Workers didn't show up. Fights broke out between workers, Lead worker quit the job. Another employee was left and had basically no skill. Drywall hangers that replaced these guys were o.k. and hard workers. Bus. owner sent in two guys to do the texture on 1st floor(one of these was asking for drugs). No rooms came close to matching. Bus. owner then sent in another texture guy to fix and I paid additional just to get it to look right. Second phase was installed reasonably Ok and the texture/tape guy bent over back wards. He also showed me a bucket for drywall mud that had some of my submerged in toi bottom. Someone was try to steal it. That one item was worth $700. What else did they steal? business owner would say the workers would be arriving at certain time and no show or he put them on another job and usually not contact me. Business owner went AWOL for almost a week and did not contact me. He said that he was in the hospital. I could understand this but a relative or worker could have let me know. Based on the other problems, I have a hard time believing this, but I could be wrong. For fairness, I did delay the second phase of the job due to electrical and insulation problems and it took longer than I expected. I was understanding if he wasn't able to start right way after, but he didn't convey any problems of starting. There was miscommunication between me and the type of texture and the additrional cost. The texture guy told it was called one thing and told the business owner the same. The extra was $400 and I agreed. the business owner then said the texture guy called it something else and the price should have been $1000. Basically lack of communication and lack of supervision. he busniss owner was upset when I asked for a lein relaes from his suppliers. When he gave me one it was not the right type and I contacted the supplier my self. This p***** him off. After everything that went on, why would I expect he was paying his bills, specially after some of the workers had said they hadn't been paid in a timely matter? In the end, the job was completed and I paid more than origionally quoted. I still would have paid more IF he would have performed better quality, less problems, no attempted theft, better commincation. But, that didn't happen
Description of Work: 3/8" Veneer drywall over existing cracked plaster. Job was divided into two phases. Contact was based on both and the owner agreed that splitting the contact into two phases was fair. I(homeowner agrred to additional costs for change in texture based on business owner/installer info)
