Ted and his team were incredibly responsive from the first contact on Angie's List. They gave us a fair bid and ended up doing many small items as part of the bid. They were very responsive over email to changes we made even at the last minute. The work was done as scheduled. Ted and his team were very easy to talk to and explained every step along a long total rewire project. We were able to make changes in location for fixtures as we went along and added a couple fans and some other items. They are helping with some additional items that we had to delay because other house projects required postponement (bathroom mirror needs to be installed before final outlets can be completed, etc) They have been very respectful in working through our schedule. Very good value. Highly recommend.

I am truly please with the quality or work done by Apollo and their efficiency. Ted and Danny who did the work were very professional. They also left the work area clean at the end of the day. Ted also discovered some issues with our breaker panel and he took the initiative and fixed the issue. If you hire Apollo you will be making a good decision. Apollo will not try to sell you unnecessary items.
Description of Work: Ran new wires into the kitchen with new circuits and breakers four of them on the walls and two below the kitchen sink. Ran ground wire to additional outlets. Installed ceiling fans in four rooms and an attic fan.

Excellent! Like clockwork. Ted's work was coordinated with the demolition, and the drywall seamlessly.
Description of Work: Ted removed my knob and tube wiring, my recalled breaker box and installed completely new electrical. His workmanship is top notch without cutting corners. I would not hesitate to recommend to my best friend and family. Thank you Ted. We will be working with you again.

Ted is a great guy and very pleasant to work with.....a "no foolin' around" type of guy. I'd hire him again in a New York minute.
Description of Work: We had a dead circuit in the house not caused by a tripped circuit breaker. Ted traced out the fault to a corroded wire in one of interior outlets in just a few minutes. He installed a new weatherproof outlet box and completed the fix in less than an hour.

I'm the president of a tiny homeowner's association with extensive DIY experience in building, remodeling, and fixing things in multiple trades. So to save money for our HOA I work directly with vendors to get the work done. This has been a year long project involving, plumbers, painters, electricians, masons, carpenters, landscapers, landscape architects, asphalt contractors, and more. Since I am just one man (and not paid for my efforts) I wanted many bids and I want to be sure every vendor works off the same spec - apples to apples of course. I created a video showing the job site, the work needing to be done, and a clear description of the ask and posted it to YouTube and contacted a dozen or so electricians. After bidding out to over a dozen of Angie's list electricians, most of whom realized that I knew a enough about electricity that they couldn't b******* me about the complexity of the job, possible issues, materials costs, etc. Ted of Apollo Electric responded within 12 hours with a concise, accurate, and reasonable quote. He seemed to know what he was talking about, wasn't trying to squeeze more money out of me, and was realistic about his schedule and, most importantly, was willing to commit to a specific date, time, and price to complete the job. More on that later. Sidebar: After dealing with these dozen electricrian's and other contractors Apollo was a refreshing experience. What is it about electricians (plumbers too it seems, well just about any contractor frankly)? They want to leave the price, scope of the job, and everything else open ended so they (it seems to me the humble consumer) can take me to the cleaners once they have the job half-completed and I have no choice but to pay them. Who do they think they are? Software engineers or something? Sadly, in some cases I'm talking about friends I've know for decades, licensed contractors from my church that I couldn't nail down on a price or date. It is unconscionable. ? end of rant Ted and Daniello of Apollo were fantastic. Professional, courteous, easy to work with and flexible and completed what most of the the others said would be 1 to 2 days of work in about 4 hours. Ted is intelligent, honest, and had all the tools and knowledge about codes and requirements that as an HOA we can't afford to have mistakes made since the liability is not just one homeowner but more than a dozen. We also needed the the work done urgently because the lack of commitment on the part of other electricians (many bailing out at the last minute presumably because they got better paying jobs) meant our landscapers ground to a halt to finish their work. So he set the date for June 1st, but was willing if time permitted to do it on Memorial day. I offered a modest bonus if they would get it done on the holiday. They called me that Monday and they accomodated me having to scramble to prepare things for them to get the job done. So, I highly recommend Apollo Electric for your electrical needs. They are not cheap but not over-priced either. But speaking from experience the odds of you getting the cheapeast price and the best work is really, really, slim these days. Most guys don't care about their integrity, quality of work, or their reputation. Apollo Electric is a refreshing exception to this trend. We will be using them for all of our electrical work in the future as an HOA, and I intend to use them for some work on my house this summer as well that I could probably do myself, but I was so imporesed with Ted and his crew that it is worth it to me to just delegate the work and know that it will be done right.
Description of Work: Removed old post lighting in our Townhouse complex and wired up 3 new lamps and posts in new locations, performaing all new underground wiring based off an exisitng branch circuit. Did it on a national holiday too!

He did a good job, was professional and timely. He arrived on time for a pre-appointment to see the lamp and location where I wanted it. The lamp was custom-made for this and not delicate but obviously something to treat with respect. He did so and understood right away to take care.

The oven of my old electric range bit the dust, so I ordered a new Kenmore range from Sears. After waiting almost 2 long weeks for the delivery date, I was looking forward to being able to cook properly again. However, when the range arrived, I had an unhappy surprise- the old range was hardwired into the wall, so they could neither remove the old one, nor install the new one. I was told I would need electrician to sort it out before they could do anything further. Sears left the new appliance in the garage, saying to call once the electric work had been completed. I was tearing out my hair, just anticipating how long it would take to get an electrician to do the job, and had no idea who to call. I had been meaning to have some minor electrical repairs done, but being busy like everyone else, I had put it off. Now I was in a crunch, and I did not have anyone I knew to call. So, I went on Angie's list and tried calling Apollo Electric. I was amazed that my call was answered right away (by an actual human, not a machine), and even more amazed when he said he would come over in about an hour. Right on time, Ted Bakelis came over and evaluated the situation. It turned out that my old oven was not only hardwired into the wall but the circuit was only 30 amps, not the minimum required 40 amps. This did not faze Ted, who promptly went out to get the new materials required while his assistant carried on with the preparation. In a fairly short period of time, I had exactly what I needed for my new oven. To top it all off, Ted and his assistant dragged the new range into my kitchen and set it up, so I could actually cook that night! This was completely above and beyond the call of duty, and I am so grateful. He's a great guy, and he really came through when I was in a pinch. I have been compiling a wish list of house tasks require anelectrician, and I definitely will be calling Ted of Apollo Eectric to help me out. Completely satisfied! That's a rare thing, these days. Thanks Ted, and thanks Angie's List.
Description of Work: Installed a new electric circuit and wiring for a new oven. Went above and beyond the call of duty by coming on the very day of my calling for help, and even helped move the oven into the kitchen so I could cook that day. Apollo electric ( Ted Bakelis) saved the day!

This is a 2 man shop. And they are busy. That being said, I was lucky and able to get them out for a quote within a few days of calling them .We got the proposal a day later and once we finalized what the tasks would be and revised the proposal we were then able to schedule for the following week. They arrived about 8am and got right to work. We had cleared the areas where they would be working and that helped to speed it along. I had to admire how well all the cables and wires were dressed, a sure sign of pride in workmanship that I can admire. Between working in the garage, kitchen, and crawling under the house it went quickly. All areas were cleaned up and they were done by 3:30pm. Note: payment is by check or cash, no charge cards taken. I would not hesitate to use them in the future. They were not the cheapest bid but were still very reasonable and you do get what you pay for.
Description of Work: I had several electrical tasks completed by Ted & his co-worker. They included work on the electrical panel, adding outlets to the garage and the kitchen.

Ted arrived when he said he would. He and his apprentice were friendly and professional and explained the work that needed to be done and the time involved. When the job was finished, my house was in good condition. I plan to hire Apollo Electric again for future home improvements. The only reason I gave a rating of "B" for price is due to the cost of services in the Bay Area in general as opposed to other areas (Southern CA). Other estimates for the same job were higher than Apollo Electric.

It seems odd to write an Angie's List review on the basis of a single phone inquiry with the contractor, but in this case I thought it was warranted. I called Ted this morning to explain what we needed done. He was friendly and knowledgeable in talking me through several options, including some "if you want to try to do it yourself." He patiently discussed the challenges, risks, and relative costs of each option. Not a hint of pushiness or arrogance or impatience -- not a hint. When I finally asked when he might be able to come check out the problem in person, he said he thought he'd be able to fit me in after lunch the same day (today). I can't speak to the cost of service or quality of workmanship at this point, but his customer service and his knowledge and professionalism stand out to me already.

Ted was great! We just purchased a home built in the 50's and needed some grounded outlets for our entertainment system and refrigerator. We have plans of updating the whole house in future months but needed some grounded outlets until we save money enough to reno the place. He listened to what we wanted and was made the appropriate suggestions. He made sure that when we upgrade the panel we will have enough slack so that we don't have to re-run the wire what he just put in. He didn't try and up-sell us, just helped with what we needed. We will definitely be contracting him for our electrical needs in the future!

I called the company after receiving what was a very high quote from another Angie's list electrician for this work. Ted answered the phone from another job and offered to come out to our house to provide a free estimate that same day. He arrived within the next couple of hours and provided a verbal quote that was more than 50% lower than the quote from the other electrician. Later that evening he sent a written quote by email that was yet another $50 lower. He offered to come out to do the work in two days as he had an opening in his schedule. Ted and his cousin Telli arrived exactly at the time he promised (9am) and they completed the work by the early afternoon. They were courteous and informative and did a fabulous job, even adding in a conduit into the panel for connecting the Solar Panel inverters that are being installed this week. I highly recommend Apollo to anyone in need of electrical work. We definitely plan to call Ted for any and all future electrical work as we continue our renovations.

Unlike several of the other electricians I called, Ted with Apollo Electric called me right back almost immediately. I quickly explained what I needed and he said he'd stop by that evening. Once he understood the scope, he knew how much time it would take and that he could fit me into his schedule. He gave me a quote and a start day later that same week. On the start day they showed up when they said they would and went right to work. They cleaned everything up at the end of the day and were ready to pull wire the next morning. When I looked the work over that evening it was very neat and cleanly done and the wire pull went without a hitch the next morning. When the city came for my electrical rough inspection later the next week they found no issues with the conduit and commented that it was well strapped and routed. I was very pleased with the work.
Description of Work: Ran EPVC conduit from the main service panel to a garage sub panel and pulled a new 100A feeder circuit in the conduit to the sub panel
