GDI Garage Doors

Ryan the service tech was the man. He was prompt, professional and was not pushy. He performed the tune up, suggested new roller balls for the garage door and even entertained my 2-year old while he was doing it. The garage door works great, is much quieter and somehow the remote controls work now as well. Great experience overall.

First, I'm not sure I have the right company. The name on the the bill says "Anytime Garage Door Inc. DBA DGI Garage Doors" so I hope I'm giving credit where credit is due. The technicain was late but I was called ahead of time to let me know that would be the case. Other than that, it was a great experience. I've had my garage door maintenance done a couple of times before and the door worked marginally better when they finished but didn't seem to really run as smoothly as I thought it should. This time the technician, Sam, was great. He was very personable, explained every single thing without speaking down to me and, when he was done, my garage door has never run so quietly and smoothly. He took the time to go beyond just the maintenance and actually repostioned the arm attached to the door and now I feel that it will allow it to run much better forever. The other times I had maintenance done, it wasn't even suggested this might be an issue. So I'm very satisfied and would use this company again and would definitely request Sam. I hope they know what a great employee they have.

They were on time, professional, explained the deal (purchased from angieslist) and how long to complete. Provided very reasonable upgrade options such as a higher performance opener and an outside keypad which I took advantage of.

The tech arrived ten minutes early. Did the work that was necessary. Now the door working better than it ever has. He took his time to make sure I new how to use the features of the new opener.

I purchased the DEAL, and they contacted me promptly to make an appointment. They came the following Monday, and the technician arrived promptly. He couldn't install it because his usual installation (screws into wood) would not work. I asked him for suggestions, and he said if I had double sided tape he could. I don't have any. I asked him if he had any suggestions, and he reiterated that if I had tape he'd install it. I suggested that he should call his office for help. Then the office called saying they couldn't install it on my concrete wall. I reminded him he had not asked me about the wall construction, and he stated that it was rare, he had never heard of someone having a concrete house. I asked him for a suggestion, and he stated he COULD install it, just not for the DEAL price of $89. I asked him if he wanted to make a proposal. I pointed out that at least 10 neighbors had keyless entry systems installed on their concrete wall, so it must not be too rare. He said he would do it for $40, and the tech would have to to get a masonry drill bit, and come back later. I declined and asked him to refund my money. He said he couldn't do that either, I'd have to contact Angie's List to work it out. The most disappointing thing was their attitude. I would not want to speak to them again about garage doors. It's fine that the situation was different, but they could have proposed a solution, as the whining was a bit much. Besides, if it is so rare that he's never heard of it, then he probably should have cheerfully swallowed the $40 and chalked it up to experience, rather than have the unfortunate advertising due to my review that I assured him would be posted.

The service man was very professional and friendly. He explained everything in detail. I had the choice to fix the existing unit or to replace it. I just wish they had more options when it comes to choosing a garage door opener. The unit they carry was $599 and that's pretty high. I needed it replaced so I chose to replace the unit and they gave me a two year warranty. I just hope for that price, the unit will last a very long time.

He lubed the track and other moving parts. He adjusted the force. My garage door has never closed completely until he made that adjustment. He showed me how to maintain my garage door and the type, not the brand, of product I should use. He was very courteous and informative, and my garage door has never been quieter. I will definitely call them again.

At first I was worried that the price was going to be through the roof but Scott was very nice and explained all of my options. He replaced my old motor and did a safety check inspection to make sure everything else in the garage door worked. He cleaned a few of the moving parts and sprayed lubricant to help avoid friction. I am very happy with my service and product. Thank you GDI Garage!

The spring on my garage door snapped as I was opening my garage door to get to work on Saturday. I called GDI Garage Doors for repairs. I explained my situation and that I needed someone out as soon as possible. The person I spoke to at the office was very helpful and let me know they would have someone out within the next two hours. The technician showed up shortly after placing the call and quickly diagnosed which type of springs were the proper fit for my door, and also made some helpful recommendations to maintain upkeep on my motor and door. The technician was in and out in 30 minutes and I was on my way to work only one hour after calling the company. My overall experience with GDI was great from beginning to end. I will use them for any future garage door repairs that I need.

The installed two new brackets across the door to provide more stability. He then installed new springs and rollers on the door. I was a bit shocked when the bill for that service was over $500. That repair only lasted just over a year before I had some more balance problems with the door and it began to jam more often and I decided to replace the door, but I went with another company that was not going to over charge me for a common service.

Our 7+ year old Garage door was stuck shut. We didn't know why it had stopped working. There was an old "Wayne Dalton" sticker on the door from the original company that sold, installed and previously serviced the door. We called the number on the sticker to request service, but it was Seacoast that actually answered the phone. Apparently they either bought the old company or the phone number. Installer was polite, arrived promptly and installed 2 garage door torsion springs. He knew what he was doing, finished up quickly and carted off the old springs . No problems. Usually I shop with coupons and check businesses out on Yelp or BBB before they come to the house. This time I didn't until afterwards. Maybe I should have--but unlike some others -- our experience with Seacoast has been good so far.

They were very nice. It was the son of the owner who came out. They did a great job. They even come back & make adjustments as needed.

When the call came telling me the door dude was going to be late, I was beginning to wonder if I should have done more research. Then, when Sam The Garage Man drove up I became more confident. Friendly, knowledgable and quick.All this started with a call to the number on my garage door. I had Googeled the brand for a key pad without much luck. "No Problem," the operator said, "they have them and they are only $45, just stop in." I pointed out the shop was over an hour away from San Marcos and he said he would have someone drop it off. "Today, tomorrow, when do you want it?" I set up for late afternoon, re-confirmed the total price and methods of payment. Great service.Sam was late because of a hangup at a previous customer. He showed me the key pad then gave a higher price. I declined and he contacted the "office" and they agreed to honor the price I was given. Installation was quick.Seacoast has bought and tied together a lot of good SoCal garage door companies, centralizing communications, warehousing, training and marketing. The result is a great service organization with professionals like Sam. Sam's very obvious talents are in marketing and customer service.Sam and I are both new to North County and chatted about how great the area is.I highly recommend Seacoast Garage Door and will use them any time I need help

I called for a garage door service in my area. Did phone calls to a few companies with my issue of cutting down a purchased garage door opener. They were the only ones that stated to have experience with my model and reported a slightly cheaper cost for a new garage door opener with installation (300) than other providers. Upon the technician showing up for the service, he showed up on time and was courteous. He let me know that I could purchase from them garage door openers that would allow my system to work. I went ahead and wen with that option because he told me his dispatcher told him to charge 300 for the opener and 95 dollars for install. I purchased the openers and after using them the next day found that they did not open the door all the time and sometimes I had to take the door opener off my visor and out my window for it to activate my garage door to open. I called to complain and requested a return, but they said they would not accept a return on this item where on their service contract it nowhere states that they do not accept returns.

I had a bad experience with another garage door service company refusing to honor their lifetime warranty on my garage door lift and also trying to sell me new equipment. When I called North County Garage Door, I wanted a second opinion. When Danny came out, he described a simple fix for a reasonable price. Instead of trying to get the problem fixed using the warranty through the equipment manufacturer, LiftMaster, I chose to just pay Danny to fix it and be done with it. The door has been working great ever since. I?m a big fan of good and bad karma. I feel sorry for the other company ? their lack of integrity and honor will one day catch up with them. I?m also very happy to have met someone as honorable as Danny from North County Garage Door Company ? his praiseworthy integrity and work ethics will one day guide his hand to wining set of lottery numbers.

They are a good company and provide good value. Overall, I had a positive experience with them. They were friendly and did a good job. I would rate them highly.

After a quick fix made that first visit failed, called him back. While responsive, not at all convinced with recommended long term fix.

The work done by them was pretty good. The weather stripping ended up being the wrong fit for our garage. So, it ended up falling off later that day, but they came back to replace it again and that wasn?t a problem. They didn?t charge us anything for coming back. I paid about $101 for their service.

Good. They were able to come out quickly after my 1st request call.

Installation went fine. They are very experienced and professional. They have done most of the garage doors in our 255 unit condo. Their doors must be cleaned often or they will rust. They blame the paint, not the door. As we are on the ocean, this is probably the biggest factor.

They provided honest service at a good price. I spent about $4500 on the job. They are a value-oriented family business. I will use them again in the future.

North County Garage Door had great customer service and did good work. They ordered the new garage door quickly, and came out to install it as soon as it arrived.

They did a very good job and were professional. We worked with them on what we wanted. We bought the garage door from them and they installed it.

Jim was scheduled to come at 9AM, was able to change it to 9:30 AM bec of delay in our chores. He came right on time, showed me that the existing door was still working. He got to the heart of the problem, which was the electric eyes at the bottom of the door, and spent about 90 minutes working hard to get them working again, which he did. He could have charged more, but didn't.
