Description of Work: Serviceman was clearly in over his head. Recommended springs larger than the ones on garage door, approximate cost $895. Called another service provider as needed another estimate. Turned out that the problem was not the size of the springs, problem was resolved for $210.

Description of Work: Was having a problem with garage door closing so I scheduled a tune-up. I purchased the tune-up from Angie's List and the company responded the next business day. The tech showed up on time and told me that the problem I had was from the sensors at the bottom of the door (one on each side). I had a feeling that that was the problem so I had the sensors replaced and the door closes with no problem. With the tune-up it no longer makes the awful noises it was making when closing and opening the door. I am one happy customer.

Description of Work: This was my first experience with Angie's list. The man who came to service our garage door was very knowledgeable. He did a really good job and made our noisy garage door smooth and quiet. He made some good recommendations for preventive work. Overall, I would definitely recommend them.

Description of Work: Person came out to tune up garage door. He quickly sprayed each hinge with some type of grease that he told me only professionals are allowed to get, and is not available to the public. He made some tiny adjustment on the overhead garage opener. I asked him where he did the tune up and he told me that the little adjustment he made was the tune up. He was there 5 minutes. He told me I needed a couple of rollers that were very expensive to replace and so I declined. The garage door sounded exactly like it did before he came when he left. Although it was only $39, because it was the special, I should have done it myself and got the results I wanted. Because he was there for only 5 minutes, I felt he should have had a better attitude and at least seen it from my perspective that, last year I was able to make it quiet when it sounded the same way, by spending a little more time on it. He saw it his way. I was not going to pay more for something I thought was unnecessary.
