We loved them. The manager's name is Tony. We are not done doing business with them. They were awesome. We went to the store and I knew specifically what I was looking for in terms of furniture right down to the brand and model which was helpful. I knew what it was priced at various other places. Tony was able to give us a substantial discount over his competitors. The furniture was ordered from the manufacturer. It was delivered on time. It was delivered to our home and set up by the drivers. The drivers were great about moving them in and setting it up properly. We had one piece that didn't fit the way we had hoped. Tony was very gracious and making arrangements for us to make another selection and picking up that piece. It was above and beyond what he had to do according to the agreement that we signed. Even though it was a custom piece, he worked with us on it. So I can't say enough about that store. I would buy every piece of furniture that I needed through them if I could. The store was absolutely nothing to look up. It was run down and shabby. But what they were able to do and how they did it was amazing. They don't warehouse a lot in their store. Their store is not a good representation of what they could do for us. He had accounts with not just major but also with smaller manufacturers. He had catalogues, books and everything that we could work out which we want. He was right there on the spot to make the deal with us. My dining room alone saved us $500 over the competitors. i would recommend them to anyone.

After seeing the furniture we wanted at a different store I called Al's to see if they carry that brand and model. The man on the phone, who is Al's son, said yes, they could get that furniture for us. He went through the prices for me so I could compare them to the other location. The prices were very low so of course I was happy, but double checked with him to make sure we were talking about the same furniture. He confirmed the model numbers and prices. The following weekend we went to order the furniture and when we got there the prices were significantly different from what was quoted on the phone. It was still lower than the other place, but since we had a budget we weren't able to get all the pieces we wanted. I understand that mistakes happen, but that's why I asked him to reconfirm the prices over the phone, so I couldn't help but feel a little taken when suddenly the prices were quite a bit higher. The delivery people were very nice and professional. They did a great job putting the pieces together and were spot on time.

They had a limited selection. The sales floor was very messy. I would not recommend them. It was a dumpster dive.

We first found Al's Discount Furniture about 2 months ago when we were looking for a bedframe and nightstands. We weren't impressed with the store particularly because it is a little run-down, however, we were impressed with the salespeople who were genuinely friendly, helpful, and not pushy. We didn't see anything we liked that day, but the salesman who helped us encouraged us to give them a call if we found anything we liked elsewhere, promising to give us a better price. When we found something we liked at a store in San Diego, we decided to go back to Al's to see if they could really offer us that particular model AND give us a good price. Not only did Al's beat the best price we had found anywhere (we'd searched online for the model, too) by a lot, but they assured us that the set we were ordering was made out of hardwood and not particleboard as some of the models we'd seen online were. They cut their regular delivery fee, despite the fact that our bedroom was upstairs, and assured us that delivery included set up. On the day of delivery, they called 20 minutes before their arrival and then arrived on time. They delivered the entire set (bedframe and two nightstands), unpacked, set everything up, and took away all of the trash in less than 40 minutes. The deliverymen were professional, quick, and respectful. When we need furniture in the future, we will definitely return.
