Corky's Pest Control

Unfortunately I did not know about Angie?s List, otherwise I would have written the review immediately, as Corky?s Pest control does not deserve an A rating. My son was buying his father?s house. I?ve noticed some termite pebbles below the kitchen window and several other places around the house. I called Corky because the manager was singing at our Realtor UC caravan every Thursday. Glen (manager at Corky?s) also told me the termite inspection is free. The inspector came and recommended tenting the house. On their report, a small portion of dry-rod was noticed on the wood frame of the sliding glass door to the patio and at the bottom of the door frame to the garage. Otherwise, the inspector said the house was in great shape. Price for tenting $1,250.00 and a termite clearance. We sent a check for the full amount to Corky?s and they scheduled a Saturday morning 7AM tenting. At 8AM I was still waiting..when I called Corky?s no one answered. When the people finally arrived at 8:30AM, I was pretty furious. I asked them why they were so late, they told me they came all the way from Escondido, the job was in Sierra Mesa. They also told me they were hired as independent contractor by Corky? s. None of this was revealed to me by the inspector or Glen the manger. After the tenting was removed, we replaced the bad wood on the glass door frame and the garage door frame. In the meantime we received a bill for $75.00 for the inspection report. I called the office and mentioned a free inspection report, but the woman was so extremely rude, telling me who I think I was to get a free inspection report and that?s not their policy for a Real Estate transaction. I told them it was a family transfer, she told me she?ll get back to me. Which she never did. In the meantime I got another reminder to pay the $75.00. When I called the office again, the same woman put me on hold for a long time when I asked for Glen. When she finally came back on and I told her that Corky got the job because of Glen, she finally told me ok, but my son would not receive a termite clearance because they didn?t replace the wood. This is outrageous, I told them to come and re-inspect. 2 weeks later there were still termite pebbles everywhere. The inspector came out again and told me they would continue to come from the inside walls, and they were old pebbles. When I asked him to take a look at the 2 pieces of wood we replaced so we could get a termite clearance, he said that was fine and Corky?s guarantee is three years. We never did receive a termite clearance. I never compared prices with another Termite Company, but later found out, that $1,250 for a 1000SF house was not a bargain. It was Corky?s loss though, as a Realtor I sold many homes which needed thousands of dollars worth of termite repair but Corky will never be on my list or any other Realtor I told this story. The office personnel were absolutely the rudest people I ever dealt with. And Glen, keep singing, that?s the only thing Corky?s good for.

They come and I have no bugs in my house or outdoors. We have had them for over 10 years. They always knock on the door to let you know to bring your pet inside. We always have the same person each month. They send you a slip with the time and date they will arrive. It is very convenient.

I use them on a continuing basis. They have been good and I rate them very highly.

I give them top grades across the board.

I live in a mobile home. When I had it leveled and had new scotch put under it, the guys said that they have never been underneath a mobile home that was so bug free. So I highly recommend them. Since I have cats they make sure for fleece on my yard. If I get a bug or if I suddenly get invaded by ants they are right there to get rid them for me. They are very friendly.

I really liked that they used orange based products that are safe for pets. They had to do a little investigating to find out where the ants had originated. The ants never came back after the treatment.

Their services are always on time and I have not had any issues. Overall their services are going fine.

They are very professional and people who come out are very nice!

Corky's usually comes every month, they complete their services, and leave. They are very dependable, and they leave complete notes about what they have done. I've had them do some special services in the past, and they have been really responsive to meet my needs. I have been using them for about 8 years, and I'm not sure how to compare their pricing. I don't have any pests.

We are happy with their service and they do a good job.

I wasn't especially pleased with them. I don't think that I would really recommend them. They broke my gutters. I just didn't like them. There are still termites in my garage. When they come, they say they can do one thing but tell you all this stuff that you need.

They employees are like encyclopedias they are very knowledgeable.

They use organic sprays in the summer. I would definitely recommend them. I am happy with their services.

They have been great. They leave me a note telling me what they did and what time they did it. Their service is easy. I am happy with their price. I haven't had any pest problems since using their service.

I never had any issues with Corkey's Pest Control. I think they're pretty good. I'd give Corkey's Pest Control a B for overall experience.

They've always been very good. They always call before they are coming so that we can be prepared. We had an inspection, and the guy was very thorough on the inspection. He came for the rats and noticed other things that needed attention as far as termites and mold work.

They have a very reputation so I decided to go with them. They were efficient and did what they said they would do. They were on time and explained what he was going to do. I haven't seen any bugs since they came out to spray. I thought the price was going to be higher than I actually paid. They were very responsive. I called in the evening and they called me back that day and set the appointment up within a week. They were professional.

I have used them in the past when I have had a problem. They clean to use pet-friendly, children-friendly products on some stuff. I would recommend them. I called them before. I'm a repeat customer.

This was a terrible, costly and frustrating experience that cost us thousands of dollars. Our home was burglarized and ransacked while it was being tented, most likely on the night of 12/4. We were out of town. That evening, a Corkey's representative went to ventilate the house, saw the tent had already been slashed, and still left with the house unsecured. The thieves simply slit the screen and entered through the windows you left open. It is most likely that the actual burglary happened after that visit. She phoned us, but had no intention of calling the police until my husband insisted upon it, as we were several hundred miles away. We have no idea when the tent was slashed and have no way of knowing that the fumigation worked. Corky's agreed that the service had been compromised but still charged us for the service. Only after the fact did we learn that they had left the windows cracked open under the tent. We would have NEVER agreed to the service knowing that our home would not be secured. And now we have no way of knowing that all this loss will also mean that the termites have been eliminated. There is nothing in our contract that says our home would be vulnerable; in fact, it says that the windows will be open only after the tent is removed. Our representative, Hector, said our house would be secured at all time. In fact, the contract says that unlocked doors will be nailed shut. We incurred $5,000-$7,000 worth of loss. Corky refused to refund or or pay for the $2,500 cost of our insurance deductible and immediately credit our account for the $1,690 charge for the service. We lost heirlooms that could never be replaced. They were unresposive to phone calls, lied to the credit card company about meeting with the police officers that night, and tried to initimidate me through having their attorney call me. At one point, I told the attorney, Barbara Casino, that we would have never used Corky's if we knew our house would be left unsecured. She replied, "We would have never tented your house if we knew it would be burglarized." PLEASE do not use them; they were just awful!

Each service probably takes them about 45 minutes. They spray around the house and do what they’re supposed to do.

The services went well. We are keeping our contract with them.

I've been using them for several years. They show up when they're supposed to & call me when they're on their way. I had a big problem with tree rats & it's completely taken care of no other issue.

I am pleased with them. I have used them for about 3 years. Everything has been excellent except for 2 billing problems. We will continue to use them unless something else comes up.

I was called to set up an inspection and was told that because it was a inspection for escrow they would h ave to charge $75 for the estimate whether or not there was and infestation. If there was and they did the work it would be waived. I asked if other companies do the same and the person said yes. After calling two other companies one did not even mention a charge and the other said there would be a charge if there was NO infestation. Now those last to seem reasonable, but for Corkys' to make me feel obligated is unacceptable!

In the beginning I really, really like them. The reason we moved away from the was because the guy that started doing our service wasn't neat. He would spray around and was very willy nilly, and I didn't like it.
