Description of Work: The company contacted me through Angie's List yesterday in order to schedule an appointment, so I assumed that they had not scheduled the appointment I had written in my appointment book. I was driving out my driveway when the tech arrived this morning. There was no business sign on his truck, nor did his shirt have an embroidered business name or name tag, nor did he introduce himself with a business card. I had to ask him who he was. He was a nice guy, and this is not his fault. It is the company owner's fault. The Tech was in the garage for five minutes. I did not have my Angie's List receipt with me, but when I returned home (the appointment was at a rental property) I checked the ad and I had been sold a "21-point safety inspection, lubricating all moving parts on door and opener, balancing the door for proper weight, tightening hinges and making minor adjustments". I don't know how anyone could do all of that in five minutes. He told me that the garage door motor is good but that the door needs springs, rollers, cables, drums, center bearings, and torsion tube, at a cost of up to $1,500. I appreciate the feedback, and again it is not the tech's fault that the advertising on Angie's List was false, but instead of the 21-point safety inspection and tune up that I was sold, his invoice listed a 14-point safety checklist which did not include the services mentioned in the Angie's List ad. If I'd needed a repair estimate, I could have obtained that for free.

+ -1 moreAppointment was made by calling them and they did show within the window. However, the guy who comes for initial inspection tries to talk you into replacement very quickly. The manner in which he talks is that he is providing quality stuff and rest all are providing s*** in comparison to him. He told me it would cost $800 to replace and when i told him, your site has a coupon for $300, he said he cannot honor this. It was my mistake I paid him so much money but later on talking to other companies maid me realise that he ripped me off. I called the company again and the owner later on honored the coupon. Again, I called him for replacing garage door opener to for a second chance and he tells me it would cost me $700 for top of line model. When I showed him, this can be done in $400 for top of line including labor, he seemed irritated. I did not do the service this time and would never call him in future again.

Description of Work: I hired the GD service to adjust my door which was binding. My handy neighbor fixed the door for me before I received a call from the service scheduler. The GD service understood and asked that I keep them in mind for future service. Angie's List cheerfully refunded my purchase. I will use this company in the future.

+ -1 moreOrdered the package through Angie's on Thursday June 11 and as always the promise is that the provider would contact me in two days. Two full business days pass and no contact at all. The following Tuesday, June 16, I received and email from Angie's inquiring if the provider contacted me and I replied no. That evening I received an email from the provider to reply with my phone number which I did immediately. Did not receive a call from the provider until Thursday, June 18 where we scheduled the service for Friday, June 19 between 3-6PM. Provider did not show up but did call around 6PM to say he was on his way but would not be able to get here until 7PM or even later because of traffic. At that point, we decided they were not reliable and would probably not do the job well after driving an additional hour+. We will request a refund.
Description of Work: Provider didn't do anything. Did not show up as promised.

+ -1 moreThe technician, Cody, came out to perform the work on the garage. He explained that the garage door is too heavy for the springs it was currently attached to and would not pull up. I have lived in this home for 10 years and the garage door has always worked fine with the springs as well as every other house in the neighborhood. After he performed the work and fixed the problem I decided to look at the garage. I found that the oil the technician used had somehow dripped down onto my garage door and stained my garage door. I contacted them to let them know about the issue they had caused and they told me they would be out the next morning between 9-12. I went out to perform errands at 8am the next morning, and they called me around 8:15am to tell me they were at my house and they would not be there at 9 like they had said. I rushed home to show them the issue and the stains. He blamed the issue on the manufacturers paint job, when it is obviously dripped onto my garage by their technician. The technician contacted his supervisor, John, and I explained the situation to him. He also told me it must be the primer or paint of the garage that caused the issue. Out of frustration i told the technician to put my garage down and leave. $538 and two weeks later my garage has stains all over it.
Description of Work: Requested the garage door tune up, two door garage would not lift up partially so they fixed the issue.

He evaluated the problem, explained what needed to be done (lubrication of upper and side tracks). He was professional and easy to talk to to get all of our questions about the door answered. I highly recommend this company. If we have problems with the garage door in the future, We will call them again. Thanks for the excellent service.
