Description of Work: Arnold rescued you me after being ripped off by a bad contractor, so I was very meticulous and he did a great job and manage me and the job.

Description of Work: Hung several curtain rods and a light fixture. The wood was very old and the hardware needed to be installed in the wall and not the woodwork. He was very careful to not damage the old wood and attach hardware to studs and not just any where in the plaster. He also took extra care to not be messy.

Description of Work: Changed out several light fixtures and a chandelier and replaced flourescent tubes in kitchen ceiling(large kitchen.Mr. Huber is extremely busy so you have to wait quite a while to get him. He is on the expensive side. HOWEVER-He is very honest and pleasant-easy and trustworthy to have in your home. He is meticulous about his person and his work. The work is quality thru and thru.We have called him before and we will again. Swiss Handyman is a quality business.

Description of Work: Two Miele washing machines not installed correctly a few years back--one starting to tip forward out of its undercounter spot. Arnold identified the exact problem with the original install and a simple solution with no need to rebuild any of the side cabinetry. He is extremely meticulous and knowledgeable. You get what you pay for--hourly pricing is market for a professional, licensed contractor (bonded, workers comp, liability insurance), so do not expect to pay the cut-rate pricing that is readily available in Los Angeles. But if you want the job right the first time with all the details addressed, this is your guy.

Description of Work: I emailed this outfit to do work on a small apt house we own. I contacted them because their listing says they are insured, and we won't hire uninsured workers. "Christine" responded to my email stating that they don't like to work on income property because "landlords always want the cheapest possible job done as fast as possible" and "we work only on high-end properties." Our building is in Beverly Hills -- not high-end enough?? This snide and judgmental attitude on the part of people who supposedly have a service to sell shocked me. I advise Angie's List members to avoid "Swiss Handyman", unless they want to be insulted and stereotyped by a very rude individual.

Description of Work: We have a chest of drawers that kept sticking, we asked the Swiss handyman to help. The gentleman corrected the problem. Best of all, he left the area as clean as he found it and we've haven't had the problem again.

Description of Work: Installed sunsetter blinds and painted home areas.

Description of Work: Had them install an inwall TV system that included wiring a new jack, framing, plastering and some other small jobs like plumbing, curtain installation and the like. My Dad had them remodel an entire bathroom which turned out to be a much bigger and more difficult job than planned. Might have thrown less skilled workers, but not Swiss Handyman. They do great work, pay attention to detail and communicate well. The only rub is the price which is worth it if you're doing a big, important job like a bathroom remodel cuz they're bonded and self-insured. For little jobs that could arguably fall in the DIY category, a bit expensive. If ur the better safe than sorry type, its worth having ur mind at ease. If ur main concern is the bottom line, use them only for the big stuff, the stuff that if it goes wrong ends up on a show with Mike Holmes. If ur flush, use them for everything!

Description of Work: met with tenants on appointment and were professional. replaced bathroom sink cabinet and put in new electrical sub panel adding circuit and breaker. excellant communications and office support.

Description of Work: I originally had Arnold give me an estimate to fix cabinets that were falling down, in my studio. He did make it clear that it might be less expensive to tear them all down and have them rebuilt. It wound up costing much more than I anticipated spending , but they did a really terrific job. My only disappointment was that there was some painting surrounding the cabinets which they did not address (after I was told that they would). I wound up hiring them to do some more handyman type work for me at a later date and at that point , he finished the painting around the cabinets. Don't know if it would have been painted if I hadn't hired him to do additional work. Having said that, I guess it was such a small amount of painting that it wouldn't have been worth his while to hire someone to come out to do just that. All in all, the quality of their work is very good and I would definitely hire them again.

Description of Work: We had a wall opened and a wall built with some electrical work.

Description of Work: Estimate for deck repair, dry wall repair, floor repair, and chimney repair.

Description of Work: I had contracted a plumber to put in a new shower valve that was in the middle of the wall. He had to remove the drywall from the wall behind the shower to access the valve for the replacement. When he was done, I was left with a sizable hole in the drywall in the wall behind the shower. The Swiss Handyman was contracted to put new drywall up and to repair and conceal the hole that was left by the plumber.

Description of Work: I had scheduled an appontment for them to come out and give me an estimate on my cabinets.

Description of Work: Swiss Handyman fixed several doors that were sticking, had broken doorknobs, or were not shutting. They also took out squeaks in the doors. Lastly, they fixed a window sill where a screw had split the wood. They replaced a part on my Aeron office chair.
