I had 4 garage door installation estimates for my home. Arne's personality and professionalism impressed me. He seemed to be the "straight shooter" of the bunch. He was honest about what I needed for an opener - 1/2 horsepower as opposed to a more expensive 3/4 horsepower motor - and I appreciated that. I asked him about power failure backup for the garage door opener, as we seem to get more than our fair share of power failures in my neighborhood. Originally, he said that the unit with the power failure backup battery feature would cost $75.00 more, which I was prepared to pay. He did not charge for the extra feature when he did the install. We set up a day and time for the install over the phone. He showed up on time, removed the old door and opener installed the new door and opener and finished when he said he would. The door works great. His price was a little more expensive than 1 of the estimates and cheaper than 2 others, but it was his professionalism that made me decide to use him. His workmanship was great. I can appreciate it because I come from a family of carpenters, builders, electricians, and furniture makers. I would recommend Arne's Garage Doors to anyone

The service and work were excellent. The garage doors is made of quality materials and the installation was perfect. We are very happy with the results. Arne is very efficient and thorough. I would highly recommend him.

(See my "F" report on another company: Abe's Garage Door.) I called Arne's to correct what Abe's did to my Garage Door Opener. Abe's charged me $366.00 and functioned worse. Arne just tightened a bolt in the side track and made an adjustment in the overhead track and it works perfectly every time. Abe's had said it was cheap and no good and needed to be replaced. Arne said it was actually one of the more expensive Genie models. Arne is great!

Arne showed up early for our appointment, which was very early in the morning. He immediately diagnosed the problem, didn't try to upsell me. He named his price, which sounded fair, and he went to work. He was done in under an hour and the OLD garage door works perfectly. I'm very satisfied and would recommend Arne to anyone as soon as the word garage fell off their lips. ARNE RULES!

He was at my house within an hour of when I called him. He diagnosed the problem quickly, had the required part with him in his truck, fixed it, and was gone a half hour later. The problem was fixed before most of the other garage door people I called had returned my call. Even better, when I first called him, he asked questions to try to find out if there was an easy fix that I could do on my own for free, without him having to come out. Price seemed reasonable for the work done and the parts required.

Arne was great. Really nice guy and easy to work with. Arrived on-time and finished the job quickly. He even helped set up our in-car remotes and I consider that above-and-beyond what I asked for.

Arne did an excellent job - he was extremely responsive, professional, and very down to earth. There was no effort on his part to make a sale - he simply provided all of the information, took a look at the garage, gave me an estimate, much less than the other estimates , and he finished the job within a week. Great experience!

Arrived the day after my call for an estimate at the scheduled time. Made excellent suggestions and explained in detail what was needed and what was not necessary. I felt the estimate was very fair and I felt very comfortable with his expertise and professionlism. Arne arrived early the day of installation and immediately began the process of removing the old wooden door, which he hauled away after installation of the new door. Arne's partner arrived after a few hours and together they installed the best garage door I have ever owned. Their attention to detail and quality of installation was impressive, they made a point of cleaning up after they were finished and went over all the instructions of the new openers and caring for the new door. I highly recommend his services.

The installation was quick (2 hours) and we love the job. Our garage door is very quiet, which is important because our bedroom is right above. Arne was an engineer in the military and I believe he's doing this as a retirement gig. He is very professional and friendly and he does great work.

I originally emailed Arne very late Thursday night on Jan 6, 2011 from his listing in Angie'sList. I didn't hear from him the following morning so I called him. He was currently at a job, but asked if I needed immediate assistance in case I was trapped in my garage. I said no I was fine and he agreed to come over the next day, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 9:00 am. Shortly before the appointed time, he called me stating that he was running late and asked if it was ok to be at my home in 40 minutes. Before the 40 minutes were up, he arrived ready to be of assistance. After paying Arne for the job, he showed me the email that I had originally sent him. He apologized for not responding to me first thing Friday morning since he was at a job site and didn't check his emails until Friday afternoon. Finally, I didnt' have to ask Arne for the 10% senior discount, since Arne gives every AngiesList customer a 10% discount and priority in responding to their job requests. As an AngieList user in his 60s, I really have come to depend on getting dependable honest workmen to do specific jobs at my home when needed. My dumb mistake of putting away a large hard plastic cooler up where the garage door tracks are and then shutting the door , completely jamming and bending track/panels - I thought garage door would be completely inoperableand we would have to buy a new door!. Arnie came within two hours of my call. Saw the damage; said it would be $90; then proceeded to straighten out tracks and put panels back together. My husband had taken apart so that we could at least close door. This happened on Sunday afternoon. We called our usual garage door place, they were closed so we left a voicemail message. On Monday morning, when I hadn't heard from them, I went on to Angie's list, found Arnie's information and called him and he was there within two hours. In the meantime, we didn't hear back from our usual garage door place until Monday afternoon. Thank you, Arnie, for your excellent service. You will now be our "go-to garage door fixer guy".

Arne arrive on time to give an estimate. He discussed the options. Suggested to remount since the 1940's method was outdated and dangerous. He arrived for the work on time; did the work in a few hours and cleaned up after. His partner was on vacation so he asked me to help for one minute to hold the door while putting a holding device in place. I was perfectly fine with that. He's a nice guy, he's a good communicator, got it done fast and was punctual.

My mother is very satisfied. They were cheaper than the other bids that we got. He was very respectful.

Arne arrived earlier than our decided time, but simply waited for me, so that was fine. He appeared very knowledgeable about garage doors and was ready to go right from the start. We had a great conversation while he repaired the door efficiently and effectively. His price is a flat fee, but I don't have a reference point to compare how good his pricing is so I don't know if it is more than a "good" price, but I do believe it was pretty fair.

The work was great. We were happy to save the cost of an entire new door and are happy with our very responsive sensor and wall mounted clicker.

I called arnie and he came by gave me an estimate. He was the third estimate we liked his estimate and came two days after with the new garage door. He didn't ask for money up front. We liked this. Once the job was done I was able to give him a check. I really liked his work,honesty, and professionalism. Make sure you let him know exactly what you want him to do. This helps. We liked him because he lives in our neighborhood.

Arne came and consulted with us to help us order an appropriate garage door for our needs, then came and installed it on time and very well! It's beautiful and exactly what we'd discussed. He even found windows we wanted that had been discontinued! So, he's professional and helpful, and will make an extra effort to ensure you are getting what you want. Highly recommended!

We spring replaced about a month ago. They are reliable and respond immediately. The service is great.
