include replacing the circuit board and the "arm" that actually moves the gate at a possible total cost of $1500. He also said that there really weren't any repair shops in town who could actually fix the "arm" mechanism. I asked why would the total circuit board fail and he compared it to how an old television eventually stops working. I suppose he was unaware that televisions have been known to be repaired. He then offered to sell me an all new system for "a great deal of only $2000". I told him that the system still worked, power still flowed, and the gate still opened but that it just doesn't open all the way sometimes or close all the way sometimes. Val's response to that was that the system was failing and that it would totally fail soon because the circuit board was going bad. He didn't do any diagnostics on the circuit board to determine if there was a faulty relay switch or identify if there was a bad fuse nor did he test any part of the system to isolate the source of the problem. His diagnosis was based merely on the fact that the system was 8 years old and that I should be happy to pay $2000 for an all new system. I reiterate, he did NOTHING to test the system to find out what actually was wrong with it. I'm upset and will grade this company an "F" because I called them to come repair my automatic gate system, not come out and charge me $45 just to try to sell me new equipment. So basically the technician did absolutely nothing other than remove the control box cover and assumed that I would just shell out $2000 without actually determining if my system could be easily repaired. This is totally insulting. As it turns out, I did my research online to find others who have had the same problem. I discovered that the backup batteries were faulty and causing the gate to sometimes stop too soon when opening or closing. Total cost for 2 new batteries: $42. Time it took me to replace the old batteries with the new: 10 minutes. My 8 year old automatic driveway gate is now working as good as it was when it was first installed. $42 versus Val's $2000 recommendation. Thanks Method for trying to take advantage of me. My advice to other customers is to stay clear of these guys and their shady practices. Maybe they did great work for previous customers who have rated them an "A" but if my experience with Val and Method is any indication, I'm guessing that the work they performed so well for those customers didn't have to be done in the first place.

This is the most impressive business I have ever used. Noam is very customer oriented and responsive. He has only one way of doing things, the right way. During the installation, he accidently broke a sprinkling line. He bought the parts and repaired the line the correct way even though it added several additional hours to the project. Several weeks after installation, I realized I needed a gate spring. He responded the next day to attach the spring. Recently my post, which the gate is attached, moved and the lock no longer functioned. I emailed the problem and he responded the next day to add a catch to the gate so the lock worked again. I would strongly recommend his services to anyone interested in wrought iron work. By the way, the gate significantly improved the appearance of my home by opening up the view of the side yard.

Called to get arrange onsite visit and quote. Operator who answered was extemely rude Told me the price before even doing an Inspection. Very rude and unprofessional - AVOID THIS PLACE

To say I am very picky is an understatement. I got estimates from three companies. Although Method Doors and Gate was not the lowest bid, I chose the company because I was very impressed with the pictures I had seen of other projects the company had completed, the project manager, Val's, assurance he would personally work to ensure the project would meet my exacting standards, his willingness to work with me on the details of the design and his follow-up while I was in the process of getting additional bids and comparing them. Although Method was not the lowest bid, I give them an A for price because, as I describe below, there is no question I got my money's worth. After I hired Method I decided I wanted to install custom door hardware I found. Although Val had initially told me the hardware would have to fit a 3 inch width, when I encountered problems with the hardware manufacture who had mistakenly told me it would fit that width, true to their word, Method told me they would find a way work with the width problem. This was very important to me because I had my heart set on the hardware. Val also timely provided me with a drawing of the gate design, and modified it very quickly after I decided to slightly change it. On the first day of the installation, Norm, the installation manager, and the crew arrived on time. Toward the end of the first day, Norm encountered job site conditions that made the installation significantly more complicated than anticipated and were not apparent until well after the demo of the existing gate. Norm was very professional in immediately addressing and dealing with the issues, as was Val who came to the job site to ensure everything was handled correctly. They both worked until about 9 pm that night so the project would stay on schedule (it was estimated to take 3 days) and I would be able to secure the property that night. After two days of installation and a third day of painting and staining, there is no question I got my money's worth and the company delivered on their assurances of quality. The gate is beautiful, solid as a rock and smooth to operate, and the hardware integrates perfectly. I am amazed at how they were able to stain the wood to perfectly match the other wood in the same line of sight (our home is a craftsman bungalow and much of the front has wood trim) and paint the metal frame to perfectly match the wood finish. I have had faux finishing done before, but this is truly masterful. Additionally, I really appreciated that Norm, who worked his tail off and was very precise measuring, leveling and tweaking for two very long days, checked with me on some of the details we hadn't discussed like the location and placement of the two mechanical boxes for the equipment that replaced the single box I had. That kind of care and attention to detail is hard to come by.

Don't believe the "Free Estimate" line. It isn't.

Val came out to give us an estimate and in less than a week, they started working on the gate. They arrived on time each day and were very clean, professional and meticulous. The gate is AMAZING! The workers are hard working, extremely friendly and polite. If we had any questions, they had no problem explaining the process to us. We have received so many great compliments on the gate. They did a great job!

Super punctual and responsive! Quick turnaround from signing contract to installation. Everyone is polite and professional; quality work and quality product. A tad on the expensive side, but worth the extra money for reliability and results. Thanks Val and team!

I called three different companies found on Angie's List. Two of them wouldn't be able to come out until the next day, but Method estimated that someone could arrive within 2 hours and had a service call fee that was less than half of what the one of the other companies quoted. I had an off-site meeting, but they assured me that they would call me on my cell phone once they arrived at my building and let me know the problem and cost of repair. They took my contact info, as well as the person at the office who would greet them, let that person know when they would be arriving, and then promptly arrived within the hour window they gave. When returning to the office, I was informed that the workers were clean, polite, and quick with the repair. Upon inspecting their work, I was pleased, particularly that they had my problem fixed within hours of my call.

Called another company for an estimate and they said they could provide it via phone if I sent them a picture. They quoted me $650 and said they needed to repair both (even though I have 3) hinges. When I said the other hinges are fine and only the bottom one needed to be fixed, they insisted all or nothing. I chose nothing and went with Method Garage Doors (MGD) instead. The welder came in the agreed to time frame and provided an estimate. He told me the welds were incorrectly done and that's why the weld broke. Apparently, the welds on the other gates/hinges were fine, but for whatever reason, it was reversed on 2 of the 3 hinges. He said since it was a clean break, he could re-use the hinge on the broken hinge and he would re-weld the other one. He quoted $350 for everything and I gave him the okay. He finished about an hour later and the gate is working great.

Method Garage Doors and Gates built and installed two beautiful wooden walkway gates for our home. They weren't the least expensive bid but we opt'd to work with them based on other reviews posted online and the professionalism and knowledge demonstrated by their salesman, Val. They did not disappoint. Everything happened as scheduled with regular calls from their customer service along with way to reconfirm work schedules and job flow. Their installation crew was excellent and cleaned up completely after each day's work. The new gates are solidly built and installed and the design and finish are top-notch. We're really pleased and would definitely hire Method Garage Doors and Gates again in the future.

The bid was over four times the the price.

They are so reliable. Everything that they do seems effortless. If you have a problem, they come almost immediately. They are just amazing! If you have gates, fences or any entry system, they are the company for you. Their prices are on the high side, but the quality of their work is outstanding.

They were not the ones I ended up using for the work. My experience with them went well. My interaction with them coming out and giving me a bid was excellent.

We called for an appointment for a quote and they arranged it within a few days. Their quote and negotiation over the quote was prompt and professional. We worked out a timeline for getting the work done, and they did it on time, on budget, and with a level of quality we are very happy about. Their workers were courteous, polite, and really conscientious about ensuring that everything was cleaned up and nice before they left each day. I can't say enough good things.

They price seemed reasonable. They came the same day and came very quickly. The work was good. He just did what I asked him to and didn?t try to sell me anything that I didn?t need.
