First of all, I have reviewed many companies on Angie's List and most reviews have been positive. I hope this negative review will serve as a warning to potential purchasers to not waste over $11,000 as we did on inferior carpeting. On 5/23/2017 we purchased wall-to-wall carpeting for the house from Marsh's Carpet (8375 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95758 916-714-8562) for $11,017.92. The carpet started wearing badly in the living room and we had it cleaned by Zerorez on 3/24/18. The carpet did not look any better, and Marsh's Carpet put a patch in the carpet on 4/9/18. The patch is obvious and we cannot sell our house with a patched carpet in the living room. The carpet also has stains that we are unable to remove with over-the-counter cleaners. Marsh's Carpet sent over an inspector who said the warranty does not cover the carpet, because the tears at the seams and the holes in the carpet were caused by Zerorez, and the stains could be removed by a licensed professional. We are stuck with a living room and hallway carpet that 15 months after purchase is patched and worn and has stains that we are unable to remove. Marsh's carpet refused to make any accommodation. In our complaint to the Better Business Bureau we asked that the living room and hallway carpet be replaced by Marsh's Carpet at their expense because we are unable to sell the house with a 15-month old carpet that is patched, worn, and stained. Zerorez is a nationwide company and a normal cleaning should not result in large holes in a ten-month-old carpet. The BBB was unable to help, and now we will have to replace the carpeting ourselves and take Marsh's Carpet to small claims court. I regret ever having done business with this company and will never buy anything from them again.

After searching for a good laminate and good store (visited ~12+ stores and 2 home shows) we got three quotes from different companies. Two quotes were similar: Marsh's Carpet (Rancho Cordova, $5k+) and the Floor Store (Rancho Cordova, $5k+); while one quote was significantly higher: S and G Carpets (Rancho Cordova, $9k+). We selected Marsh's Carpet as they offered helpful advice, seemed to truly understand their product and had an old-fashioned approach to business.
We scheduled the install date well within 2 weeks of deciding; $1,000 deposit required. We removed the pedestal sink ourselves and moved antiques and fine items out of the way in advance. The crew of 5 men arrived by 8:15 am and began removing baseboards, moving furniture and chipping out the entry tile (lots of dust). They were done by 4:30 that day - they would have completed earlier, but initially, they did not understand they were to replace the toilet. Since any flooring store cannot be responsible for installing used carpet (saved from the carpet removal to replace worn stair carpeting), Marsh's referred and quot;the joband quot; to one of their off-duty crews. This crew of two, took about 2.5 hours to complete the carpet replacement on the stairs (included in overall cost above, but was $32 for new padding and $175 for labor).
Floor looks great. We were concerned that the original baseboards would look beat up - they look fine.

They were great people. They were a good company. They were pretty responsive. They came out and did the walk. They were very organized. I would recommend them. I didn't shop around for prices. The quality was good. They were above average.

THE SALESMEN AT THE STORE WERE AWESOME. I WENT IN THERE SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY WERE INFORMATIVE, COURTEOUS AND REASSURING. THE INSTALLATION WAS BY THEIR OWN SUB CONTRACTOR AND IT WENT WELL. THE CARPET STILL LOOKS GREAT. I HAD TO HAVE THEM RETURN THE SAME WEEK BECAUSE THE CARPET WAS NOT FLUSH WITH THE TILE IN THE BATHROOMS. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS TO THIS DAY WITH OCCASIONALLY STEPPING ON CARPET TACKS ON THE STAIRS. I DIDN'T GET THE HIGH GRADE CARPET PAD BECAUSE THEY REASSURED ME THAT IT WOULDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE BUT NEXT TIME I WILL SO I WON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH CARPET TACKS. OVERALL I AM VERY SATISFIED. AND WOULD RECOMMEND MARSH'S CARPET IN ELK GROVE EVERY TIME. I ALSO PURCHASED AN AREA RUG FOR A GREAT PRICE.

Mike was very helpful in selecting the right floor for us, he gave us good info about quality and the differences in the various brands and styles. We confirmed the order on the day we closed on our house and Mike scheduled the install for a week later. The installers actaully came a day early to remove the old carpets and prep the floor which put them a day ahead of schdule which was great for us. The finish was very good, the floors look amazing and the quality of the work is high even in areas like the closets and pantry where it's finicky to get it right and also less visible.
A couple of small gripes - the installers removed the door stops and did not replace them (or mention it to us) so we dented the wall with the door handle before we realized what had happened. Also they did clean up after themselves both days but there was some mess and dust left behind some doors when they had finished.
Overall very good and high quality for the price, I would use them again.

They had a good selection of remnants, organized in a way it was easy to tell which ones would be large enough for my room. Installation was easy to schedule and installers arrived on time and worked quickly. I particularily appreciated how easy they were to work with. They advised that I could leave the carpet there until I was ready for installation and advised that if decided later on a different remnant, I could change my selection. They gave me a really good price to install the new baseboard and good advice about saving money by purchasing and painting it ahead of time myself.

Overall, very well. Justin the owner's young son was our contact person. He ordered samples in for us and arranged for free estimate and measurement at our new home. Carpet was ordered 2-3 weeks in advance. They had slightly under calculated but compensated and paid for the extra. Carpet was laid pretty well. There were slight imperfection (loop threads) that was brought to their attention and they came back following day and fixed it.
