The owner came and gave us a bid on the job, and was very clear about the pros and cons of different choices. His price was good, and we decided to use them. They were scheduled to come between 1 and 2 pm on the particular day. At 1:45 I called to ask their ETA and they said that they'd gotten hung up on a job, and wouldn't be able to make it until 4. Unfortunately, they forgot to account for rush hour traffic and didn't make it until 5, which was rather late to be starting the job. They did keep us informed about the situation as it became clear to them. They arrived at 5, and worked h****** getting the garage door in place, despite needing to stay well past ordinary work time on a Friday to do so. We are reasonably happy with the installation. We did not have an outlet in a good spot for the motor, (we had a hand lift door previously) and they strung an extension cord from our washer outlet to it. This was not a very good work-around. I wish that they had mentioned the issue when they made the bid. I could not have done much about it in that time frame, but it would have made it less of an unpleasant surprise.

He was right on time and he did the job quickly and correctly.

I called MC Garage Doors. Matt arrived at my home punctually as agreed in under two hours. Matt quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. In addition he fixed another problem, lubricated the door and opener and adjusted things. The door now closes smoothly with a much lower down force setting. Matt, the owner of MC Garage Door, is a friendly, easy going guy. He was a pleasure to work with. He charged me his standard $59 garage door tune up fee. I am very pleased with Matt, the work that he did for me and the amount that he charged. I highly recommend MC Garage Doors.

I tried to close my garage door, and it buckled and crumpled in front of me. One of the rollers had come off the track. I checked Angie's List, and saw that MC Garage Doors did not charge extra for emergency weekend service, so I gave them a call at 5pm. He answered the phone and I described what had happened. He asked a few questions, then said he could be at my house at 7pm that evening, and the charge would be $145 to repair the problem, then service and lube the whole system. He arrived right on time, and was very courteous. Aften examing the door, he told me that my springs were not in very good shape, and suggested that I replace them. He gave a total price of $400 to replace the springs, all the rollers, tighten all bolts and supports, thoroughly clean and lube all parts. I thought it seemed fair, so gave the go ahead. He was there for 90 minutes, and I was very happy with the work. He showed me everything that he had done, and gave me a one year warranty on parts and labor. He left my garage cleaner than it was when he got there.

Matthew, who owns the company, did an excellent job from start to finish, and to post-installation service. He was punctual, both for the estimate and the installation (unlike other contractors whom we contacted for estimates). He even drove us around a neighborhood where he installed the type of door we were considering to give us a better idea of what the actual door looked like. He gave us top-of-the-line garage door and opener (with integrated battery backup) for a very reasonable price. His written estimate did not change when the job was completed. He and his brother-in-law also worked into wee hours on a Friday night to accommodate our schedule. They cleaned up thoroughly after the job was done. A few weeks after the installation, due to our own stupid mistake, we messed up the alignment. We called Matthew and was ready and more than happy to pay for the service. He came promptly (drove all the way from Saratoga to San Mateo) and fixed it right away, with no charge. We highly recommend Matthew and MC Garage Doors. They were professional, courteous, punctual, and responsive to calls and emails.
