It went better then I Expected. They told me it would take up to 3 days, but they came in and had it completely re-piped in like 9 hours and came back the next day and patched the walls. Very good work and cleaned everything up each day. They also financed the work, no interest for 12 months.

Great job! I had very old galvanized pipes in my home, the water was practically unusable. It was rust colored and had a tangy taste, we were spending $50 a month in filtered water. They guaranteed me a very short turn around time in fixing my plumbing. And they delivered! Finally the water in my home is back to normal. These guys are truly one of the best companies I’ve ever hired to do work, very affordable too. Happy I went with them.

My boss recommended this company as they had just done a fantastic job on his 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home. The plumbing in my home was about 50 years old, there were many leaks. In addition to foul tasting water, the water pressure in both my showers was unbearable. I called them up and spoke to John, who was very honest in presenting the facts. And how Repipe Specialists is different than using a plumber, as Repipe Specialists only specializes in repiping. I felt very comfortable in going with them as opposed to the plumbers I spoke to. Repipe Specialists quote was nearly ½ the cost of another plumber quote I got. They gave me a very detailed quote of all the work that was gonna be done, the salesman even walked me through all the steps they were going to do throughout my house. I was a little worried opening the walls and how much dust was going to get brought into the house. But he assured me they would take precautions so that wouldn?t happen. Within a week of agreeing to the quote, they were out at my house and began work. I was shocked at how quickly they worked, I figured it would be a 1-2 week project but thankfully they were done within just a couple days on the repipe side and then inspection and patching took another day each. After they were done they walked me through the house and showed me the work they did for each part of the quote I received. Everything was perfect, I?m glad my boss recommended this company. Thank you!

My wife had been complaining about the water pressure in our master bathroom, for a long time. I didn?t do anything about it because the quotes I was getting from plumbers was much more than our budgeted price range. I did a bit of research on the internet and found Repipe Specialists. I had one of their salesmen out and spoke to for almost 90 minutes and got all the details of what they would be doing and how much it would cost me. Frankly, the price surprised me and even better, was within the budget we had. My wife was worried about them making holes in the wall, but part of the deal is they completely repatch the walls when they?re done. A work crew showed up the following Tuesday and were completely done with the whole process by Friday. The water pressure in my shower was 10x better, and my wife was pleased. Our water even tastes better. Very happy with this service.

Made an appointment for Friday August 16 at 7 PM. I received a confirmation phone call the day before. I left my job early to be home for the appointment as did my husband. That means we both lost money leaving our jobs early. Plus I am a nurse and had to find staff to cover my patients. At 7PM , just the time the tech was supposed to be at our house he calls and says he is running late and is near LAX (!!) and will be late. (I live miles from LAX.......) Is it ok if he arrives at 8PM or later. I was very angry and disappointed and told the tech this was unacceptable service. How could he even see what to repipe in the dark at 9PM or 8PM I wonder???? WHy waste your time with this kind of customer service....

Dear [removed member name], We are sorry that we ran late for the appointment, however as you know our representative did call you prior to the appointment time of 7pm to let you know that he was in fact running late. While we try to be as punctual as possible, and many times we go out of our way to try to be early, LA traffic can be quite unpredictable, especially on a Friday evening. We were perfectly willing to come to your house, and our representative was equipped with a flashlight more than sufficient to see anything that he might have needed to in the dark, but he was not able to speak to you over your upset on expressing how other plumbers had been late to your house as well and then hung up the phone on him. As for additional info on looking at the house at 8pm, in the winter time, we do at least 2 estimates per day in the dark so it is not an unusual nor difficult circumstance. Additionally, when we repipe either under a house or in the attic it is a dark place and we must be able to effectively operate in this environment. I understand that you will be looking for another company to repipe and I simply give you this information so that you can operate with it when working with them. I do hope that you find a company you can be happy with. Best regards, Jeff Butler

The receptionist said someone would call me back later that day. I did not hear back, so I phoned again the next day. She said she would pass along the message again. Two weeks have passed and no call back. Why do they bother advertising in the Angie's List magazine, if they don't even return your calls?

[member name removed], My understanding is that you were interested in simply doing the main line from the street to the house and didn’t yet have the money for a full repipe. We specialize in full house repipes (and don't do main lines only) and it was our receptionist's understanding that you didn’t want someone to come out for the service we provide. It is true that your name and number were passed along to an estimator to try to provide some free advice over the phone and he did not call. Even if he had called, unfortunately we still would not be able to provide the service you are in need of. I believe a local plumber may be able to assist you with what you need. I was extremely satisfied with them. I just can't say enough about the great job they did, the price, and how efficient they were. It was a very positive experience. I was dreading it but it was a delight to work with them. The price was great. It was just perfection. They were so willing to please the customer. They kept asking me where I wanted it. They were just really focused on customer support. Even the inspector that came through said it was a pretty good job. So I was very, very pleased with them. I can't say enough about Repipe Specialists. I was very, very pleased with the service and the quality of the work They did exceed my expectations. I didn't think a plumbing job that complex could have that quality. The guys had to find the gas line. They found a place in the attic where they could tie into it and bring it down. Everything was totally seamless. That was a very good experience. I got the discounts. I got the No BS promotional price. It's a 1500 square foot home. There was no playing games with price. It was extremely good. The quality of the work was exceptional. They came when they said they were going to be there. They were here 10 hours a day. They came in, opened the walls and did all the plumbing. The closure guys came and did a good job with the drywall, too.
Description of Work: Repipe Specialists repiped my whole house. The whole repiping was about $5500 and then I had a tankless hot water heater put in and they did that for about $2700-$3100.

The bidding went well. Their salesman convinced me of their quality and I compared to another well-known repiper. With everything appearing equal in quality, a decent price savings became the deciding factor. When I made the decision, I called the salesman. He didn't return the call after 3 days, which is hard to understand. We eventually heard from the scheduler, who scheduled it the following Monday when I would be leaving town (we planned it this way) meaning my wife would be managing the project. The entire crew arrived Monday morning and told my wife they had to test for asbestos and lead because of the age of the house (we had specifically asked about this during the sales pitch and were told it was not an issue). They cut a large chunk of ceiling and scratched some paint from the wall and said they'd return with results, and that it would cost $350 extra. I was ready to shut off my phone on the airplane when I heard of this and called the salesman. We heard NOTHING back and finally called Tuesday afternoon. They told us they wouldn't have lab results until Thursday. I returned Thursday night and we left together for another trip over the weekend. We got a call from them to reschedule the FOLLOWING Friday, and also received word that the asbestos test wasn't required and allegedly that's what was told to my wife. They agreed to split the cost on the test, on the condition that we'd have the results for any future needs (which we received after some delay). I told them Friday was too late to leave our cabinet contents all over the house, and threatened to yank the contract. We finally got a cancellation that allowed them to start the following Wednesday. Once they started, the work was excellent. They needed to go further in the drain than originally thought, but didn't cost that much and I couldn't promise that anyone else would have been able to predict any differently, so no complaints there. We're supposed to get the inspection report, and still don't have it. It seems their biggest issue is not quality of work, but communication! The quality is high, and they are highly rated, so my recommendation would just be to get your answers in writing and ask EXACTLY how long it will take and if there will be a discount if it misses a deadline.

The first thing I liked about the company is the representative they sent out for the estimate took his time and explained everything to me. They set up a time to complete the work. They showed up on time with a crew. The crew was very hard working and completed the job by the end of the work day. They cleaned up after themselves. After getting approval from the city there drywall crew came out the next day and completed all the drywall work. I would definitely hire them again.

The whole process was carried out professionally and with great workmanship. I still find it hard to believe that such a major job was done so well and so quickly
Description of Work: My house was in escrow and required a complete copper repipe, not only to please me, but also the buyer. A company representative visited my home, gave me a quote, and patiently dealt with the buyer when they kept changing their mind about upgrading some faucets. The repiping was done in one day by a crew of four. The next day, 2 men came to patch the stucco and plaster the walls. I honestly cannot believe that anyone could have done a better job.

They did everything they said they were going to do and did it lighting fast. The crew was also friendly which helps since you've got strangers tearing up your walls. Spoke with Michael to get the quote and sales pitch, and Bill was in charge of the crew ( he was only their for a brief period). Both Michael and Bill were easy to work with and appeared willing to always answer any questions. The only issues I had were minor. They were a little messy like leaving some dark stains on my carpet and walls. I guess it didn't matter since I was going to repaint the walls and change to hardwood, but they didn't know that, so I thought it was a little sloppy. They also didn't peel the "sticker" on the insulation meaning they weren't tightly on the pipes. To me, that just seems little like they cutting corners to get it done quick. On the tankless installation, I had it installed on the exterior and they left about four feet of piping exposed and they were crooked. All that piping doesn't look nice and all the pipes don't run parallel to each other adding to the eyesore. They could've run most of the piping in the wall and exposed a lot less piping. I gave them a C (fair) in quality mainly because of the tankless install. I have to stare at those crooked pipes everyday I walk outside. Those pipes are unsightly and I did mention they were unsightly and they didn't offer to fix them (I'm not going to ask them to redo something when it functions properly). I wish they would've offered though. Just remember to ask them to keep as much piping in the walls if you do a tankless water heater. Again, overall they were decent and I would use them again. They did the job they said they were going to do and it was satisfactory. But on a general note, the more contractors I use, it seems like no one really goes above and beyond anything anymore, and do things like pay attention to the details. It's more about getting the work done quick. Nothing against Repipe-1, just a thought in general.

They did a complete repipe of my three bath house. The price above included patching and texturing. I have a two story house and there was a lot walls that needed to be opened up. They showed up on time with four guys and knocked it out in one day. Texture was the same thing, four guys one day. They are ok at texturing not the best I've ever seen but passable. You do have to stay on them to make sure all the work will be done as the sale man promises. I guess its human nature to see how much you can get away with. They use sub contractors, mine was Number 1 State Plumbing. Once you sign up all of you questions and warranty will be handled through the sub contractor, which the Repipe Specialists will call "the shop." Bottom lines is that you cant beat these guys on price and they do a good job. They did a two story house from the main on with 5 sinks, 3 toilets, 2 showers, washer, water heater, 2 shower fixtures and valves, and a pressure regulator in Type L American made copper for $6300.

We have an all tile floor downstairs and normally we always wear slippers. I went downstairs to the laundry room barefooted to get some fresh clothes and the entire floor felt hot. Our house is built on a slab and I knew it could mean only one thing. I went out to the backyard and found a puddle of hot water. I had heard a radio add for Copper Repipe Specialists and called. Someone was out the next day to check my problem out. He was on time, friendly and explained everything that would happen from start to finish. He explained how they would run the pipe from the source to the furthist bathroom and patch the walls when they were done. I feld confident I had made the right choice. The crew came out on a day that was conveinent for me and was done in one day. The city inspector was out the next day and approved the work. The following day their patching crew came in and patched the walls and ceilings. (We have textured walls and ceilings and we were afraid that anyone could tell we had work done.) I waited for a few days to let the plaster dry, then painted. I was amazed how closely the texture matched the original. From start to finish, Repipe Specialist did everything as they promised. They arrived on time, covered everything, and cleaned up when they were done. I'm glad I made the call.

The price went up several hundred dollars because we had them put in a hot water circulator to get immediate hot water to all of our faucets. This added $7-$800. They had to cut a lot of holes in the walls to go to the old pipes. They showed up on time and worked hard. Nobody was lying around. I would recommend them but I would also recommend getting other estimates. Steve, the supervisor, has been extremely good in making sure that everything gets done right and in working with us. He has been there to see that we are satisfied. They set up the job and used subcontractors that only work for them to do the actual repiping. They could have done a better clean up job but it was okay. If I were to gripe about it, they would take care of it. I didn?t get other estimates but I would in the future. I don?t believe there are very many companies that actually only do repiping. The reason we went with them is because they are dedicated to only repiping.
Description of Work: We are using Repipe Specialists and they are completing the job now. The repiping is done and they are working on another job. The guy that is patching the holes is doing that now. They have completely repiped all of the incoming plumbing both hot and cold from the city source. They are using copper. It included new shut off fixtures and new valves under the sinks and toilets.

Steve and his crew of four arrived at my house at 9:30 AM. He explained to me the best way he would do the job. Since I have no experiance with this work, I was asking Steve questions as the job proceded. He would stop his work and explain the situation. Since drywall had to be cut to install the new copper piping, tarps and plastic sheets had to be used to keep dust and debris in the work area. Steve also installed a new water pressure regulator and new main water shut-off valve at no additional fee. After all work was completed and the debris cleaned up, the water was turned on. The small leak at the water regulator was corrected. Water was turned off for about one hour during the cutover from the existing water line to the new water line. Passed inspection! P.S. My neighbor hired Re-pipe Specialists after seeing the work at my house.
Description of Work: Re-piped entire two story house with type L grade copper pipe in one day. Included in the job: insulated exposed hot and cold water lines, all new water supply lines to hot water heater, bathroom sinks, toilet and kitchen fixtures. A new water pressure regulator and new facets at the clothes washer plus front and rear yards. New fixtures and showerheads in shower and bathtub in both bathrooms. Secured water heater with earthquake strapes and replaced pressure relief valve tubing. All the work areas were cleaned up after all work was complete. I did not contract for drywall repair. Permits were included in the price.

The original repipe was in 2006 but the recent work was in 2009. The repipe, water heater and filter hook up all went very well. Steve seemed good to work with. The price, time and materials were all very good. Once they have your money, you may not get good service. 3 years after the repipe I was under the house and noticed that they only insulated about 1/2 of the hot water pipes. I called and left messages and finally was called once by Steve and told someone would call and come out. After a few weeks went by with no one calling or coming out to take care of it, I had to threaten to call the CSLB and file for taking money out of their bond so that I could pay someone else to fix their error. I would have been more patient but by my previous experience with them I knew I had to threaten them. At the time of the original repipe, they put in new valves for 2 showers but the cover plate was not used and instead they used a larger cover plate to cover holes in the tile. I asked them to give me the original cover plates that came with the valve so that when I retile the showers I could use that smaller more attractive plate. I finally gave up on getting them after 2 calls to the sales person went unanswered and 2 calls to the office person who showed no interest in helping and after Steve kept telling me he had lots of them and would drop them at my doorstep. One day the doorbell rang and a small, withered, frail old homeless man was at my door. I noticed it said repipe specialist on his shirt. I swear I'm not exaggerating when I say I thought he was homeless. It was the morning and I thought I smelled alcohol on his breath, he needed a shower and fresh cloths big time and his mini van looked like he lived in it. None of the original workers looked like this so I don't know what to say about their workers at this point. Never received a follow up call, apology or other consolation.

Repipe Specialist replaced my pipes in March 2003. My house has only 1 bath and has a raised floor so all of the pipes are accessible in the crawl space under the house. All repiping work was completed in a single day. The wall patching and filling in the trench in my front yard were also completed in a single day - after the city inspection. Note that the price I paid above was based on 2003 prices for copper pipe. On the day they replaced the pipes, the crew arrived in the morning and started digging a trench in my front yard to replace the existing pipe, cutting holes in the walls where new shutoff valves were to be installed, and cutting out the old pipe underneath my house. After demolition, the plumbers moved in and started cutting and soldering the new pipes into place. I could hardly believe they were done when I heard them start filling the new water heater at 4 PM. They were very fast. I really like the ball valves that they installed for the main house shutoff, and all of the interior shutoff valves in the house. They also gave me an extra shutoff valve in front of my house to shut off water to the automatic sprinklers without affecting water flow to the house. The extra valve was not in the contract, and it was a welcome addition. After the inspection, the wall patching guys were real pros. Many of my walls have plasterboard installed over the top of the old lathe and plaster, making patching of walls very tricky. When these guys were done and I repainted where they had patched, you couldn't even tell where the walls had been cut in all 4 of the places that had been opened up. The guys who refilled the trench in the front yard were also very good. You could not tell where the trench had been dug a week later. I learned a lot about trenching for when I replace my own automatic sprinkler pipe by watching these guys work. I encountered only 2 problems: The new pipe entered my house in a slightly different place than the old pipe, and that created problems with the ground wire from my electrical box. The inspector pointed it out and made them make some changes, but it was never really resolved. My bath tile was falling off before the repipe started. After I had the wall and tile replaced, the pipe and fitting that they had installed for the bath spigot were too short. Even though this was 2 months later, I called and asked them to fix it. They sent someone that same day to resolve the problem.
Description of Work: Repipe Specialists replaced all of my in-flow plumbing pipes from the water meter at the curbing to all of the taps with copper pipes. The old pipes were decades-old galvanized pipes. The contract included new shutoff valves, replacement of the water heater, and re-patching my walls after the piping was installed.

I was very frustrated after speaking with them. The woman I spoke with over the phone was not very pleasant, was not very helpful and wouldn't let me speak with anyone else. I would not use them.
Description of Work: Called them an estimate (on copper piping work).

Response from Repipe Specialists Inc
Please note that the comments from this customer are based solely on a phone call made to our office to inquire about a repipe. No work was actually performed. And while I am sorry that the call did not go well, grading our company with an "F" is unfair and inappropriate. Joe Luca General Manager
