The staff at Patio Warehouse was great. Jeff was quick to get out and give us an estimate. Sarah was always quick to get answers to any question we had over the phone. Patio Warehouse took application to our association for approval. We had some confusion due to our association which slowed us down at little but which was not Patio Warehouse's fault. They do charge a fee for credit cards so we ended up paying by check. Small deposit, half of balance after final set of measurements were taken for supplies and final payment after completion. When they tore down the old wooden cover they discovered termites which meant another delay to get our association to get the termite guys out to treat the problem. We appreciated Patio Warehouse's patients again as we waited for the treatment so the termites would be gone from where they were attaching the new cover. They installed the new Elite Wood cover the day after the termite treatment. It was installed in a day and came out GREAT! The installers did a very professional job and left the patio and garden very clean. The new cover will be there for the life of the house. We Thank them for their service and professional installation.

Jeff, the president, responded promptly to our inquiry and came out quickly to provide a design and estimate. He was sensitive to providing us close to what we envisioned, while keeping within our budget. Going through our HOA for approval was a nightmare on our HOA side, but Evonne from Patio Warehouse stayed in contact with me, was very persistent and obtained additional drawings that were required by our HOA. We had a few minor glitches with miscommunication during the construction. I would have preferred that the foreman of the project be there throughout the entire process, but instead was gone for most of the 2nd and 3rd day to oversee other jobs. However, the company was quick to come back to address our concerns, doing whatever it took to make it to our satisfaction. In the end we are very pleased with the look and durability of our new patio cover, especially because we won't ever need to replace it again.
Description of Work: Removed old wood patio cover which was very large but suffering from dry rot and some wood fungus. Installed an Elitewood aluminum patio cover (approx. 20' by 28') over existing stone pilasters and attached to house.

This patio project was started and completed in a reasonable time period and we appreciated the good communication through Sarah in the company office. Our new Elitewood cover has a solid center section with an open lattice area on two ends. A number of new light fixtures were installed as well as an outdoor fan. The Patio Warehouse crew was conscientious and polite. Along the way, we needed to make a few changes in design details and these experienced builders were very helpful and patient . . . Frank and the guys are amazing! Their attention to detail and seeing the job through to the finishing touches are outstanding. The final result exceeded our expectations; it is beautiful as well as functional for our outdoor enjoyment. And one of the best things is that it will never need painting!
Description of Work: Patio Warehouse replaced a large, very old wood patio cover for us that was badly damaged by termites and wood-rot. They installed a white Elitewood cover with a solid center section and an open lattice area on two ends. This included detailed electrical work and securing necessary county building permits.

The more you are involved in your project, the better it will work out. I also appreciate the payment structure that Patio allowed me to do. Remember, the material...aluminium wood is coming from two or three factories that all the companies use. So, it is the installer that counts. Patio worked out for me.
Description of Work: I spent a lot of time interviewing several potential contractors to understand materials, workmanship and b*******. Pricing was all over the map, but it soon distilled down to the right material, the right way to build it and now whom could do it and for how much $$$. I selected Patio and I was not disappointed. My first suggestion is to get as many details as possible into the contract.. There were some slip-ups with the wrong style material being delivered, which caused push back by the installer and a couple of days delay. It got sorted out, no problem. Another tip, stay involved with the project to minimize issues. While the installers were very experienced, language was at times a handicap. Yet once on the job, the fellas worked sun up to sun down...which you need to prepare for. Every callback to attend to details, even 6 weeks after completion, was done to my satisfaction. I have a h*** of a fine patio structure, thanks to Patio Warehouse, and I must say, my close working relationship.
Unfortunately, and through no fault of Patio Warehouse, we had to back out of the construction due to personal issues.
Description of Work: We met with Jeff with the intent to revamp our backyard; bbq island, fire pit, patio cover, stained concrete. We have an existing pool that we were trying to tie together. Jeff was very knowledgeable and had wonderful ideas about how to use all these diverse materials/areas to accentuate our pool/backyard.

The job ended up excellent but it was a nightmare to go through. It was a horrible experience. I was jumping mad. They did not know what they were doing. They would ask me for money to give it to some guy, I asked them which guy and they said the guy who worked today. I told them nobody came for two days then they apologized about it. They would call me up and start talking about something, I asked them what they were talking about, they said had me confused with somebody else. It was really bad. They delayed what should have been over in a two weeks; it took almost three months. I did the final payment after they were done but they called up and said I have some money which I still owe them. They did not even tell me when they were leaving the job. I had another problem with the pricing too. It was already a month and a half since they started working and they should have ordered the pillars when they had taken my money to go buy to the supplies but they had not. Then they called me up and tried to get more money out of me. They said they were out of the pillars I wanted and said it would cost me another $800 for the other pillars. They gave me options but I did not agree. I told them I would wait for three weeks till we get the new pillars. I would never go to this company again and will never recommend it. But I would say, the end result is beautiful.

With the homeowners association breathing down our neck and no more time extensions allowed, we needed repair work done fast to keep from having to pay penalties to the HOA. We got a lot of quotes (way out of our budget) to replace our 30 year old patio cover & deck taking anywhere from 2 weeks to a month to complete. When Patio Warehouse president Jarod Maples said he could finish the job in a week it was hard to believe him, not with the quality of work he was showing me on his iPad during his visit. It looked like Patio Warehouse did beautiful work... but in a weeks time? A job this big, and at this low of a price? I doubted it could be done, but we were out of options. One week later, I have a fantastic combination style wood 2nd story deck and Elitewood lattice patio cover with lighting! It's absolutely beautiful! It was a huge job and I still can't believe they did it in a week within our very limited budget. It's more than we ever expected and we love it!!! Patio Warehouse was very professional to work with. Sarah and Jarod were always available with any questions or concerns we had. Jason, Tony and the crew are friendly and artists with their work. They were all very interested in our personal feedback and making us happy. I give the whole experience a 10 out 10 and wish all home remodel upgrades went this well. I will be a customer for life. We live next to a trail and have had neighbors and complete strangers stop and compliment our new backyard like we remodeled everything when we only replaced the deck and patio cover but Patio Warehouse did such an incredible job it really has changed the whole backyard. I hope my rating and report is taken seriously and compels another to hire Patio Warehouse, then I will feel like I paid back some of my gratitude because work done this well should be rewarded. ~David Brown 3/07/2012

We are currently completely remodeling the outside of our home. As part of that remodel we needed to replace a 30 year old aluminum awning. I looked at wood, vinyl, and aluminum cover solutions and did 3 months of research. After deciding on aluminum, I selected 3-4 contractors from Angie's list and got their estimates for the same product and the same configuration. Patio Warehouse was a last minute add to the quotes, I was actually ready to sign with another contractor and I am very glad I waited. When I contacted Patio Warehouse I first spoke to Sarah and she took my info and promised someone would be in-touch shortly. 15 minutes later Jarod Mapels, returned my call and the President said he could meet me that day, At this point I should let you know that I live in the South Bay and Patio Warehouse is in Tustin! Jarod arrived as promised, asked some questions, listened, and very quickly assessed my needs, made some suggestions and prepared an estimate which was very reasonable and in-line with my other quotes. Then he offered some suggestions that would reduce the cost while maintaining the quality. The result was a quote that was almost $2000 LESS than any other quote for the same product. I agreed to the price and we scheduled the work for before Christmas, unfortunately due to issues with city inspections on the other work I being done, the install had to be delayed several times and each time they were very understanding and accommodating. The install was finally completed 1/18/2012 and we couldn't be happier. The Patio Warehouse team arrived as promised and were efficient, professional and cleaned up after they were done. Any concerns or questions were answered quickly and professionally. My wife has been sceptical as to how the cover would look. From the beginning she told me "this better not make the house look like a mobile home". Well she is LOVES the new cover and my general contractor wanted to know who had done the work, he wants refer business because he is so impressed with the quality and look of the cover. Thanks Patio Warehouse!!

We first learned of Patio Warehouse at the Orange County (CA) Home Show. We spoke to the salesman and arranged for an estimate. At the very outset, as well as throughout the process, we experienced a high level of professionalism with everyone we dealt with. The installer estimated the total job (demolition and installation) would take four days and they completed it on time, despite several changes that we requested. We were most impressed with the look of the cover and deck, as well as the quality of work done. We would definitely use this company again and would highly recommend them.

I received a couple of quotes and they were right there as far as price. They came out and gave me some ideas and it all looked good. The patio cover look great. A nice addition to my home. They also filled in two different areas with flagstone. The old owners had different ideas than me and I simply needed them to fill in the areas. They matched the stone work perfect. Once it "seasons" you won't be able to tell the difference. I was most impressed with their process and communication. They had a person who took care of the permits. Their office keep me informed. I even over paid them and they contacted me about my error and I replaced with a correct check. Overall very good experience. Professional and quality work.
Description of Work: I had a insulated patio cover installed. I also had them fill in some empty areas with flagstone to match the existing stones.
Crew was very professional and did a great job with the work. I like the new maintenance free patio plus the new concrete stairs and driveway. The only problem was rain drainage with the new concrete driveway. I should have asked for a channel drain to be installed to collect the rain water but we kept the old circular drain to collect the rain water and drain into the earth. This did not prove sufficient to drain the water and a large puddle developed after heavy rains (ie. drain got backed up). I recommend to seriously research solutions to potential rain drainage issues when redoing hardscape in your yard.
Description of Work: Hired patio warehouse to replace old concrete patio with paving stone, replace part of concrete driveway and back door stairs, and replace old patio roof with new elitewood aluminum patio roof (10X20; combination solid and lattice roof). Total work including demo took about a week and a half. the price was fair compared to other contractors and I went with patio warehouse due to their good reviews on Angie's List.

We love these guys, they showed up when and where they said they would. They were fast and very efficient. And best of all they did top quality work. The project started on time and was completed in one week just as they said it would. They worked with me on a few special requests I came up with during the project with out any objections or adjustments to the price. I highly recommend them for any project.
Description of Work: I have a second story wood deck that the main beam had rotted out so it was unusable. We talked about a couple of options and came up with replacing the wood deck with a stucco deck that looks like an extension. The old deck I have two have replaced once before and when it rain the water came right through. This new deck is now water proof and covers my grill area so I can use it in the rain. They painted new deck to match the house and even repainted the railing that we reused, that was a nice finishing touch.

We previously had a 30+ year old wood patio cover that was quite damaged, and in desperate need of being replaced. We contacted 4 separate contractors (2 wood contractors, and 2 metal --- Elitewood --- contractors) for estimates. We were very impressed with Jarod's professionalism and knowledge of patio covers and construction in general, and decided to do business with Patio Warehouse even though they were not the low bid on our project. Patio Warehouse performed flawlessly with all aspects of our project. The demolition and installation by Frank and his crew were performed as if they were doing it for their own backyard. The attention to detail and overall quality of the work by Frank and his crew exceeded our expectations. Included in our job was the installation of several light fixtures, and replacing electrical switches to those light fixtures. All of the electrical work was done with precision. All of the typical "challenges" that typically arise in a construction project like this were handled by Frank with excellence, and his communication throughout the project kept us completely informed ---- eliminating any potential surprises. The job was completed on time (much faster than I anticipated!), and Frank's crew left the work-site clean each day. We are very happy with the end result of our patio cover, and would not hesitate to do business with Patio Warehouse in the future.

Patio Warehouse did great job for my patio cover. Jeff responded to my phone call very fast and came on time for the appointment for estimation. Basically everything went through very smooth. My patio needs more stucco touch up then they usually do and they did it without adding extra charge. We enjoy our new patio cover very much.

The owner came to my house to measure, design and quote my job. He followed up promptly and answered all of my questions. Once we decided to move forward, a project manager was assigned to my job. She proceeded to work with my HOA and collect the required signatures to do the project. The permit was obtained. I was kept updated via phone and email. Once everything was in place, the installation was scheduled. I had another project planned so Patio Warehouse installed the patio cover on a Sunday! They even installed some lights that I had purchased, electrical hookup and all. I am very pleased with the appearance and quality of their work and it fits right in with my BBQ island. I would highly recommend Patio Warehouse!

I liked everything about them. I was surprised with one of the reviewers who didn’t give them a good review at all and said they weren’t on time. I found that not to be the case with me. The only thing I will say is they were going to start on Friday, but they didn’t until Saturday. I had to call them on Friday and realized they were tied up on something else, so they would come on Saturday. I was fine with that because I had the weekend clear. They finished the work by Sunday afternoon. I am satisfied with the work they did. They cleaned up. I was impressed that the project manager stayed through the whole job the whole weekend.
Description of Work: I used Patio Warehouse. I have had a wood patio up for 19 years and 2 years ago I had termites, so I had it repaired. Two years later now I had the termites back, so I had a replacement patio put up over the weekend instead of getting it repaired.

Well, I never expected my first review on Angie?s List would be a negative one. I suppose this experience prodded me into writing about it. From the great ratings here on Angie?s List I called Patio Warehouse and left a message. Jeff, one of the owners, called me back two days before Memorial Day weekend 2011 and we set up an appointment for the following Thursday at 9:00am. Today is the day of the appointment and nobody showed up and nobody called. I called the office and spoke to Sarah, who is lovely on the phone, and she said she'd try to get to the bottom of it because there was no appointment with me on the books. Soon after that I received a call from Jared, the other owner, and he said he knew nothing about it, would call Jeff and would call me right back. That was at 11:00am. At 1:00pm I still had not received a call from Jeff or Jared. I called Sarah back at the office and she told me that Jared had spoken with Jeff, that Jeff totally dropped the ball and Jared was supposed to call me and take care of it. Sarah went on to explain that they are extremely busy and even though they have done work in my area it would be too far to travel and they would have to charge me too much to make the job worth it. She also said she believed that Jeff decided this over the weekend and I just got lost in the shuffle. She then said I?m probably lucky this happened and this way I can find somebody more local to really take care of me. She apologized for Jeff and Jared, said she felt terrible and embarrassed about how I was treated and how this was handled. She also was surprised they would do this with someone who might write a review. Sure, I get it, I?m small potatoes or inconvenient, but whatever the reason this isn?t how you treat a potential customer with friends all over Orange County and Southern California. They absolutely found my time was worth nothing and let me sit here stewing all day wondering if they?d be able to come. If you end up hiring them just be aware that this is the lack of respect they had for me and the kind of customer service they find acceptable. Does this sound like a company you want to hire?

I have an upper level deck of travertine, off my master bedroom, that is growing mushrooms out the bottom plywood, so obviously it is wet and needs to be replaced. I had decided on an Azek deck before calling Patio Warehouse (Jeff Shore) and only wanted the deck itself replaced, as the supporting joists, and railings with glass walls, are in excellent condition. I had already seen three contractors before calling, but since Patio Warehouse has experience with Azek materials, I wanted to get his bid. ...I honestly felt like Jeff Shore was a "Used Car Salesman". He wasn't listening to what I needed, but only what he wanted to sell me. I told him twice that I didn't need to replace the glass wall or railings on the deck. I didn't want to paint my support columns, either. To his credit, he did draw up his bid, at my house, but his price was close to DOUBLE what my other bids were, i.e. $14,124 vs about $7,270! When I told him it was double my other bids, he started the "used car salesman" tactics, and started cutting prices in half. At this point, I was done with him. I don't need a contractor to play those games with me! His final price was still $1,500 more than the contractor I chose to replace my deck. Update: I am at a loss as to the response from Patio Warehouse. Do you even have the right house? My house is only 17 years old to begin with so there's no way I had 30 year old joists. They joists were uncovered by my contractor when he removed the old deck and before he put down the Azek planks. They were in perfect condition. I have photos to prove it. Also, Patio Warehouse gave me a bid. There was no case of them unwilling to take on this project.

Response from Patio Warehouse Inc
Patio Warehouse was unwilling to take this project because the customer was wanting to build the job on very unsafe conditions. She was wanting to install brand new Azek decking boards on 30 year old wood joists which were dry rotting. Patio Warehouse always builds to the highest quality and adheres to a strict safety policy. If other companies want to build out of code that is up to them.

Our experience with Patio Warehouse Construction was a pleasure from start to finish. We were told when we agreed to the project that they would not be able to start for about three weeks. That was fine with us. When the day came, the very professional workers arrived, removed the wood patio cover, replaced it with the aluminum one, ran electrical for lights on three posts, installed the lights, and cleaned up....all in 7 hours! Amazing! We love our new patio cover!
Description of Work: We have nothing but good things to say about this company and the work they provided for us. They tore down our existing wood patio cover and replaced it with an aluminum one. We were leery of switching to aluminum, but now would defy anyone to be able to tell the difference when looking at ours!

It was a hardscaping job. They quoted about $8000 for one job. They were the ones I liked on the first impression. It was not him but his partner who came out to give me a quote. He was here on time. He was pretty quite. He took the measurements quickly. He e-mailed the quote. I had to wait for it. The communication has been very basic but it is fine. We have not hired anybody yet and did not need the communication. He was responsive to my questions. I am considering using them.
