Lerman Appliances

This was one of the best consumer experiences I've ever had. In every way. Lerman Appliances not only scheduled me for my consult the same day I called but gave me a reasonably short time frame in which to expect the serviceman to arrive (1-4pm.) As it turns out, Ilya called me and said he was running early and could come even earlier. He arrived within a couple of hours of my initial call for help. Ilya was a consummate professional. Not only smart, efficient, and polite but as it turned out, gymnastic enough to crawl through a tiny space to reach and work behind my stacked washer/dryer. As I said above, he not only fixed the glaring problem but saw another problem as well that would have caused me major grief down the line. He took under two hours fixing everything and, as I say, working in impossibly cramped conditions. If I ever have appliance problems again I will call Lerman and ask for Ilya. He's earned all my business and I will absolutely refer him to other people. I should add that Lerman Appliances is a family owned and operated business which makes all the difference. He learned the trade from his dad. Where he learned gymnastics I have no idea. I don't often give rave reviews. But there's a reason this "A" rated company has so many just like mine.

They were not able to come out to our home within the time frame I wanted, plus they said they may have to order a part but wouldn't know until they came out.

Great! I requested Mike, the service person, because he was terrific on a previous repair. Mike had the parts in his truck because he explained that he brought parts that would most likely be the cause of the problem. He was correct and repaired the washing machine in a timely manner. The Angie's List discount certainly was a bonus! This was the second house call by Lerman Appliance and highly recommend them. Mike is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I called Lerman 30 minutes before the scheduled time window (12-3 P.M.) and the person told me that Mike would be there within 30 minutes. Mike showed up just as advised.

They were on time, quick, and neat about their work. I set up an appointment and they gave me the best price for what I asked. I requested two workers to come fix my problem because my washer and dryer unit is a stackable combination and they sent me two workers who showed up punctually. They pinpointed the problem right away and told me that a credit card was stuck in my dryer vent. They took apart the unit and did not make a mess. I really appreciated that they took the time to listen to me and they didn't even charge me for the first visit where they diagnosed my problem. I would definitely use them again!

Our oven had stopped working and Vitaliy opened it up and said it could be one of three things, thermostat, igniter or safety valve. He decided to try a new igniter, which he had in his truck, and told us the cost for the part and labor. The igniter worked after he installed it, but the gas didn't turn on. We were worried that it could be the safety valve because they are expensive. Vitaliy kept working at it and finally the gas came on. He thought the valve had probably gotten stuck because we hadn't used it for so long. Also our washing machine decided to just keep running the water out over the top and all over the floor before we caught it. Vitaliy took the front cover off and checked around. Turned out to be a clogged hose that is part of the system to determine when to shut off the water. Very simple and quick. Vitaliy told us to get some washing machine cleaner, which we hadn't heard of before and we definitely will. We will call Lerman again if needed.

great job the washing was giving us trouble and we needed it fixed quick so we called the best Lerman Appliances now were washing our clothes and the washing machine is working great .

Service person was clean, polite, punctual, professional, and competent. He replaced a circuit board type thingy and now the oven works beautifully. It was expensive, due to the component needed. He showed me online the cost of the part, so I would know he wasn't inflating it. He took the despair out of appliance repair! Will use this company again!

they did a great job explaining what the problem was with it told me how much it would amount to got the job done fairly quickly no issues what so ever now my wife is happy she'll come to the house with a working dishwasher.

I will definitely call them again if I need another repair.

Ilya was great! He is professional, methodical, and meticulous. He first asked me what was wrong with my appliances, then set about to diagnose what was the causing the problems. I highly recommend Ilya and will not hesitate to call Lerman for future appliance repairs.

I spent between $400 and $450. They're a fairly good company, the owner came down and he went above and beyond. Something that had nothing to do with his work he helped me out with so I found him kind.

Lerman's repaired my Washing Machine in April 2014 by replacing the timer. Labor charge was $100. On 6/16/2014 they replaced a belt on my dryer and labor charge was $140. When I phoned the office to ask why labor was $40 more, even though in April it took them a lot longer, I was told because it was a different machine and washer and dryer labor is priced differently. This does not seem realistic to me nor a very satisfactory explanation.

Dealt with the very crappy customer service that Viking provides so I didn't have to. I would definitely work with Lerman Appliances again!

Vitaly came out to see my appliances and was very willing to let me see everything, to explain everything to me, and to let me ask him lots of questions. It's obvious he has a lot of expertize and not only knows what he is doing but likes it too. Every time the came they were punctual and tried to be as clean as possible in their work. It was a pleasure to work with Lerman Appliances.

This is actually for two separate jobs, but they were so close together, timewise, I'm considering them as one. But, keep in mind, they came out twice. The first time, there was no heat from the clothes dryer. Ilya came out, explained the problem and repaired it by replacing the coils. Shortly thereafter, the washing machine stopped spinning during the spin cycle. Ilya came out, once again, and this time replaced the lid switch. Ilya impressed me very much. He is extremely polite. He is also very patient, calmly answering every question thrown at him. He's also very punctual, which means a lot. I was referred to Lerman Appliances by someone who has also been very happy with their work. I will definitely use them again.

Couldn't have had a better experience with this family owned business. The ice-maker in the fridge broke. Ilya came out right on time, checked everything out, told me it needed to be replaced and explained why. He ordered the part, called me when it arrived, returned on time, installed it, told me how to clean it and played with the puppy. Even calling them was a pleasure with the personable Va, explaining their service terms, background and years in the community. Thank you Angie's List for putting me on to them!

Good work. Helpful etc but given the price they are smart to be so attentive.

Very professional and arrived on time Cleared drain line and found a piece of silverware basket clogging the drain. Explained why this was happening and how to prevent it. Recommended to use a cleaning product to maintain dishwasher and get rid of water spots

This is my first experience with Angie's List and the repairman carefully explained how Angie's List works. Even though the machine was not broken and works well, he still spent a lot of time inspecting it.

The fridge wasn't working, and Vitaly immediately showed me a hidden area where ice had built up. He instructed me to turn off the unit entirely and let the ice melt - then turn it on again. He said there was an 80% chance just doing that would solve the problem. He also stated that there were 3 other possible sources for the problem, and gave me estimates for each of those scenarios. But it turns out his prediction was accurate - I thawed out the ice and restarted the fridge - it's been working great ever since! The nice thing about Vitaly - besides his obvious knowledge and experience - is his integrity. He could have charged me a lot of money - as the Sears guy was trying to do - but he chose honesty instead. He has my loyalty now!

It went great. The Owner (Vitaly) came out on Sat and diagnose that our refrigerator needs a main board/evaporator. We decided to hold off and get another quote from our main guy Boris from Nationwide Appliance Service (AAA Local Appliance Service). Boris has repaired our refrigerator for the past year. He came and told my husband that it can be two reason(s) why it?s not functional. Boris indicated that he can replace this part for $550 and if it didn?t work we can do this for $800. If these two does not work, you will need to get a new refrig. Never less to say, we went with Lerman Appliances for the repairs. The owner told my husband that if the main board doesn?t work and he will not charge us for it and will return the part. His price range was from $200-$600 while Boris was doing a guessing game with price range of $550 over $800. It would have cost us $1350 if we went with Boris guessing game. Lerman Appliances is my new appliances/repair guy. Both father and son are knowledgeable and HONEST.

Called on Friday 5/16 and was able to get an appointment for that day. My oven had been taking a long time to heat up and the service technician diagnosed the problem quickly. Needed a new ignitor. Unfortunately, he did not have his truck where the part might be found, so was unable to do anything further. He returned on Monday 5/19 and installed the ignitor in about 15 minutes. Labor cost was $160. Received a $20 Angie's list discount, but I still feel that $160 was very high. For that reason, I would try another provider if I had another problem with an appliance.

I found these guys highly recommended on Angie's list. I sent a message to them and requested service & got a response back almost immediately. Vitally, their technician, was extremely polite and efficient. He correctly diagnosed the problem with my dishwasher and was able to fix it on the spot. My microwave, which is not a standard size, was a little more troublesome. We discussed simply replacing it, but came to the conclusion that, given its unusual size, it was cheaper to fix it. He had to order a part which took some time to be delivered. When he came back the second time with the part he was able to fix the microwave within about a half an hour. I could not be more pleased with the service I received! I will definitely use them again the next time I have a problem with any of my kitchen appliances.

They seemed okay. It went good. He is good.

Responses to e-mail and phone enquiries were prompt. They obtained some information over the phone to help ensure that the technician would arrive with the needed parts in stock. Ilya arrived exactly on time at the start of the appointment window I'd been given. He was clean, polite and orderly, at first describing what he thought the problem was, and then when I agreed to the repair, showing me the source of the noise. He was pleasant and informative. In the long run it was far easier and quicker to have him tackle the problem than attempt it myself.
