They do great work. They are a little on the pricey side, but worth it. They use kiln dried wood and metal posts. When they cement the posts in the ground they mound the cement so water runs off.

They were on time and finished the job in the time specified. The materials used and the workmanship was excellent quality. The men installing the fence were courteous and professional. Before each section was built they asked my for my input and made the small adaptions that I suggested to meet my needs perfectly. They cleaned up the area when they were finished. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again for any future fencing I may need.

This company provides an excellent and high quality product. Mark, Nancy and their staff are hard working and extremely knowledgeable. Nancy goes out of her way to make sure the customer is happy. I was very happy with their services and I got exactly what I asked for. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. The ideal situation would have included better communication, organization, and a slightly higher level of professionalism.

Excellent all around. Mark was very communicative and his wife was responsive to emails. The workers arrived on time and worked hard all day. They cleaned up thoroughly when they were finished. The welder even cut a place in the steel post for my door strike and helped me solve security issue dilemmas. Very good service and wonderful workers.

He was the only person I had come to look at the project that described what exactly he was going to do. He showed me pictures of his work and he had samples of the product he would be using. He did not just buy sections of fences and put them up, he actually built them. He was a very nice person to work with. He had to do some other work to get the job done, but he never complained. I had a neighbor that didn't want to work on the project, but he never got upset, but just did the job and did it well. The other thing I liked about him was if I needed to change something with the project he worked with me to do so. He even wrote me a thank you card when the job was finished. I would definitely use him again.

all dealings with this company went well. very professional. spoke on the phone several times about what i was looking for and they gave a very detail oriented estimate for the work to be done. the workers arrived at 9am on day of work and were finished at 6:30 pm. took away the old fence and the fence and gates they build are excellent, in fact, i would say the double gate is a 'work or art'. the finishing is so well done that you cant even tell there is a gate in the fence. i keep telling everyone about my 'beautiful fence'.

Excellently. They demolished and hauled away the rubbish from the old deck and built a beautiful 64 sq. ft. redwood deck; 2X6 space redwood deck, steel girder posts, set in concrete footing, 4X4 treated joist members/ floor boards screwed into joists. And installed approx. 16 feet of 6 ft high redwood fencing around the platform that includes a gate with a standard heavy duty latch. The company representative who came to the house was on time, courteous, informative, and efficient. Once a price and date were agreed upon, the workmen arrived on time and did superb work in an efficient, timely manner. They were professional enough to consult us about certain detailed modifications before proceeding and then built to those desired specifications. I don't think it could have been done any better.

The fence and gate that I now have in my yard appear to be very sturdy and use quality materials. Unfortunately, it is not what I asked for when I provided my down payment. This is partly my fault, but mostly their fault when you consider that this is the first time I hired a contractor and they do this stuff all the time. During the first visit for the estimate, I had originally asked for a 6-1/2 to 7 foot fence to replace the previous fence with roughly the same height. Mark wrote the estimate for 8 feet, saying that it wouldn?t matter because anything over 6 feet required materials that were 8 feet. He also took measurements next to my neighbor?s house to demonstrate that an 8 foot fence would not be advisable, as it would meet the fascia of the house, to which I agreed and said we would like a 7 foot fence. Also, when I asked if I would need to hire someone else to clean up the stucco area that the previous gate was mounted to, Mark said that he would handle it. Upon acceptance of the estimate, Mark returned to finalize the plan and to provide an additional estimate for my rear neighbor?s side fence, which is called on his estimate at 7 feet. Mark took our initial payment for materials and said that the details would be corrected on the invoices that would be generated prior to the work. We also agreed on a gate which was described to me as steel framed slotted wood with no attachments to the houses. Finally, it was our understanding that the soil retention board would be used for the entire fence. Let me be clear right now about my mistake. I should not have signed or paid for anything without the documentation properly in order. In the future, I plan to write engineering specifications for every job I hire a contractor for and insist that it be included in the quote and all subsequent documents. Here is the result of the verbal agreement that Mark and I had regarding adjusting the paperwork. On job day, the crew appeared at my house. I was asked about which way the fence would face and nothing more. I assumed that they were professionals and knew what was going to happen. I also assumed that the guy I had been dealing with would actually be at the site. I went about my business and did not concern myself with checking their work. Big mistake!!! When I finally did look at what they were doing, they were building an 8 foot fence. They built the fence right up to the fascia of the side neighbor?s house, a good 18 inches higher than the block wall that the fence starts at in my yard, and a foot higher than the side fence in the back neighbors yard (which is really weird because why would anyone say ?build my back fence at 8 feet and my side fence at 7 feet??). The soil retention board we were told later was only necessary at certain locations, even though I was clear about not wanting any space between the ground and the fence to contain my animals and the soil retention board being the solution. When I called Mark to tell him about the fence height, I was told that I wanted an 8 foot fence (what an idea, don?t try to fix the problem making the customer unhappy, try to convince the customer that he wanted the problem). I then proceeded to complain about the estimate adjustments, as I could not afford to pay more than my share that day. At this point he agreed that he should have had an invoice ready and told me to go ahead and pay what I thought was my part. Clearly this wouldn?t do for the neighbor, so I had to build a spreadsheet showing the original estimate costs and the revisions that resulted in the final costs for each of us. I received an email an hour after the crews were paid and left telling me to take $100 off because I had to do that (if he meant it, he could have sent me a check anytime in the past two weeks instead of leaving me an email after everyone is gone). As the crew was leaving, I told them that they were not done with my gate. Nevermind that it looked like crap, it didn?t have the latch for the pad lock on the front for meter reader access, and it didn?t have the self-closing spring mechanism required by law due to the spa in the back yard. All of this stuff was discussed with Mark, but the crew seemed completely unaware of it (which is really odd, because Mark told me that he went over the job in detail with the crew, 8 foot fence and all). They didn?t clean the area where the previous gate was attached and they mounted the gate posts to the walls anyway using L brackets (after Mark told me the gate would not be mounted to the wall, his plan). They caulked two holes in the wall with brown caulk (the wall is yellow) and left the holes in the wall behind the posts, which they set in concrete to ensure nobody every fixed that area. The crew also screwed a pair of boards on to the posts, saying that the gate allowed too much visibility to the back yard, something Mark promised me would not occur. In summary, I have a fence that is at least 1 foot taller than ordered, when I complained I was told that I wanted the great wall of china in my back yard (even though the neighbor clearly didn?t), I have a gate that looks like h*** (it?s sturdy, but ugly), I spent an hour cleaning the sawdust from the front yard and street, I still have hours to go cleaning the sawdust from the back yard and trying to clean up around the gate, and I paid full price and tipped the crew and provided drinks for them. As stated, I own some responsibility for this, as I was not assertive regarding documentation, which would have saved me from this headache. On the other hand, what I was told and what I got were two different things and now I have to live with this crap because I had no correct paperwork to point to. I didn?t argue with him when the job was going to h*** because of my health concerns, but I shouldn?t have had to argue anyway because the whole point of this exercise is to give them work and give me a product that makes me happy. LESSON LEARNED: DON?T PAY FOR OR SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL IT IS ALL IN WRITING, IN DETAIL, AND CORRECT AND DON?T TAKE ANYONE?S WORD FOR ANYTHING.

I spent months and months shopping fence contractors and getting estimates and had two other contractors fall out before I chose to go with Finest Fence. My wife and I wanted a particular style of modern horizontal redwood fencing that is difficult to construct properly and it takes a skilled experience professional to do it right. Mark at Finest fence was very prompt and professional. He worked with us to keep the costs manageable (we wanted champagne on a beer budget) and he even located a source for the redwood that was able to give us an excellent deal. The crew that constructed the fence was terrific. They were pleasant, skilled, professional and polite. They also cleaned up extremely well. I was very happy with the service. We had a few minor issues with swelling of the wood on the gate after construction and Mark had his crew come out three different times and make the adjustments to make sure that we were happy - he did this at no additional charge. The Fence was not cheap - that was our decision; we wanted something very nice - but we were happy with the service provided by Finest Fence and I recommend them to other homeowners looking for a good fence contractor who stands behind their work. Note: I just wish I had chosen a painter with the same level of skill to do the stain on the wood. I went with a low cost painter I knew personally and I was not very thrilled with the final product - but that had nothing to do with Finest fence, that was my own choice. Next time I will go with a seasoned pro on the painting as well.
Description of Work: Finest fence demoed an old wall and fence and constructed a beautiful modern double sided horizontal redwood fence.

Estimate given by Mark was by far the best both in cost and the fact he was able to show us what the finished gate/fence would look like. Gave us an estimate on Monday, the work was done on Wednesday. Professional team arrived on time and spent the whole day doing the work. They also hauled away the old gates which had been an extra charge on the other estimates. The guys did their job well and kept out of our way except when they needed our input. Job very well done and finished by 7pm that evening. Heartily recommend this company for any fence and gate work. Unfortunately I had to update this review. I reported a minor problem and the response I got as well as the time and effort it took to get it corrected left me with a very diminished appreciation of this company.

I spoke with several of the crew during the construction, and many of them have been working with the company for over 10 years. This really shows in the way they work and maintain the job site all through the project. Several times they consulted me where a decision needed to be made, and made excellent suggestions. The entire fence was complete in two days, and they eft the yard clean and pristine. Several of my neighbors have remarked on the beautiful workmanship. This was NOT an easy project, and Finest Fence made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I plan to use them again soon for a new deck...and then maybe a wall extension! Just a note, I also had them install a custom wrought iron driveway gate, and they beat all the competition. I just Love it,
Description of Work: Mark and the entire crew at Finest Fence are incredibly professional in every respect. I have a flag lot over 275 feet long, and the fences along the driveway and border were barely standing, which made for a very large project with a number of complicating factors. From the quote to the cleanup, the entire process was a pleasure. Mark brought samples of the wood to our appointment, and worked with me on my concerns to design an elegant fence that would greatly enhance the property as well as satisfy a number of my objectives.

I would highly recommend Finest Fence and would use them again in a heartbeat. Its not easy to find contractors you can trust and who deliver on their promises. To be honest because of some bad experiences w other contractors during our backyard remodel ive become a bit skittish and sceptical. Sadly many contractors we've dealt with have over promised and under delivered. I met with 4 fence contractors and just got a good feeling about Mark Kaesberg. When we gave Finest Fence the job Mark told me "I'm gonna make you look good (to my husband for choosing his company)" and I thought to myself, you dont know how detail-oriented my husband is. I am happy to write that he was right he did "make me look good" and my perfectionist husband is very happy with the job.
Description of Work: Working with Mark Kaesberg and his crew was a great experience. We had 220 feet of tongue and groove wood fence with cap and trim put up around our home. The guys were punctual, professional and did a beautiful job in 4 days on a somewhat tricky project (existing walls, uneven ground levels...) We really appreciate how they cleaned up every day before they left. In our 7 month backyard remodel project we have encountered our fair share of contractors for various jobs and Finest Fence were the best.

My neighbor put me in charge of finding a contractor to install a fence along the property line that divides our backyards We were sharing the cost. I met with three contractors including Mark Kaesberg of Finest Fence. Mark's price was competitive, but more importantly, he displayed both knowledge and patience; and I felt I could count on his company doing a quality job while being easy to work with. I was correct. I would definitely use Finest Fence again.

Mark's crew came about 1:00, assembled the gate on site, and had everything done in the late afternoon, maybe 4:00 or 5:00. It looks really good. The closing hardware is way better than the previous gate. The gate is well-balanced and has a nice feel to it.
Description of Work: I had a new block wall and the job was to build a gate. I chose redwood with a steel frame and a curved top like an arc instead of straight across. Additionally I had them stain the wood. The wall is six feet high and the highest part of the gate is the same height.

This was quick and painless! Mark's two men knew exactly what they were doing. They were here from about 9 am to 2:30pm and left my yard in great condition. I am very happy and relieved to have my old decrepit fence and shed out of there.
Description of Work: I had a 6' x 60' red wood fence installed and I'm extremely happy with the results. This company is fast, professional and does great work for a great price. The owner Mark was pleasant to work with and communicated well. His men also removed an old metal shed from my back yard that was a real eyesore and the price was very reasonable. I plan to refer them to my clients as I am in the real estate business and would also hire them again when I need more fencing installed.
