Fast Water Heater Company

This was a list Big Deal installation of a new water heater for $899. I was not expecting the $537 of additional charges but they sounded reasonable in light of SF's building codes. Vendor arrived on time and installed the water heater heater in a professional manner.

I purchased the Angie's List special deal and followed the instructions and called for an appointment. Appointment was scheduled the next day and technician arrived on-time with the new water heater as promised and he even suggested some helpful tips. I was very happy with the quick delivery and excellent service.

Well, let me start out by saying the Tech Robert was outstanding. The company gave me a window of between 0800 and 1400, and i have too admit i thought with my luck he will call at 1400. Well, thank god he called at 0940 and said he would be there in 20 min's. And 20 min's later, there he was. His truck was clean, and looked too be well maintained. and as for Robert, the Tech he was slim, hair well combed, and clean shaven and in a Clean uniform. Very impressed right off the bat, he came in and looked over the heater and said look's good and no big deal. Well, he got more then he bargained for, when he unscrewed the water line into the tank, after shutting off the water value coming out of the wall the water kept running :O(.But no big deal for Robert, he went out too the street and turned off the main line. Well, only God know's why, but the water kept running. Robert said this was a first for him, but no big deal.He just left the old line on and directed it into the drain. So, he then did everything too get set too switch out the old heater for the new heater. Then he put the New Heater in, hooked up everything else, and last the running water connection perfectly. With only a few drop's of water on the tank, easily wiped up, smooth as silk and perfectly done. I could tell, that even though this was a problem he never ran into before, he handled it without missing a beat. I could tell, this wasn't his first Water Heater Installation. Then he went over all the other options that he could do too the water heater, and what it would "Cost". Very Honest, Very Upfront, and Very Professional. I declined, and it was no "Big" deal, he did not try too "Pressure" me into purchasing any of these option's. And did not bring it up again, such as a New Car Dealer would do. Again, Very Professional, so he did what he had too do too get the Heater working, waited and checked it and it was working Perfectly. So too end, he cleaned up, checked the Heater for one final time and then went over all the paperwork. He was very clear and very exact, and i had no question's about any of the paperwork.So we finished up, i thanked him for coming out so early and for being so "Fast" and "Professional" at the Installation and shook his hand and said Good bye. So, over all i would give Robert and "Fast Water Heating Company an (A Plus) rating. And believe me i did my research, as much as i could. The reason i say that is, the reason i replaced the unit is because # 1 it started leaking and # 2 it was "15" year's old. And like i told Robert, i got MORE then my money's worth out of that old unit. Because as I've been told, the average unit only last's 8-12 years. So getting back too the point, i researched the "Chain" outlet's on what a Heater would cost, and what it would cost too hire one of there contractors that they recommend and the trying too get the two of them together etc. Well, it wasn't worth the hassle or and more importantly the "COST" it was better all the way around going with this company. Needless too say, the reviews i red about the chain store job's " horror " story's i red. So too sum it up, i saved over $ 500.00 dollars, in going with this company and too "ME" more importantly the overall "Hassle" i would have gone through. So let me end by saying, "DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME" and just go with Fast Water Heater Co. I Guarantee you won't be Disappointed. Sincerely, Don from San Jose.

We had trouble with the pilot light on the water heater, it kept going out and we had no hot water. Contacted Fast Water Heater Company and explained the situation to them regarding the water heater and that we had no hot water. We were given several prices, depending on the warranty you were looking for. We chose the 10 year warranty, the brand is Rheem which is one of the best water heater's currently on the market. Because there ad says that they can complete the work within 24 hours and they were booked for the day and would not be able to come out to install the water heater until the following day, they gave us a $50.00 discount. The technician George was very professional, he explained everything to us and what would be needed to install the water heater properly. Our water heater was 10 to 12 years old. It took him about an hour, and we now have hot water again! There are several other parts we need to have installed for the water heater because of the new rules and regulations for our county. We will be contacting Fast Water Heater Company within the next 30-45 days to perfom the remainder of the work required. We appreciate their service and would not hesitate to use them again.

Everything went great. They were able to perform the services at any earlier date than originally thought which was great. My water hater was flushed and cleaned up. I was also given some tips on water heater maintenance.

I was not there and my wife indicated that all went well. However, there was a trail of sutt left on the side walk. The rain eventually washed it away.

Everything went as expected. Crew was very efficient, professional, and helpful.

The water heater died on June 3rd due to the VOC sensor. We contacted Fast Water heater on Saturday. They weren't able to come out until Sunday. We were told they needed to order parts and wouldn't be able to fix it until they ordered the parts from Rheem. Then they said we needed to move the washer and drier and all the washer chemicals even though they didn't say this when they installed the heater the month before. They NEVER order the parts that week. They came back out on Saturday after I called the corporate number on Friday and they can't fix the water heater without the parts THEY DID NOT ORDER the week before. Now I have been without hot water 8 days. They tell me we will have hot water on Monday, but I am not holding my breath. We have been told that if the VOC sensor detects a VOC it takes minimum 2 days to reset the water heater. This doesn't match what I have found on the internet. If that was actually true Rheem would have a much worse reputation.

Fast Water Heater did an outstanding job from start to finish. Very punctual and professional. Their technician was a terrific. He pointed out to me that my old unit was still under warranty and I should probably get a pro-rated refund on it. I took his advice and wound up getting over $400 from the manufacturer. Granted, I had to haul it back to the retailer but it was well worth it. I'd use these guys again in a heartbeat.

Overall, I had a good, not great, experience with Fast Water Heater. I needed to quickly replace a water heater for my mother-in-law's condo. I purchased an Angie's List deal for Fast Water Heater, where it indicated that I could probably get a more efficient Energy-Star rated water heater at no additional cost (after taking into account the rebate I would get). I had a long discussion (easily 15-20 minutes) with one of their reps to make sure I was getting the right water heater in terms of capacity, BTUs, physical dimension, connections, etc. I wanted to do this, because my mother-in-law struggles a little with English, so I wanted to make sure there would be no surprises, since I couldn't be there until the work was complete. Everything sounded good, so I scheduled the work for a Monday morning. Almost as soon as I got to work that morning, I get a call from my mother-in-law. She's being told that the water heater I arranged to have installed won't work. It turned out that the Energy-Star water heater required an electrical outlet to plug into, which wasn't available in the utility closet at her condo. This was information that should have been presented during my long conversation before I purchased the deal and scheduled the work. Also, they couldn't get a proper (non-Energy-Star) water heater that same day. So, I arranged to get what was essentially the original water heater on the deal, but I couldn't get on their schedule until Wednesday. Surprisingly, even though this mix-up was not my fault, I did not get priority for the reschedule, so my mother-in-law had to deal with two more days of being without hot water. Needless to say, I was extremely unhappy and was about to cancel and get a refund on this deal. Before that happened, I got a call from Fast Water Heater. They arranged to at least put the job on a waitlist for the following day (Tuesday), then they proceeded to give me significant discounts on the additional work required to meet current codes. By the way, if you're in California and have a home that's about 20 years old and just replacing your original water heater now, expect to pay several hundred dollars to get everything up to code...that's regardless of which vendor you go through. With that and considering the overall good rating Fast Water Heater has on Angie's List, I decided to go through with the job. Unfortunately, they still couldn't fit us in on Tuesday via the waiting list, so the work was done on the Wednesday. Once they got started, no problems. They had to go through the living room to get the old water heater out, so they covered up the floors to protect them from any water still leaking from the water heater (after they pumped out as much as they could). When the job was done, the new water heater had the area around it cleaned and the connections looked well done without any apparent leaks. One month later, no problems and no complaints about the job that was done. Taking a look at the overall picture, if that mix-up with the Energy-Star water heater could have been avoided, this would probably be an overall A rating. However, considering that, the delay it caused, and the discounts Fast Water Heater gave me to try to make up for the time and trouble, I would definitely keep them under consideration the next time I need to have a water heater replaced and hopefully get a rep with better knowledge of what's needed for each water heater they offer.

I talked to Scott on the sales side to determine the right kind of water heater I wanted. Scott turned out to be very knowledgeable about the the products. He helped me to select all other things such as pan etc. He was very courteous and was very helpful. It also helped me to choose this company as there was a sale going on on the hot water heater. Next day Joe came to install the water heater. He is a professional and did a great job in installing the system. He also suggested to provide 2X4 under the water heater to give good support. I happen to have an adequate quantity of wood and everything went smoothly. Over all I am quite pleased with the contact with the company and its people. I will recommend this company to others without any hesitation. Andy

I received a fast, responsive service beyond expectation. I really did not have confidence on the "big deal" purchase on Angie's list in general, but this time it proofed either I was wrong or I was lucky. The Technician was not only professional on his specialty but also patient enough to help me drain the water into two 32 gallons garbage cans. It would have been so much easier for him to just drain the water to the lawn/ street. I really appreciate his good heart of water conservation.

The work involved more than the standard replace and haul due to poor venting in the existing unit, and the size of water heater required. As a result, the water heater was more expensive than was initially quoted, however, Carlos was excellent in communicating the changes needed, and went as far as doing the additional work for no additional charge. The service was excellent and he did very good and clean work.

I would give them a very high rating. They were efficient and did everything right. They did exactly what they were supposed to and they put in high quality water heater and took the other one out. They cleaned up after by themselves and they were professional and polite.

Delivery set up was very easy. Installer arrived, asked if I wanted a drain pan - which I did - and then got to work. In and out in 2 hours. Couldn't have been easier. Water heater working very well!

My water heater base needed replacement. The guys removed the old heater on Thursday and came back on Saturday to install the new heater after the base was all fixed up. Very accommodating w.r.t timing adjustments.

The dispatcher contacted me right away. The installer in the Bay Area called Leka showed up on the allotted day. However, a couple of things happened. 1. There was not enough space in the area available for the water heater to go with the 50Gallon water heater I wanted. 2. My natural gas connection had been turned off so even if the installation got done, it could not be tested. So Leka and I agreed and set up the appointment for a different day, this time with just 40 Gallon water heater. However since code required 50Gallon, I waived the permit requirement and the installation went smoothly. Leka was very professional and did a good job. No additional charges or anything in my case. He also tested the water heater and it was dripping at the water connections. So he fixed those and then left the place cleaning up all the things.

We had a new 40 gallon water heater installed which is a $600 12 year model from Home Depot. The basic installation cost was $469. We did end up paying for additional things like a drip pan, a new gas shutoff valve since the old one was undersized, etc. but still the overall cost was still lower than other numbers I had seen. And we declined some suggested work, which is always an option. Everything went very smoothly.

I found Fast Water Heater through an Angie's List deal and it worked out great. I came home Thursday night to discover my water heater leaking. I called in on Friday morning and I talked to Marcus in the office to set up an appointment and they were able to come out on Saturday morning to do the replacement. Marcus was very knowledgeable and patient in talking me through the different types of water heaters to choose from and I ultimately went with the Rheem 50 gal. gas unit. T was the guy who came out to do the work and he was great as well - very friendly and efficient. Overall, they made this stressful situation much easier to deal with and they did great work!

Went Great! Jupiter was a very good technician, friendly and on time. Scott followed up well with the appointment planning. Everything works well now.

They came out and told me that it was going to cost more than $3000.00 to replace my water heater. He spent a lot of time explaining and justifyig the cost, however, I felt this estimate was unreasonable and therefor am cancelling the deal and requesting a refund. They also said that they had no notification that I had purchased this Big Deal. I ended up finding another company to do this service for me for less than $1000.00.

The service was okay. They were good. There were no delays or problems in scheduling. There was an additional probably $100 more on top of the $799 Big Deal for like a tube. It was something I did not expect and I think that is normal for a lot of the companies on Angie’s List. You buy the Deal and everything else is added on top and you almost feel like you should have bought it yourself without using the Angie’s List Deal. I would probably not use them again in the future.

They were fantastic. Over and beyond good. They were prompt. The technician was great, he was very personable and professional. He did a fantastic job over all. Can't say enough good things about the service.

So far so good, will see how long it lasts.
