Jay Cool, the owner, met with me and clearly explained my options before starting the project. Since I was having work done over the Christmas and New Years holiday, we discussed availability and schedule. The work proceeded quickly. As each phase was completed, Jay or his office manager, Josette, contacted me to schedule the next task. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and the efficiency of Jay's crews. When there were questions or issues, the workers or Jay contacted me promptly to discuss options. They were very careful to avoid damage to other areas of the house, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each task. A few problems occurred during the project. For example, after the plumbing work was done, I couldn't get hot water elsewhere in the house because the plumber forgot to install the cartridge in the shower unit. Jay responded immediately, called me, and got someone out right away to fix the problem. I have some other projects planned, and I'll certainly call Cool's Custom!

We had an overhang attached to the outside of our house that provided covering for the walkway on the side of our house. It was collapsing from water damage and age. Our landlord approved Cools Custom's estimate to replace the overhang. They promptly came as soon as the contract was signed. They were very professional and had a crew that finished the entire job in one day. They moved everything out of the way to work and cleaned up and put everything back in place afterwards. The final job was high quality and exactly what we wanted. They matched the paint to our house exactly and the new structure is much stronger, more stable, and will last longer than our previous overhang. Even our neighbors were happy as the contractors noticed a few loose fence boards and asked our neighbors if they could repair them while they were there - the neighbors approved and our fence was fixed. They did a high quality job in a short amount of time and I would definitely hire them again.

Jay is very friendly and good to work with; he was prompt returning calls and emails. He understood our budget limitations and didn't push for more work than what we could afford. He was also patient regarding us getting approval from our HOA to do the work. His crew arrived on time, worked steadily throughout the day, and were responsive to our questions and concerns. Overall, a very good experience.

Their plumbing expert came to the house and was told I would receive a call from Jay Cool. Several weeks went by and then I finally received a call from a lady who told me my job was too small and they were too busy. I never received an estimate for what the work would have cost from them.

I didn't care for Cool's Custom. I wanted a quote for the kitchen and the bathroom and all he quoted for was the kitchen. The price was high, so with the bathroom would have been even higher. I think he didn't want to scare me with the price so he only gave me a quote for half the work.

Contacted Jay by email on June 14 and he called me within two hours. He came out June 15 showing up right on time. We told him the leak in the shower had gotten worse (we had a plumber go under the house). A number of ideas were placed on the table, but we really did not mind the layout of the bath. We did want more light so started the idea of a glass wall between the shower and tub. We had always loved glass blocks so asked about using them instead of regular glass. We knew then the plumbing would have to be moved to another wall in the shower. The tub was old but in beautiful condition as was the sink. The toilet was new having been installed about a year earlier. We wanted more light so went for a larger window. Jay said he would email us a proposal in four days, it came in three days. We read it over noted some questions which he answered in a phone call. We decided to move ahead with Cool?s for a number of reasons *Jay was on time *got the proposal to us right away *was willing to work within our budget * We could not start the project until late July do to family issues. Jay suggested we get everything ordered mentioning the window would take quite some time. Picking out tile was not something we were looking forward to but Jay met us at the store. We had picked out the color for the walls so picking out the tile was not really difficult at all. He steered us to the correct price range warning us we could pick what we wanted but it would run over our budget. Then we pick out the vanity top, we were not sure about the color but decided to trust his judgment and we are happy we did. Later that same day we ordered all the plumbing fixtures?done. A few days later we placed the order for the window. Jay called and warned us the window we picked was beautiful but over budget for the window, we decided to go with the more expensive window. We liked that he always told us when we were going over the agreed price. On July 23, the agreed date for the project to start the workers showed up. We had been given four weeks we figured five, it took six. The workers were there every day cleaned up each evening, were polite, and very professional.The part that surprised me was how much work the tile took, but its beautiful. The shower was usable at the end of week four , the door was special order which took extra time.

Once the door arrived the start to finish time to complete the job was two week. Jay and his team were very courteous and professional to work with. When I requested a change to add outlets and an exterior lights they worked with me to insure the placement of the outlets and light were where I wanted. They worked to match the paint for the interior and exterior, and when the interior paint was a touch off they painted the whole wall so the difference would not be noticed. They did an excellent job of ensuring the porch and steps matched the pebble finish of the current patio. I cannot express how impressed I was with the quality of their work as well as meeting budget and schedule. Previous contractors I have worked with rarely met schedule, but Jay was right on target. I would highly recommend Cool?s Custom and they will be my first choice for future work.

Had to demo a bathroom for a water leak. Jay was always available by phone for any questions and went above our expectations.

They are tearing out and disposing of the original fencing, tearing out an old dog compound plus installing the new fence and 5 gates. I have worked with him before and he is very customer service oriented. His price is fair and he is responsive and punctual. I will continue to use him.

We chose not to go with them but they were good. They were extremely confident and professional.

Cool's custom came out and was late and immediately started to blame me for the wrong directions as they were an hour late! Finally we met in the complex and I showed him the bathroom and kitchen and told they guy what we wanted done ---- He did not take one note or any measurements!-- It was un-real! He said he would tell someone back at the office and they would get back to me--- Never did-- I knew they wouldn't!! I don't know how they got an "A" rating but there lousy! I highly do not recommend them--- Go to Home Depot!

Jay Cool was professional and prompt in providing estimate. He worked with me to help me adjust what I wanted to stay within my budget while still having a quality project. All his work crew are excellent. They were careful to protect the surround area, and cleaned up at end of each day. They were skilled and knowledgeable craftsmen, and checked with me to make sure details were being done how I wanted. The tile work was excellent, making sure edges and patterns were done aesthetically nice as well as smoothly even. The plumbing details was especially appreciated. I now have a shower I can fit under. And Paul was great to come back and do adjustments, and Sat. work, to make sure all was working for us even while things were in-process. I am happy with my bathrooms, and would consider using Cool's Custom again.

The remodeling project generally went well and according to schedule. There were a couple of glitches in communication that caused a slight delay in the schedule. There were a few times when there was a mix up in communication between the contractor, the homeowner, and the tradesperson. These were always straightened out, but caused a slight delay or a need for a call-back. The quality of the work was excellent and the employees of the contractor were conscientious, careful and thorough. The contractor has had many years of experience and has worked with the same tradespeople over the years. The relationship that he has built with them is a valuable resource to the homeowner.

We agreed with Jay to build a concrete step from the new outside door. Upon starting it became clear that to meet code requirements the job would require 3 steps and 3x the amount of material. Jay absorbed this cost and completed the job. One of the sinks arrived damaged (due to shipping). Jay worked with us and his plumbing crew to reschedule the plumbing installation and still meet the overall timeline. Jay is easy to work with, easy to reach, great communication. He outlined the job in detail, then helped us choose the materials, then took over from there completing the work professionally, in budget and on time. I will certainly work with Jay again.

He was very persistent. He wanted the job, and he wanted to work with me. He gave me a referred vendor list. I'm wondering why I didn't go with him. The whole job changed between the different estimates I got. I think I'm going to get more bids.

Jay visited the job site and provided me with a written quote, but I ended up going with another tile contractor that gave a slightly lower quote. After learning that he had not been awarded the job, Jay wrote me a scathing email which I thought was extremely unprofessional. Among other things, he stated that it was a "courtesy" for him to visit a job site and provide a written quote. He stated that I was "rude" because I was not able to be there when he dropped by. (Both my wife and the general contractor were in the house at the time, however.) He also advised me that I was being unscrupulous for not accepting the bid for the tile work that the general contractor had provided. I suppose that we're all entitled to our opinions and views, but Jay chose not to handle this situation in a professional manner. Who knows, maybe I would have come back to him for some work in the future, but as it is, he has permanently burned his bridges with me.

Jay was easy to work with. Communication was easy and his various sub-contractors and crew were excellent too. I would recommend him and use him again if needed.

They did a great job and I would hire them again.

Generally positive. I recommended them to my neighbor's who did end up using the company. There were some problems that came up during the project and it did not go as smoothly as I had wanted, but in spite of that I would still recommend them to others today.

I had found Cools Custom on Service Magic website and called them in for an initial estimate. Jay Cool, the owner called me right away and instructed me to contact my insurance to get the claim going. He was very polite and very informative and offered to deal with the insurance company for me. Once the claim has been processed Jay has negotiated an even better pay out for me to repair my water damaged kitchen up to code. He contacted my insurance adjuster and handled her for me. Jay works with amazing professionals that made my kitchen and bathroom into the state of the art facilities! Each major area (tile floor, granite countertop, custom cabinets, electrical) was handled by a licensed professional who provided an amazing quality service and went out of their way to please us. Anytime we had questions, or needed suggestions on the design or better way of doing something, Jay was always there for us. He went out of his way to accommodate our needs and delivered a lot more than what he originally agreed for. The entire project proceeded extremely efficiently. From the first phone call to the drawings to final installation, it couldn't have more smoothly. Jay was very responsive to our needs and made sure everything was done to our utmost satisfaction. Jay delivered what he promised and more! I can't thank Jay and the rest of the crew for their great work. When we are ready to do more work on our house we will definitely give Jay a call.
