Description of Work: I was "matched" with this provider through Snap Fix, which by the way I also would give a very poor grade to. I wanted to replace my back door. Simple enough, I sent a picture of the current door and replacement that I had already picked out at Home Depot. The provider was unwilling to come out to measure the door, since they wanted a two hour minimum for any work they did for me. Frankly, I would have been glad to pay the two hours but it wasn't offered as an option - this may have been Snap Fix rather than the contractor, I really don't know. Instead, I was told to call someone at the company who would explain to me how to measure it myself. After several attempts, I finally connected, and was given a fairly brush-off tutorial which consisted of, "it's either 30 or 32 inches." I asked politely why, then, Home Depot wanted to schedule appointments for door replacements if it was so easy and he brusquely responded, "I can't answer for Home Depot." Suffice to say, at this point in retrospect I should have quit working with Snap Fix and the contractor but I went ahead and ordered the door. There was FAR more to ordering it than "30 or 32 inches" but I did my best. I then asked if the contractor would at least check my order to make sure I had gotten the details correct. No response from either Snap Fix or the contractor until days later. When Snap Fix did respond, I said I was very unhappy. From that point, Snap Fix went weeks between e mails, until I finally got an e mail asking what could be done to make this a "better experience." I said that I would be satisfied if the contractor installed the door for the originally quoted price (which was much more, by the way, than I ultimately paid to have it installed), and if any accommodations were required by the size, that I not be charged. By this point you can guess that I didn't get a quick reply back from Snap Fix saying that seemed fair or reasonable. At any rate, the door is in now and I would never use this contractor for anything.

Description of Work: My whole experience was very frustrating. I had a scheduled appointment to get an estimate on a project. Before the appointment I emailed them a detailed outline of the project details - which were never given to the estimator. Upon his arrival, he had no clue why I scheduled the appointment. During a :15 walk through of the house and review of the project not a single measurement or note was taken. Instead, I was subjected to a :45 minutes sales presentation/pitch - a review of all the information I had already read on their website. A COMPLETE waste of my time. If I wanted an estimate, I was told I'd have to make another appointment. When I tried to schedule a second appointment they refused to commodate my busy schedule - caution: reviews say they make Saturday appointments. They don't! We later hired a company that was more repectful of our time, listened to our needs, met our expectations for a quality product and work, cost 40% less than the "range" CASE mentioned.

We are confused by this feedback. As the owner of the company, I made several attempts to reach this Angie's List member personally to get more information. My calls have not been returned. The reason we are confused is that our version of the situation is quite different. This homeowner developed a huge list of repair and remodeling projects that involve design and selection of many materials incluuding doors, windows, painting, electrical, and so on. On Saturday June 9, our remodeling consultant presented an overview of the company and went into more detail about our design process that goes beyond what our web-site covers. The client mentioned that she would get back to us and let her know if she decided to move forward on the design process. On June 16, she e-mailed she would like to ahead with the design phase. Our consultant spent the next week e-mailing her to confirm a follow-up meeting. On June 22, she returned his e-mail letting him know she wouldn't be ready to move ahead until July 16. Meanwhile she wrote this review on July 8, but never contacted us letting us know about her issues or her decision. We first read about it here. It was strange that the client felt the first appointment was a "waste of her time" and that we don''t make Saturday appointments. Our first appointment was on a Saturday and here is the text of her e-mail sent a week later: "Good evening, Tim. Thank you again for stopping by last Saturday to meet with me about our project. I'd like to go ahead and see if we can't get a date on the calendar to complete Phase I (of the design process)." How would the afternoon of Monday the 25th work?"

We have a 24 hour, 7 day voice mail system and a full-time office manager to take and return phone calls during the week. She also logs every call manually when received.
