About us

Fuller Handyman Service is a family-run company service the cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City, since 1986. In 2017, we expanded to cover Hayward, Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, and the Central Valley. For the last 30+ years, we have specialized in home repairs. Our goal is to provide quality, professional service to each of our customers. We have received the Angie's List Super Service Award, awarded to businesses with the top 5% of positive customer reviews, for eight years running. We offer appointments by the hour for small miscellaneous projects and free estimates for larger jobs or repairs you'd like to get a second opinion on before making any decisions. The hourly charge is $150 for the first hour and $60 per subsequent half hour. The hourly rate includes the work of two men. Materials are an additional charge, but they are provided at cost with no markup. Fuller Handyman Service is licensed by the Contractors State License Board and each of the cities in which we do business. We are also bonded and insured. Description of Work: I needed help with a pocket door which was off the track as well as replacement of a bedroom door and frame. The office responded within an hour of my email and set up an appointment for the next day to review scope and provide estimate. David Fuller was able to repair the pocket door for me during that visit and provided me with an estimate on the other door the next evening.

We are not legally allowed to operate in any city in which we do not hold a business license. Again, I do apologize for that inconvenience, but if you would reconsider your review or think about removing it altogether, I would greatly appreciate it. We do our best to meet our customers' needs, but doing business in a city illegally is not an option for us. I hope that you will be able to find another provider who does service your area. Description of Work: No service was ever performed, because the business never responded to phone calls. The credential given to this company by Angie's List is unwarranted. I chose to call this company based on the Angie's List rating, and yet this company never called back repeated phone calls. This was a few months ago (possibly March), and I called on a Friday and left a message. When I didn't hear from them, I called on Saturday, hoping they might work on Saturdays. I still got just an answering machine, but I left another message anyway. Thinking it was understandable that I would not get a timely response because I was calling over a weekend, I called again on Monday. I left another message, since no one answered the phone. But I never got a response from them from any of these messages. Never. A representative from Angie's List called me to ask about things, and I'd already reported this to them by phone. Hopefully you will downgrade this business, it does not deserve the rating. It would be decent to call back a customer to let them know you are too busy, if that is the case.

You mentioned not receiving a call back in March and that rang a bell, so I looked you up in our message archives. We did receive your call and made a few dozen attempts to reach you. I called multiple times a day for about three weeks, but I wasn't able to get through to you. The line was busy each time. I contacted Angie's List and asked them at that time if they had another way of contacting you, so that they could ask you to send us another way to get in touch with you. Unfortunately, they didn't have any additional information on record. At that point, there was nothing else we could do. I am so sorry for the frustration this caused you. We're not certain what happened in this case. If your line isn't busy often, it is possible that we may have copied down your number incorrectly. If that's the case, I am extremely sorry.
