BEWARE!
We were very grateful to have same-day service both times, because we were in the middle of a heat wave, and going without A/C during that time would've been a nightmare. On the first trip, he told us that we had a A/C system larger than our house really needed, but that just meant we'd stay cool. He said the compressor would probably go out. He replaced a fuse, a run capacitor, and the indoor thermostat (?).
On the second trip, he replaced the fuse, but this time he said the system was too large for the house, causing the A/C to short cycle. He wrote down that our compressor was damaged, and we needed a completely new unit. Ours is a partnered A/C and Heater. He said they run about $5800, but he'd install it for $5400.My husband and I said we'd have to think about it, since it would be such a large expense.
HOWEVER, after getting a FREE second opinion from another family-owned A/C, who has been in business for over 40 years, we found out many disturbing things:
1. The compressor was NOT damaged
2. The A/C was NOT too large for the house (but whenever we replace it in the future, we may consider a smaller unit)
3. The indoor thermostat didn't need to be replaced.
4. Yourk charged us about 2-1/2 times more than the 2nd opinion company would have, and he said, and quot; We're not an inexpensive provider, but even WE wouldn't charge the prices you were charged by Yourk.and quot; He called his offer to confirm what they would charge, and it was 2-1/2 times LESS than Yourk.
Again, I didn't give Yourk an overall F, because he was able to come out the same day, and we would've paid almost anything to get the A/C running again. But consider this: The 2nd opinion company A/C asked for a copy of the receipts I got from Yourk, because he wanted to show his staff what kind of operations were out there in their service areas. Sorry, Mike from Yourk, but there's no need to be a and quot;sharkand quot; in this Valley. People are more than willing to pay a fair price for a job well done.

We were glad he was able to show up when it was so hot, but I'm concerned we were being set up to be sold an entire new system. After getting a second opinion from a reputable long time company, we found out there were unnecessary services performed, and there's NOTHING wrong with our system, which Yourk wanted to replace for a "discounted" price of $5400! It's pretty sad that there are companies out there, especially when they are on Angie's List. People are willing to pay a fair price for a fair job, so there's no need to treat people this way.

My new air conditioner is working wonderful and Mike Yourk was here less than three hours.Other companies quoted 5,000.00 for the same unit. Very professional and he did everything he said he was going to do. I would recommend Mike to everyone!!

They were excellent. I went through a lot of estimates and they were the best company for the job. They showed up on time and they were friendly.
