We were happy to respond to the homeowners needs. We assessed the patio cover and found that there was more deterioration than we first thought. We brought it to the attention of the homeowner and made the necessary repairs. This added a little to the final price, but it was done right and will last for another 20 plus years. Thanks again for the opportunity.

David Pfizenmeier owner of "I''ll Handle It" as proven once again to be a great Angie's List provider; the name of this business is very accurate because David does indeed handle home's upkeep professionally and well. He installed a large ceiling fan by himself correctly, at a most competitive cost, and in less than an hour, I was impressed. I have used "I'll Handle It" earlier in the summer for a partial remodel and David was easy to talk to and did more than he was asked to do, which is uncommon nowadays. I am delighted to have found "I'll Handle It"on Angie's List and continue to recommend David's services to other home owners.

He forgot our appointment and that's a huge problem for me. I figure if someone can't keep an appointment schedule, it reflects on how they run their business. I called him and he did come right over. We discussed the work and he was friendly and professional, but I just wasn't up to paying his price as I do have a friend who agreed to do it.
Description of Work: I needed my back door trim replaced and painted and water diverting flashing installed. I think his price was a little high and ended up having a friend do the work

We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience that may have been caused by the appointment being missed. We were glad that our customer was understanding and flexible enough to allow us to come by and assess the project. We are always eager to get any feedback that anyone has so that we can improve the level of service that we provide. However, any generalizations about how we run our business based on this scenario are completely unjustified, just read all of our "A" reviews. In addition to that, the scope of the work necessary to complete this job correctly, justified this price. Thank you.

The first visit involved repairing the gate, which had broken and fallen off. They removed and replaced the boards, sanded down the entire gate and support posts and restained with several coats as well as a sealant. Then reinstalled the gate and added a latch. Additinoally, they sanded, stained and applied a latch to a second gate. Then they sanded down two garage doors and restained and coated. One week later they returned to finish the job, checking out the previous work and performing any touchups needed. On the second visit, they removed the French doors, sealed the entrance and sanded down the frame and doors. Then they restained all the wood with several coats and applied a sealant. After completion they reinstalled the doors. The workmanship was excellent and all looked new. I was completely satisfied. Dave was professional and prompt. He provided me continuous updates on progress and took the time to show me the work in progress. I intend to use them again for future projects and have recommended him to friends.

d . David and his nephew Kenny did an excellent job at remodeling parts of our rental unit. They removed the old counter top, sink and faucet. Removed and relocated the 24" cabinet next to the fridge. Re-positioned the remaining 12" cabinet next to the panty and filled the empty space with fill stock. After Home Depot sub-contractors installed 26 sq. feet of granite countertop and one undermounted sink purchased by owners, David installed an 18"dishwasher, a faucet and disposer with all the plumbing needed for proper drain connections and modifications.. David made necessary vent connections for a new kitchen hood; installed new ceiling fan in dining room, and Kenny did an excellent job painting four porch entrances to our duplex. David did several extra tasks that had not been foreseen but he did them anyway as a true professional who loves what he does and takes justified pride in his work. I am looking forward to working with him in future projects, and with his very simpatico nephew Kenny.

I made an appointment with Dave. Showed up on time. Looked the project over and said "I'll handle it". He looked at my base moldings and told me that the moldings were all poplar wood and very expensive. Suggested that for the small area we needed to do we could use mdf instead. It was to be behind furniture so sounded good to me. He told me he was a little jammed at the time. I said I was trying to get things done before I moved in. He said he would fit me in. I gave him my garage code and he knocked it out without me even being there.Cabinet gone, molding looks perfect. I would have used Dave for paint and recessed lighting, but that was a bigger project and timing wasn't good. While we were talking, he noticed that my garbage disposal wasn't working. He grabbed a tool and fixed it without me asking him to....sweet. Dave's a super nice guy and very talented. I would certainly use his services again. Need a handyman...Call Dave. He'll Handle it!
Description of Work: I just bought a new home and hadn't moved in yet. Needed a large built in wall cabinet removed. Also had to add more base moulding and chair moulding where the cabinet was.

I left a voice mail very briefly describing my problem and stated that I needed to have someone take care of my job today. Dave returned the call promptly. He said he was in the neighborhood and would be to my home within an hour. That was actually a half-hour when he arrived. He quickly assessed the problem, gave me some options and set about doing the work. I can now get into my shower and more importantly, get out of my shower.

It was our pleasure to assist a homeowner in need. We are full service home improvement professionals.
My wife and I have owned a rental property for many years that had been constantly rented but after the last tenant, was in desperate need of upgrades and repairs. The major problem we faced was how to coordinate the work done in San Diego when we lived in Colorado? I made a short trip to San Diego to interview numerous vendors and contractors and pick out basic designs. After interviewing numerous vendors we settled on Dave at I'll Handle It to manage the bulk of the repairs and upgrades. All I can say is Wow! What a great experience! We could not have been happier with the quality of the work, the price, and the professionalism that we found with I'll Handle it. Dave definitely named his company appropriately and stands by it. Everything went smoothly. I observed the entire process remotely from Colorado and Dave sent me pictures throughout the project. When I finally made the trip to San Diego to do the final inspection, my expectations were exceeded by the quality of the work and how well everything turned out. I was able to rent the unit to the first tenant that saw the property. It was the perfect tenant for the property, and we are very pleased with the entire experience. I don't think we could have selected a better guy to do the job. I will definitely use Dave in the future for any repairs or upgrades.

When I first contacted David he said he was super busy and that he wasn't able to come and give me an estimate until about a week later. I said I understood and so we set an up an appointment for the following Tuesday. He was 10 minutes early which was fine. We went over what I wanted, and he gave some of his input, which were good ideas, and David said he would give me an estimate by the weekend. The following Tuesday after that, there was no estimate in my email from him so I called him. When he answered he said he apologized for the delay but he?s been very busy and that he would get me an estimate in the next couple of days. The weekend came and went and the NEXT Tuesday, I called David to see what happened to the estimate because maybe he just had the wrong email address. David never picked up so I left a voice message. He NEVER returned my call?and I?m still waiting?its been over a month and a half!!! I'm bummed because he had such high reviews and I wanted to get a chance to see his work...

He was really friendly and I liked him upfront. He came around and looked at all the stuff I needed to get done. He gave me a price for each thing. He said that if he couldn't fix it then I wouldn't be charged for it. The stuff he did do was fine and he told me why he couldn't do the things he didn't do. He sent me an invoice of everything he was going to do but I didn't look at it closely. There were a few things that he didn't put on the list and so he didn't do those things and I didn't notice they were not on the list. When he was ready to leave I asked about those things and that obviously was on my part. It seemed that they should have been on the list when I had talked to him in the first place. It was an overlook on my part but he still missed at least two things. There were a couple of things he couldn't do and he told me why. I didn't feel that his pricing was quite right because I was still charged about the same and he didn't do a few things. It was disappointing at the end of the day because I thought all of these things were going to be fixed but there were still things that didn't get done. Also I had just had my floors redone in a room and there was a scratch on the floor when he left so I had to have the floor redone. I did not call him back and complain about it. I was happy with the stuff he did do.

I called him, he came out earlier than he first thought he could, calling first to see if it was OK with me. He gave me a ballpark estimate of $100 and came in $20 less than that even though he had to go to Home Depot to get some parts when our quick fix on the gate just wasn't going to do it. It went as well as one would hope. Responsive, prompt, courteous, professional. I would have appreciated a more accurate estimate of the costs but the tasks were rather open ended so that may be the reason I didn't get an estimate ahead of time. Dave came out, looked at our jobs, found other possible trouble spots. He and his partner enthusiastically took on anything I asked and let us know what they could not fix (lemon oven door- don't buy KitchenAid appliances!). We will continue to use him for our handy man needs!
Description of Work: 1. Reset mailbox with pressure treated lumber in concrete. Built new primed plywood platform. 2. Installed TOTO toilet flapper and filler valve in front bathroom. 3. Installed new door bell with new brass lighted button. 4. Re attached Douglas fir door casing in bedroom entry. 5. Repaired all loose door handles. 6. Ordered and install new master bedroom french door top flush bolt (Special Order) 7. Repaired kitchen door. 8. Re attached loose exterior window frame material, primed, caulked and painted. 9. Ordered and installed new window hardware in front entry. 10. Repaired undercabinet puck lighting. 11. Removed and replaced closet light in master bedroom. 12. Attempted to repair oven door. No luck. After receiving Dave's info on Angie's list, we called; he came over to give us an estimate the next day. He was extremely courteous and personable. He is a hard worker and takes pride in his work. Additionally he seems to be a very nice guy and was a pleasure to work with.

I found I'll Handle It on Angie's List. I was in a bind and only had 2 days to ready the home for a new tenant. I called Dave at 7:30 a.m. and asked if someone was available that day or the next for a few repairs. Dave sent Keith over the same day. Keith spent about 3 1/2 hours doing recaulking in the kitchen, master shower, guest bath and laundry room. He repaired a drawer in the master closet. He repaired a built in organizing unit in another closet, and gave recommendations on our old water heater. He was professional, efficient, his work was great AND HE LEFT NO MESS. Dave called me that night to ask if I was pleased with the work, and of course I was. They will be my go-to-guys from now on! I recommended them to my tenant who needs help in hooking up his dryer. And when I remodel the kitchen, I will consider obtaining a bid for them.

These guys are pleasant while at the same time being extremely professional. Their work is high quality and from the time they got to the house, they were singularly focused on getting the job done. They had no problem asking us for clarification if they weren't sure what we wanted. I would give ILLHANDLEIT my STRONGEST recommendation to anyone who is looking to complete any type of odd jobs around the house!! Dave's price was more than reasonable and I certainly plan on using him again as new things arise!
Description of Work: Dave (the owner) and his assistant Keith did a number of miscellaneous jobs around our house. I contacted Dave after reading the stellar reviews on Angie's List. I sent him a list of items that needed to be fixed and he promptly responded with an estimate. We scheduled the work and he came on the day he promised and completed most items on the list. I did not originally plan on having most of the condo repainted, but that is what was needed, so Dave scheduled a return visit with his assistant to paint the walls, doors and trim. He hung some ceiling fans and light fixtures, fixed a faucet and replaced shower diverters, planed the doors that were sticking and patched cracks and holes in the walls. He even worked over a weekend to get this job finished as quickly as possible. Dave did a superb job and I would definitely recommend him for any handyman task.

He went from one task to the next without lagging or wasting any time. He demonstrated a good workable knowledge of all the projects I needed him to do. He was also able to give me estimates on potential future projects. I was very satisfied with his work and his professionalism and plan on using his services again in the future.

Sometimes things appear so much simpler than they turn out to be. We needed a new stove for our leased townhouse. The retiring unit, a once proud Jenn Aire, was showing increasing signs of its impending demise and our property manager assigned me the task of selecting its replacement. This I did, arrangements were made and the guys from Home Depot came by to pull the old one and replace with the new. Except that they couldn't. It seems that the Jenn Aire had a downward vent and the new stove (like virtually all others manufactured, it seemed) had an upward one. This meant that the old vent had to be closed off, along with other issues that could be addressed at another time. We found Dave's business on Angie's List and Dave came over for a look see one evening. He listened to our concerns, answered our questions and told us what he could do. He made an excellent first impression, arriving on time, neat and clean. And so our manager hired him and then the wait began. Dave would give us a date, but the HOA, as most homeowners' associations, had to examine and okay everything. Originally, the plans were to include some outside work and so we had to get their approval and dance around their meeting dates. Finally, they did give their approval and Dave came over to do the work shortly before the new stove delivery. He came right on time, did the patching and discussed doing some future work on the above stove microwave. He said it was entirely our option, more of a nicety not a safety nor code issue. No pushing here. His repair work was done neatly and quickly. The garage refrigerator was also addressed, once again pressing into service the ice water dispenser which an appliance repairman told us would be difficult to fix. I don't know the cost of the patching, since the manager is responsible for it. The fridge line repair was $25 and worth every cent. Again, tidy and careful work.Dave came with his friend Keith who helped with examining the microwave and pulling out the stove. He is also a pleasant, knowledgeable person. Dave is very much the kind of professional you want repairing and contracting. I was a Nervous Nellie about the whole thing, mostly because the time from purchasing the new stove to its ultimate installment took several months. I kept waiting for the next problem to arise (not from Dave, but from HOA delays). He told me to let him worry about things, in a very nice way! We have recommended him to our manager for future projects, and would certainly hire him again for our needs. He has a heavy schedule, but the end result is worth the wait.
Description of Work: We were expecting a new range and had to close off a downdraft connection from our old one. We a;so needed a new connection for a refrigerator ice maker.
