O'Connell was prompt in replying to my voice message requesting service. Their receptionist was exceptionally cordial and was able to schedule me outside of normal work hours at no additional cost. The service technician was professional, cleaned up any mess made (which was minimal) and explained all work prior to beginning, ensuring I understood/signed off on the scope of work. They followed up within a day, asking for feedback on their employee, etc. Their prices were competitive and they gave all options available so I felt I was completely informed before contracting them. I have kept this contractor on retainer for any work in the future for my rental property, they were so good.
Description of Work: I had the kitchen plumbing cleaned due to new upstairs neighbors in my condo. I also had a water heater replaced.

They wanted to charge me way too much for the work they wanted to do. They wanted to charge me $340 to replace the sink faucet if I bought the parts, so I ended up fixing it myself for $7.

They do a wonderful job and have wonderful personnel. Their yearly cost is less than others in the area for preventative work. Their contracts are yearly instead of every three years. I like that you get the choice each year. With their contract, you get 15% off any service if you are a member of theirs. Our air conditioning went out twice in one month and decided to have it replaced. We waited 5 days in the heat for the new system to come in. They brought us two portable air conditioner while we waited without us asking. It was very nice of them and they really went above and beyond.
Description of Work: They do a yearly service on our plumbing, heating, and air conditioning. Recently, they installed a new heating and cooling system, including duct work.

**UPDATE** Little bit of an update. I will not use. Don't recommend them either. The owner called me today and said there was a mess up. He then demanded that I take my review off yelp or he wouldn't fix the problem of the wrong price. He also said the tech put I live in house. Not true I live in mobile home. Strike 1. Tech put he had to open the walls and put copper in. Strike 2 and 3. Well the owner said he wasn't in town and the service should have said that. So he said he would refund about ~133 bucks.. As of 1204pm hasn't happened. I will update when it does hit the account. ** **. THIS IS A CHRISTMAS RIPOFF! Go else where they are a SCAM!!! and ripoff!! On 12-19-12 I had to call them because I accidentally broke off the the on/off valve next to the toilet. Well I looked in our newsletter and thought they would be good. So I called them and they came out the next day. Well BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE! I was told it was free to come out. tomorrow. SO that was fine they came out and did the work (40-45mins max) well after replacing the part I broke I get a bill for $495. I was like that's awfully high. SO I had to pay it since they did the work. Well I then called family members who had owned many homes in the past and even they said that was to high. I tried to call Bonney but no luck. They pretty much said TOUGH. I asked how how they got that price and all they would say is our book but when you ask to see this and quot;Bookand quot; you can't. And all their people they send out do NOT work for them they are independent contractors. I called the state and since they charged under $500 there is nothing they can do. Just stay away they are really bad. Stay away!

Jason arrived on time. I explained the situation to him regarding the leak of water from the AC. He checked the discharge point to see if anything was blocking it from that end. Then he explained that over time water can sit in the pipes and become goopy. He next disconnected the piping by the AC unit and flushed it with water. That worked and when we looked outside, I could see a lot of gunk/sludge that had come out at the discharge point. He told me to watch while he poured more water into the piping to make certain the water was draining well. He checked additional piping near the condenser and found more built up sludge which he removed. He gave me the number of a restoration service in case I needed it for the carpeting. I was very happy to have the problem resolved so quickly and efficiently. I did purchase their BAM plan which was an additional cost of $99 but I felt worth the money since it covers inspecting the heating and AC unit twice yearly and also includes a plumbing inspection of the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. I actually needed a faucet handle for one of the showers fixed; so I had him do that as well. The repair work on the shower faucet was $225. That involved replacing the cartridge parts and labor. The price of $165 for the AC line was the discounted price since I had purchased their BAM plan. That gives a 15% discount to their regular prices. Otherwise it would have been $194 for clearing the AC discharge line. Jason was personable, friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to have more work done by Bonney Plumbing.
Description of Work: Condenser for air conditioning unit was not discharging water efficiently and had created a leak onto the rug in an area near the AC unit. Jason, the person sent by Bonney, was able to determine that it was caused by a build up of sludge in the discharge pipe leading outside. He cleared it quickly, reconnected the piping and it has been working perfectly since then.

Our installer was a professional and we'd be glad to have him back for any other plumbing work. The project ran longer than expected because of problems with scheduling required city inspections, but we were kept informed all along the way. When the job was completed, the work site was clean and free of debris. As an added bonus, our rusty gas meter got a paint job!
Description of Work: Installed a Rinnai 199,000 BTU tankless water heater in our garage. This was a replacement for a 20 year old conventional water heater that had started leaking. The installation involved running a 3/4 inch gas line to bypass the existing 1/2 inch line, establishing a line current connection for the heater's control system, and new venting to the outside for both fresh air intake and exhaust.

The work was done as promised, it just ended up being more than expected, with add-ons for replacement of under-sink faucets. We were quoted less, and it seemed high to begin with. Ended up signing up for BAM protection/membership plan, which was supposed to be a wash at the finish, so we had some A/C and heater inspections during the rest of the year. The technician was professional and he did all the work, and did not leave any mess. They are OK, and I wouldn't be afraid to use them again, however, I'd check and quot;the listand quot; first.

We bought the Bam scam, I mean BAM plan, from Bonney because I needed to have my sewer drain snaked and cleaned out and the $99 would get a discount ont he service and get us an A/C inspection, plumbing inspection and heating inspection. The tech cleaned out the tube, and offered us a discounted video inspection of the sewer, which we declined. I then had him do the plumbing inspection. Upon looking over all the fittings and seeing they were not standard he commented that they we re poor and he and quot;hoped we got a good dealand quot; on the house. inferring we had low quality parts. His overall attitude was condescending and rude.

The AC guy was very thorough and professional. He did fine. Previously, when the Heating-Ac unit was installed by Bonney in October 2012 we had two missed appointments because the Bonney office staff did not know what they were doing in setting up the appointment schedule in conjunction with the City of Folsom housing inspector people and then keeping us accurately informed. That was most disconcerting and time wasting for us. There were a couple of technical difficulties with the installation of the unit, but one of the Bonney engineers figured it out and then all was well on that account.
Description of Work: One of their air conditioning people came out to check on the new AC unit that the Bonney company had installed last October 2012. This checkup was part of their BAM program and so was already paid for as part of their three-part annual checkup program: plumbing, heating, air conditioning. So, the cost of each individual checkup pro-rates to 33.00. A great deal!

I called Bonney because our water pressure regulator needed to be changed. However, before calling them, we had a city inspector determine our water pressure was too high and most likely, the regulator needed to be changed. I also investigated the retail prices of a new regulator. I called Bonney and the representative was very responsive and pleasant and we set the appointment. They called while they were enroute to ensure someone was home and arrived during the scheduled 4 hour window. The plumber who arrived was professional and pleasant. The plumber inspected the work site and the work to be done and gave us an estimate and we were shocked to say the least. They wanted $794.12 to install a $100.00 regulator. As I wrote before, I investigated the price of the regulator and the retail price was a bit less than $100.00. I also checked the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the mean wage in 2012 for a plumber was about $24.00 per hour. So giving them the benefit, let say the plumber's wage was $30.00 per hour and if we throw in 50% for benefits we're at $45.00 per hour. Let's add 100% ($45.00) for administration, rent, overhead and profit and we're at $90.00 an hour. For an experienced plumber this job would take 30 minutes. But let's be generous and give them 1 hour, plus1 hour for the trip to and from. So now we have two hours at $90.00 an hour and$100.00 for the part. So we're at $280.00; where did the extra $514.12 come from. I think my calculations are pretty reasonable but even if we double it, there is still $230 (+/- ) for 1 hour's work. That is outragous! Obviously, they didn't get the job and I will NEVER call them for a job and I will be sure to tell all my friends not to call them.
Description of Work: They were to replace a water pressure regulator but when we saw the cost, we did not allow them to proceed.

This was a small bathroom with big problems. Considering that - the job went extremely well. With a larger company like Bonney Plumbing you get a lot of knowledge and experience but most helpful was the connections for all of our needs and not just the basic plumbing problems. There is a necessary process and path for complete remodels and our Service Tech Dwayne help us with every step.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel with a small amount of water damage. Our service technician Dwayne was able to assess our 1950's bathroom and provide us with a solution for every problem and situation along the way. Bonney Plumbing helped us from demolition of the old bathroom to the final installation of our new vanity and toilet.

O'Connell was very professional, courteous and prompt. I called them late one day and they were at my house the next morning right on schedule. They fixed the original problem with my water heater and a related problem in less than 2 hours at a very fair price. When the pilot light on the water heater blew out 2 days later, they came back and fixed it for no charge. I would use them again.

Instead of replacing all the plumbing which would have been even more expensive he cut out the cracked joint sections and used rubber couplings to connect the pipe. Still it worked out to a pretty expensive visit. An 8 hour job and $2,800 bill. At least we have no more leaks, such as water on the mud sill or damp areas under the house which could cause mold or a good environment for termites. The plumber was not pushy and knew it was a lot of money however I agreed that the problem would only get worse and we needed to address it sooner than latter.
Description of Work: On a routine plumbing inspection numerous leaks were found on 6 tee's and elbows. I was informed the ABS pipe used in 1989 was defective and actually on glued sections the pipe weakens and cracks.

I called Bonney to fix a leaky faucet in my bathroom. The plumber they sent charged me 125 dollars to and quot;attempt to fixand quot; the faucet. The faucet continued to leak even after his attempt, so he took a picture of the faulty part and said he would call me back after doing some research. It's been over two months and he has never called, despite my calling the office twice. If the plumber or Bonney had decent customer service, someone would have gotten back to me...if only to let me know a replacement part could not be found. Instead, I'm out 125 bucks and still have a leaky faucet. Update: Bonney got back to me promptly after I posted this review, apologized, and offered to remedy the situation to my satisfaction.

I removed toilet ahead of time, as I was planning to anyway, in order to lay new ceramic tile floor. Called Bonney, because of the ads they were running at the time on tv/radio. Service technician ran cleanout through 35 feet of exterior main drain line to city hookup. Fee for this was $250. I asked technician about getting a video of inside of pipe. Cost for this was another $250. So total came to $500. I had a feeling this was pretty high, but went ahead with job. Now I find out that this was indeed a very high charge for such a small and simple job! Simple, because technician had easy access through exposed toilet drain, as well as roof vent, and length of pipe cleaned and inspected was quite short. By the way the echnician said pipe had been pierced by tree roots in the area and entire pipe should be replaced at an estimated cost of $3685.
