Person on fine was vey rude

After the person was late my husband was upset. We had mentioned to them several times that we needed someone that had health department experience, nobody seemed to listen to that and the person they sent did not have this experience. Could have saved a lot of time had they sent someone as requested. It is a simple construction project and we have had several quotes to just draw up plans. Their quote was 4 times higher than every other quote, $14000 just to draw up plans is absurd! I do not recommend this company.

When I called the company, I made it clear that the driveway that was to be resurfaced was on a flag lot and 4 homeowners would be involved, but that I was the only one who would be meeting with the representative. Roy was late, seemed not to be interested in doing the job, and was, I felt disrespectful: when I said that I'd already had 2 estimates and wanted a 3rd to give to the other homeowners, he said, " Why not 5?". He indicated that he would prefer to meet with all the homeowners, which I had made clear was not possible. He paced off - did not measure - the area, gave no details of what the work would entail, as had the previous contractors (all from Angie's list) and his price was more than twice the other 2 estimates. AND THEN he gave me the "song and dance" that his workers would be in the area n 2 weeks, and if we could coordinate with that, he would reduce the price. This is not the way a legitimate contractor works, as far as I'm concerned.

I met with E.Z. who is one of the owners. I told him about the condition of the garage and what I thought needed to be fixed. He thoroughly explained the steps they would take to support then remove and replace the termite damaged face and rear of the garage. He was very friendly and was an experienced professional. He gave me a good honest quote, without some of the games that other contractors play. They were able to start work soon after the contract was signed. Miguel, the head construction worker, was great. He answered all my questions and consulted me about any problems that came up.

Meetings were all VERY professional and Jonathan is definitely the type of leader you want leading a company. Although we couldn't use you guys this time around, we will definitely be hoping to use you in the future.

They were quick to take my call and sent Joseph out for the estimate on what I had explained. He walked through the house as I showed him the place for the window and the custom doors needed. He took no measurements. I even asked how he was going to remember this. Said he would get the estimate to me. He never called me or mailed me anything. I followed up with the office. They took a message but still no one ever called me with the estimate. Boggles my mind that a company would come out for a job estimate- and then never follow through!

We thought that they listened to us very well. They came up with a lot of really good ideas to try to figure out how to do what we wanted them to do within our budget. We got several estimates from other companies too and they were right in the middle. They are working on it right now. The quality of their work has been up and down. They have been messing up on a lot of stuff but they will go back to fix it. However, I don?t know why they have to mess up and then fix stuff. So it?s sort of annoying and they haven?t yet finished the work. I would probably not use their services in the future.

It went very well overall. It went longer than what we planned, but it mostly caused by mold clearance and change of job scope. Surely it had ups and downs, and Yossi, who is the service representer and job project manager, provided great deal of patient and fantastic service. He even took me to see doctor once, and it was just because I was lazy to drive ;) Surely, the trip wasn't all about seeing doctor, we went to couple of places to select tile.

They were prompt and professional and came to give us a the estimate. They didn't hassle us when setting up the appointment about our work date being a few months away.

I enthusuastically recommend LAKB. I am an attorney and had been looking for a general contractor for a long time. I was very lucky to find LAKB. I actually found them on the internet and called their number to set up an appointment. I talked to a very friendly person named Bea who set up the meeting with Tom (one of the owners of the company). He came to my house and we discussed my project. He was very mindful of my concern of not having a lot of time and my hesitation about using a contractor that was not referred to me by someone I know. Tom was very professional and he immediately earned my trust. I think what makes this company what it is is Tom. He called me every night to give me updates on how the project was going and to answer any questions I had. Actually, Tom helped me look for the bathroom fixtures, vanities, tiles, paint color, and lighting I was looking for. The works! We drove from place to place looking for what I wanted. He actually spent a good portion of the day with me. My bathrooms were remodeled to have a very modern look. Tom and his colleague Eli went out of their way to help me find what I wanted and they helped ensure that I was getting the best prices. Even after the project was finished, Tom responded quickly to minor issues that needed to be addressed. He wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied. I really think Tom and his company go above and beyond in trying to make sure that their customers are happy with their work. Customer service is what really makes them stand out. I would recommend LAKB to anyone in a heart beat. Thanks!

I am still amazed that LAKB was able to create my dream kitchen in our current house and within our budget. From the moment I met Tom, the designer, I was impressed. He was on time, friendly, had incredible ideas and great solutions in our small space, and he was willing to work with me in terms of creatively meeting my budget. Every person brought in to work on this job was on time, friendly, efficient, and skilled. If they told me something was going to happen, it happened when and how they said it would. A few times, some of the workers came to me with suggestions for minor improvements (for example, one suggested painting more of a wall than had originally been planned in order for a more seamless flow between two rooms. Another wanted to angle the tile in the window ledge above the sink to minimize splashing). Even when these improvements created more work, I was not charged more. Demolition occurred while we were out of the country. I was nervous because I could not be reached for a week. But, when we came home, everything had gone according to plan. We lived in the house while construction was going on. So, everyone took as much care as possible to minimize dust and mess. When the job was finished, Daniel stayed until 8pm to help me clean up. Even after it was time for him to leave, he helped me move furniture so I could dust and clean around it. But, for all my positive interactions with the crew, the proof is in my BEAUTIFUL kitchen. Somehow, a small galley space has been transformed into an open, roomy, modern kitchen that is a pleasure to cook in. We have beautiful new cabinets with slide out drawers and lots of storage space, miles of gorgous and functional caeserstone counters, and shiny new appliances that all work. Tom's crew also put in a white subway tile backsplash with blue glass accents that make the kitchen look truly unique and beautiful. There is counter now between the dining room and family room. It is already a gathering place for our family and friends. I can not say enough good things about LAKB, their staff and their sub-contractors. But, mostly I need to commend and thank Tom, who designed the kitchen and followed through on every step no matter how detailed to make sure that everything went smoothly.

The experience was a pleasure from start to finish. They were punctual, efficient, and did great work. The bathroom was gutted. New tile floor was laid, new toilet installed, new shower kit installed. They saved the vanity and reinstalled it. The bathroom is wonderful. They built a new fence around the studio to match existing fence around the front house on the property. Moved an exterior light from the side of the front door to above the door. Installed a window unit air conditioner that is a permanent installation, as opposed to sitting in a window and easily removed. Patched the exterior stucco when the job was complete. I would use this company again for our next remodel. They are great!!

We are very please with our new kitchen. Tom and his crew did fabulous work. Especially on the cabinet refacing. To save money we refaced instead of replaced our cabinets. They came out perfect-exactly like the photo we showed them. Tom, out contractor suggested that we install a new island in our very small kitchen. I am glad we did, it works very well as our new kitchen table and gave some additional storage space. The contractors were always on time and very clean, using plastic containment for all their work. It was a very positive experiance, i would use them again and referr them to anyone who aslked. Best of all....the work was completed exactly when they said it would be. thanks Tom

I was clueless as to what type of style I wanted to remodel my kitchen. Jonathan brought us many samples styles, and pictures that helped us decide on a perfect kitchen. It was simple and did not take long for the project to start.
