Jeff did a very good job, he was quick, clean and thorough. He not only wired the switch box, he worked with me on the proper procedure to start generator, switching to generator use in a safe manner. I greatly appreciated his advice.

He completed all of the above items and even offered to install a home entertainment shelving unit in my master bedroom. That was a huge help to me! He is a very knowledgable, friendly and honest person. I would recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: Jeff, the owner performed all of the electrical items I had on my list including a few others. He replaced an exterior lighting fixture, fixed the interior vanity lights in the bathroom, installed a timer in my electrical outlet for the front porch, replaced receptacles and relocated an outlet for our home entertainment system in the master bedroom.

 + -1 moreJeff had an idea of the problem we were having before he arrived. He had asked me to take a pic of the electrical panel and send it to him. He arrived on time and proceeded to tell me that my panel was o.k. but some of the boxes were mis-marked. I did have 1 220 breaker that needed changing. He then went to the kitchen and found that the electricians who had done our kitchen remodel had put all the outlets on 1 line! If we tried using both sides of our island, the breaker would pop. He changed it so we could use 1 side of the island and another wall outlet could be used in the kitchen. We then had him update 16 of our outlets to match the rest. We paid an extra $125 for materials and extra time needed.
Description of Work: Jeff from Dwelling Electric came out, inspected my electrical panel, replaced a 220 breaker and moved an outlet line so all of our outlets in the kitchen weren't on the same line. He also updated 16 outlets around the house.

 + 1 moreMy wife and I purchased the Angie's List Deal - $499 electrician for the day. Jeff arrived on time and was very courteous and polite. He started with the bigger items and worked his way down to the smaller ones. Jeff was very professional, cleaning up after each project as he went. He used plastic drop cloths to keep the floors clean. Jeff did not just do the minimum work required, but went above and beyond. We were very happy with his work and plan on hiring him again. Jeff is an example of why we joined Angie's List in the first place. Although there is a wait for an appointment, it is worth the wait!
Description of Work: Replaced old, loud bathroom fan. Installed ceiling fan in bedroom. Replaced 3 smoke alarms. Replaced 3 outside lights with motion sensor models. Installed new outlet. Installed new light in garage.

 + 0 moreWe have 2 ceiling fans in separate rooms that had synced to the same remote. We contacted Minka (the mfg.) and got the technical information on what was required to solve the problem. Our service person provided consultation that solved some in-home issues regarding the solution. The issue was resolved and we haven't had to use the switches again - yet. Remotes are now functioning properly. My concern was regarding communication in setting up the appointment. It was NOT good. It was hard to reach a live person and messages were not always returned in a reasonable amount of time. The lady said she has another job. Is this a reason for not doing this one well?? She was polite and friendly when we did talk.
Description of Work: He installed 2 switches for overhead fans. There were some strange issues and he provided good consultation that seems to have solved the problem and made it less expensive than quoted.

 + -1 moreCannot comment on their actual service, but if you're buying the electrician for a day package expect a 6 week delay in getting someone out to you. Seems a bit ridiculous, six week wait? They were friendly and advised me how to obtain a refund.

 + -1 moreDwelling did an incredible job, and was very quick. You might think if they knew we had them for four hours they'd work slow. Not Jeff. He banged the jobs our quickly and thoroughly. Attic work is the pits (one of the reasons I didn't wait until summer) but he pulled about 12 ethernet homeruns in an hour (and that was with me planning as we went). I absolutely, without reservation, recommend Dwelling Electric. I will be using them again in the future.

 + -1 moreWe purchased a 4 hour electrical coupon for 248.00 which covered the installation of two bathroom exhaust fans we provided with Jeff's helpful suggestions regarding CMF's and sones (noise level). In addition to the coupon we hired Jeff to update and replace some existing outlets and switches at an hourly rate that was very reasonable. He completed all work in approximately 7+ hours. We thought Jeff was personable and knowledgeable. His assistant that handles incoming calls was very courteous, efficient and answered my general questions patiently. Jeff returned call(s) quickly and took time to understand the scope of work we were looking to have done. He arrived within his 3 hour window and he had a bit of a distance to drive. After reviewing the job, Jeff went straight to work. He prepared the area and kept the work area for the exhaust fans screened off with plastic. There was a small glitch with a needed additional adaptor section and my husband attempted to dash out and purchase the item, to no avail. Jeff picked up the section on his lunch break and the rest of the install went smoothly. Replacement of the receptacles took a bit of troubleshooting on Jeff's part. He solved the stripped screws dilemma and completed the replacements we requested. He also replaced one worn out exterior outlet. We are pleased with the service he provided, his expertise and overall customer service. We intend to hire him again for some additional work.
Description of Work: Installed two bathroom exhaust fans and replaced approximately 10 outlet receptacles and 6 switches.

He was concerned about having to cut into the dry wall in a few places, trying to reduce the number of cuts. He found the issue which as a cut wire that had occurred during the building of the house and he replaced it quickly. He also assisted me in two other minor issues as well since he was so quick. Jeff will be my ONLY option for all future electrical needs!

He showed up on time did the work I wanted done within the time allotted on the groupon. he also provided the parts needed at a very reasonable price. I know because I live at home depot and am familiar with the cost of what he used. the work was completed and he was very accommodating about what I did and didn't want done. when finished he had some time left so he even patched areas so they would be ready for paint. very professional and accommodating. I would definitely use him again because I would trust that he wasn't taking advantage of me and that's very important to me.

This is the third time we have had him in our home for either repairs or installation of lighting. We will continue to use his services, as needed. He is very good at what he does and as a result there can be a wait time for him to work you into his schedule, due to the demands of his services by other customers. This did not bother us as we would prefer to wait, if the needs allow, in order to have good professional service in our home by someone we trust.
Description of Work: We had a total of 5 recessives lights installed into our entrance hall and hall way of our home; as well as one more out door light fixture. We had Jeff out the month before to repair a blown circuit breaker and install a new plug outlet.
