After I ordered the sod the lady in the office ( who does not know all and everything about sod as they could and should-) told me I have to call at a certain time for scheduling delivery. So, I as the customer have to watch the time and set my cell phone alarm to not miss the time to call them to see when they are scheduled for my delivery, otherwise they will reschedule the delivery for another day.So, then she told me the delivery time is Sat May 28, between 0230-0430 AM. Reason that they cut supposedly the grass the day before in the evening and then stack it up for delivery early mornings the next day. That sounded fine with me. The day before the driver named Bobby showed up at my place to see where he can turn the truck around and check out where I wanted the pallets staged. He said he will show up at about 0200- 0230AM at my residence. That made it easier so I could tell my sod installers to be there at about 0230 in the morning as well.My sod installers arrived at my residence at about 0200 and had to sleep in their truck .The sod delivery was supposed to be at my residence between 0200-2:30 AM. The guy Bobby didn't show up until 5:15AM with the sod. When I asked him why he did not call, he said there was in a DUI checkpoint and he got a ticket and was detained and even DOT was there(!!!). Surprisingly the supposed DOT Checkpoint was not in the straight delivery route from the sod company to my house, unless he came from somewhere else( prior delivery or so). Then he said he called my cell phone. Then he said he spoke to somebody else and I was not there. In actuality my phone never rung. So I am thinking that there was not a piece of thruth comming out of his mouth.Excuses, excuses, excuses.... When the sod arrived, it was DEAD GRASS. I could tell it was old, the sod on the palette was cracked and dry. The was no moisture wicked between the layers of sod. It looked like tan carpet. It was cut so short, the roots appeared to be dead as well. It seemed as though it had been on the palette for good over 1 week, yet the driver and also the guy Rick insisted that it was cut on may 27th, 2011. The delivery guy Bobby was repeatedly telling me that I was "MAKING A MISTAKE" by refusing the delivery. I felt a little threatened. Thanks god I had two witnesses ( my guys who were supposed to lay the sod for me) and who are experienced in laying down sod, who recommended for me to refuse to accept the delivery.I took pictures with my camera- unseen by the delivery guy -to prepare for court, just in case. Even the owner Rick was difficult to work with. He said he was just down the street from me. I said that does not make your grass green... He claimed he would never sell to me again.I can live with that, no problem!!! Bobby spend a while on the cell phone with Rick.Bobby then even had the audacity even asked if he can leave this dead grass on my yard,- respective in my street- that he ( Bobby) would pick it up later!!! Don't let anybody pray on your good heart. This is business and not favors. It seemed as though they were trying to leave it on my yard so they could later stick me with the bill for accepting it. They were difficult to do business with and I wouldn't reccomend it to my worst enemy. Also they request payment upfront, which was a little suspicious. Be very careful who you are doing business with. This company left a very sour taste in my mouth, but I want to protect other consumers that they do not have to go through the same bad experience I had. You would think for 2000 dollars to get green fresh grass, would not you???
