Services refrigerator poorly never use them again!

Their communication was great and were willing to work over email. Once they came by, they realized that fixing the fridge wouldn't be worth the cost and advised we should just replace it. Respected that they chose to tell us the truth over trying to make more money of us! Definitely recommend.

I will never call anyone else for an appliance repair again. I first called Sears (it was a Kenmore appliance, after all). Sears completely missed my appointment, didn't call me to tell me they either weren't coming or were going to be late. Meanwhile, I had taken the day off work to wait. Same old story. I had called Lerman before to fix my refrigerator, so I figured I should give them a call. I was so glad I did. They were there when they said they would be and fixed the washer perfectly.

They had given us an estimate a few days earlier based on a picture we emailed. Two very nice people, father and son, showed up within the time window promised, and did the job very skillfully and cleanly. They charged exactly what the estimate was which we thought was very reasonable. We were particularly impressed that they did stuff beyond the scope of the work such as thoroughly clean the surrounding parts and valves. They made our 30 year old kitchen hood work like new.

Appliance could not be fixed economically, and service person honestly told me to get a new one rather than trying to fix old....

I had a 10-year-old front-loading washer with a bad rear bearing, and was on the fence to repair or replace it, so I contacted this provider for a ballpark estimate and anticipated parts availability for the repair. I spoke with a very pleasant woman on the phone who asked me to send an email with model and necessary repair details, and who advised it would take 24-48 hours for someone to get back to me. I sent the email, and within half an hour I had a very professional and thorough response that provided the ballpark repair figure, as well as a recommendation that i not repair the unit given the model, age and expense. I was grateful for the timeliness and candor, and am proceeding with a new unit based on their recommendation. These folks are now top of my list for any future appliance repair need.

This company family owned and located in Van Nuys, CA.. I live in Moorpark, CA and they had no problem traveling that distance.. Over my lifetime, I have dealt with all kinds of service people. I have owned my own business for over 35 years. I am mechanically inclined and also have a pretty reliable BS detector. The owner's son came to do the repair. Time window 9am to noon - Arrived at 8:55 am both times he came. On the first visit he diagnosed a major multi part failure on the washer ( mostly my fault from 5 years of overloading) and told me the problem with the dryer (which left clothes slightly damp) could be a number of things. Suggested, I try drying a load using the manual setting for the same amount of time suggested by the automatic settings. if i had no luck that way he would take it apart on his next visit and determine which of the parts he would start to replace one at a time to effect a cure. He ordered three major parts for the washer and promised a call when they arrived. In the meantime I washed four loads at the laundromat and brought them home wet. I dried them manually in the way suggested and they all came out as dry as a bone. NO REPAIR NEEDED just use manual. I concluded the automatic heat sensor design didn't do as well with mixed loads and there was no parts failure. I got the call as promised, the son showed up the next day at 8:55 am. He Installed the two parts we knew for sure were history and did a test run. Everything checked out and the third part he ordered and paid for was not needed. He buttoned up the machine, and asked me for a rag to clean the floor where it had been living for five years and the actual invoice came in about $ 200.00 under the original estimate. They are Honest, Neat & Clean, Informative and if they don't know an answer to a question They will tell you. They don't blow smoke up your chimney if you get my drift. I can't say enough about the professionalism of these folks from this experience. From the communication and scheduling to the promptness and expertise. They are awesome!! All A++ I'm one satisfied customer.

The owner's son came the same day I called for service. He was very professional and knew what to do and charged fairly.

They charged us $1300 to replace a compressor. Within 2 weeks, the freezer stopped working. They came back and charged us $1300 to replace a freezer part. Within a week, both the refrigerator and freezer both stopped working. We called Lerman and they wanted to send another repairman. We told them that we wanted our money back and they said they would consider it and get back to us. They never called back, so we asked again, and they said, "How much do you want back?" We were willing to take $1300 and they said, "We'll think about it and get back to you." Of course they never called back, so our final call was met with, "We're not going to refund anything." These guys are first class charlatans and dishonest and do poor work. Avoid at all costs.

They are wonderful! A family team that is professional and courteous. They always make sure that they clean up afterwards. Our Microwave oven smelled like it was burning. I thought I was going to have to buy a new one. My microwave is now ready to go for many more years :)

Lerman's has become our go-to outfit for service on our major appliances (so far washer, dryer, and dishwasher.) They've always been able to respond on a service call within a day, and always seem to anticipate the part we're going to need and have it in their truck. Two or three different technicians have come on various calls, and they've all been friendly and knowledgeable, as is the office staff when we call.

Not sure what to say on this review. Here is our story on Lerman's: We have a Kenmore French Door refrigerator. The freezer had a long standing problem of forming ice crystals and the freezer light would not come on. The deli tray in the fridge portion would freeze what ever was in the back. We were just about to leave on vacation when we noticed it was no longer cooling. So we quickly stored our stuff in our neighbor's freezer and left for our flight. When we came back we called Lerman's to fix it. The service man was prompt and friendly. He told us that most-likely it was the motherboard and the switch for the freezer light would have to be replaced to get the freezer light to come on.. He demonstrated how hot the outside of the freezer was. The cost for all of this would be around $400. At this point after having problems with this unit for years , we had sunk already too much money into this appliance and were thinking new refrigerator. After the service man left we noticed we could not get the freezer door to close properly (it is a bottom door freezer). So we called Lerman's back. Since we were concerned that the door was not put back on properly the head guy came out to make the fix (I think it was Dimitri). He he noticed that the freezer was not put back together properly and corrected the problem. Since we were not wild about putting $400 more dollars we paid Lerman's for the service called and decided to just limp along until the unit died (at that point it was working again). Well, since Dimitri fixed the door we no longer have a problem with ice forming around the opening, the freezer light is working again, the opening around the freezer is no longer hot and items no longer freeze in the deli tray in the fridge. I have confidence in the unit again! I am guessing that since we have had these problems for YEARS, another repair company put the door on in such a way that let air into the freezer causing the unit to work harder and at times overheat which caused it to shutdown and it was that ice crystals were keeping the light switch from working. BTW, our past experiences with Sears Service was dismal. So while the initial diagnosis was not correct, Dimitri was able to fix the issue. It said a lot that they took complete responsibility for their worker and made it right quickly and in our case fixed the issue. I would definitely use Lerman's again. I would just request the head guy to come. He definitely knows refrigerators. Every time I open the freezer I thank God for him.

They did not do the work, but they did give me great advice on what to do.

An excellent experience all around. Very prompt and courteous in responding to my questions and accommodating my schedule. Let me know when he would arrive ahead of time and met that promise. Seemed very knowledgable and clearly explained my options. Even gave some advice on how to maintain the washer. They also prepared ahead of time so that they had replacement parts on hand to fix the problem immediately. The only thing I can't comment on one way or another is the price. I have no reason to think the pricing was not competitive; I just don't have an objective way to know in this case because, by my own choice, I did not get quotes from other companies. Highly recommend this company.

Scheduled an appointment. Nice folks on the phone. The service tech Dimitri arrived on time and assessed the dishwasher. After much troubleshooting, he determined that the small drain pump had stopped working. Since this was going to be a significant added expense, he gave us a thorough explanation/demonstration of the problem. He provided a quote ($400 for parts and labor), I agreed and gave him a $200 deposit. Dmitri said he would order the parts, confirm the quote, get back to us mid-week and schedule the service appt for the following Saturday. He did all those things (the estimate turned out to be $15 less), and then arrived promptly at the scheduled time Saturday. The work took him about two hours. I only gave a B for quality because the door, while fixed, doesn't work like it did when new. There seems to be a little too much friction. It should "soft-eject" like an old cassette player, but you actually have to pull it all the way down. Still, it's a hundred times better than it was before, and the drain works perfectly, so consider that B really a B+. I am very pleased with the service this local company provides, and I highly recommend them. Dmitri our service tech was nice, prompt, professional and left our kitchen (and hardwood kitchen floors) exactly the way he found them. We sent him home with a delicious Italian sausage chili dog we'd been cooking while he was there. Well done.

The Lerman Appliances Inc. is a great company to work with. The first time I called them, our old stacked washer/dryer was leaking, and they replaced the water inlet siphon. They could have told us anything, but were very honest, and shared the fact the older stacked washer/dryers are better than the newly manufactured ones and worth fixing. Dimitry, the service man, was so pleasant and such a hard worker. It is not easy working on a stacked washer/dryer which is placed tightly in a small condo hall closet. About six months later, we had leaking within the washer tub, and the water was about to overflow onto the floor. We were happy to have Lerman Appliances to call, and Demitry came to our rescue again. This time it was the water valve that was no longer shutting off. He was able to fix this leak with a new valve. The owners, office staff, and the service man, Demitry, are wonderful to work with, very honest, and helpful with advice. I recommend them highly and will use them again.

We didn’t have any work done. They came when they said they would and they were helpful. They looked at our stove. They were punctual, provided a fast service and provided me with a quote that same day.

We are having problems with our dyer not starting and being unbalanced. The first repairman said it was a due to a faulty lint collector and did not fix the problem. We called back and the owner apologized and came out and replaced the motor and bearing in the drum. The dryer worked for awhile and is back to not starting again. So a lot invested in the dryer but didn't fix the problem. We're going to look for a new repair shop.

After my frustration with the two repair companies my insurance provider recommended, I turned to Angie's list.||Lerman appliances were helpful and easy to schedule on the phone, they showed up on time, and within 20 minutes were able to explain exactly what was broken and how much it would cost to fix. They even explained what might cost slightly more, depending on how the parts required were delivered, and what additional things they recommended we do to service the unit. Further, they were up front about what we did not need to fix. ||Lerman Appliance ordered the parts and estimated they would call within a week to schedule actual repair. They called as promised, showed up as scheduled, and in an hour they repaired a dryer that had been broken for months because the other vendors couldn't figure it out. ||I'd call them again for any appliance issues.

It was horribly expensive for someone to just opening the machine and vacuum it. I could have done that. For $90 he replaced some $2 hose. Frustratingly expensive.

They are professional and work very efficiently. They explain exactly what they are going to do and always do a good job. As far as I know they are very honest and I will be using them in the near future.

Took time to explain what a repair of my clothes drier would entail.

The workman showed up VERY promptly, right after the start of the service window, which was within ~1-1.5 hours of the call. He was very courteous and professional and pleasant to interact with. He diagnosed the problem effectively and fixed it relatively quickly. My only complaint is price. The part in question is $30. Labor was billed at $237. I didn't time the work but it took at most ~75 minutes. Maybe I'm not being realistic, but it just seems like an unreasonably high hourly rate compared to what other highly skilled labor (e.g. car repair) bills out at - even if you factor in travel cost. The price is high enough that I would be seriously tempted to use a different service next time around.
