Description of Work: I had a large living room (two-story cathedral ceiling, but we didn't need to repaint the ceiling), dining room, downstairs entry, two story stair well (with high ceiling), and upstairs hall. Tall living room windows (nearly two story with 8"x12" individual panels separated by steel frames (they were a mess). Large areas of new plaster in the living room which needed priming prior to painting. All in all, a huge amount of prep work (three days) prior to being able to paint. There was considerable amount of tedious trim work to do, large walls (flat paint), and an accent wall in the living room above the fireplace. All received two coats of paint (plus priming where necessary). Although I gulped at the bid, in retrospect, it was worth every penny of it! Bottom line: Amando and Jose (the crew that was doing the work) are the absolute Gold Standard of Painters. (And I have had other professional painters work in the house. Additionally, I enjoy DIY painting work.) They were clean and tidy, took pains to do the "little things" to make my life easier while they were working, replaced all furniture, odd-ball hardware (my house is 75 years old and has "interesting" hardware), knew how to work with plaster, and were generally all-around nice guys to share my house with. I absolutely would use them again!

 + -1 moreThey did a good job. I did feel a little pressured to get the job done quickly and make a decision. I also think the price was a little higher than I could have gotten. They work crew was friendly and respectful of my space and time. In general we had a really good experience.

 + -1 moreOutstanding Job. Jay Fulong and Sego of Stanford Painting deserve the compliments. Estimate was detailed and clear. Job started as scheduled. Job concluded exactly after 5 working days as promised. Due to rain the crew was not able to work for two day, but made it up on a Saturday and finished in exactly 5 days. Color consultation was simple and not all over the map. Crew was extremely professional and detailed. Crew arrived on time each morning. Each day everything was neatly organized and covered. Upon completion crew returned everything to its original location. I was impressed. Rarely does one retain the services of a contractor who dedicates a crew to one job and follows the promised schedule. Quality of job was outstanding.

 + -1 moreVery responsive from the first call. They were able to start our job the following week. It took 5 days to do all the prep and painting, and in the end, it was an excellent job. Our HOA had chosen new paint colors, and we chose a base and trim selection that hadn't been used before. Big mistake. Once the job was finished, we hated the trim color. It wasn't the painters' fault. We had them repaint the trim, which took another 2.5 days. The house looks great! They cleaned up completely when the job was finished.

 + -1 moreA crew of 4 people (1 foreman + 3 others) spent 5 days from 7am to 4pm painting the exterior and partial interior. There was also a supervisor that came to check the progress and quality of the work. I saw the supervisor commenting on the work as it was progressing. They spent a lot of time prepping for the painting. They needed to seal the wood, etc... They also provided input on the color combinations and finishes. I spent a bit of time trying to pick colors at the local Kelley Moore store. The cost of the paint samples and paint out on a 8x10 board were included in the cost of the job. At the end, I was pleased with the work. It was done per the schedule and cost they quoted. I received estimates from a few other vendors and they were on the high side but the price was negotiable. It still came out more than the other vendors but if you calculate the material cost, crew size, and days on the jobs, I thought it was reasonable. Add on the quality and professionalism that can't be quantified in dollars, I know I made the right choice.

 + -1 moreThey came out right away for an estimate, and got started the next day. Came out with a team of four painters. Some on the team were more skilled than the others. The quality was generally good. I pointed out some places that needed to be touched up, and they sent someone out to do these. I think they underestimated the job. It took one entire day longer then expected. Upon the completion, Frank told me the job was an extra $500 due to extra costs. When I asked what those costs were, they seemed unreasonable to me. For example, in one room I asked them to do only the trim because I am wallpapering it. They did not "see" the windows in the room when providing me the estimate so wanted to charge me extra to do the trim on the windows. They also wanted to charge me extra to do the baseboard in one room where I had asked them to paint the entire room. I said I didn't think I should pay that, and they were fine with that.

 + -1 moreExcellent service and communication. Responded to a bid request in one day with pricing provided on the spot. Was willing to start a crew early the following week but had to wait due to our own scheduling conflicts. On the first day, the work crew removed remaining large pieces of furniture from the room(s), ensured all windows, etc. were taped and covered prior to starting. A separate work area was set up outside of home with their tools, paints, etc. and everything was left as neat (as possible!) each night. Job progress was obvious on a daily basis and a crew of 4 were here every day on time. The supervisor called with questions when they arose and the job ended exactly on time. Both the ceiling and the cabinets got 3-4 coats of primer and paint. Excellent work was completed on both pieces of the job.
Description of Work: Two jobs completed: 1. Caulk and paint a dark, tongue and groove wood ceiling white. Sloped ceiling - ranges from 8 to 15 feet high. Needed cleaned, prepped and painted white. 2. Paint well worn oak kitchen cabinets including doors, drawer fronts, and front facing parts. Needed cleaned, primed, filled in spots, and painted to be used for a few more years.
